Yeah, this is the one. As I told you a while ago, back when I was with Arild's newsgroup, this pic of "Carrie" was posted there, by somebody. One of the female members, who knew I could draw, asked me if I would please "cover up" the indecent toon. I didn't blame her.



This version, with a neat pair of blue panties covering up the ridiculously bounteous bush of the original toon, is more appropriate, I think.

Doc Cylon really hit a pair of "home runs" this week! Loved having the prominent display of the hairbrush beside the White Queen lying on her stomach, redbottomed and sobbing. Maybe he can do another where its a Spencer paddle, one with plenty of nice holes in it, that was the implement used.
So agree with Butch that there is just something grand about seeing a queen, or any other woman of high position, "taken down a peg" by a spanking. This sort of feeling is widespread IMO- look at all the discussion of spankings for female celebrities like actresses, pop singers and athletes that are on spanking sites. Or for that matter comic book heroines on here.
The discussion of what may be the first secretary spanking cartoon was very interesting. Not the greatest piece of artwork, but still valuable.
Like the Carrie "cover up. On the whole tend to prefer some piece of clothing left on the spankee, especially something sexy, whether lingerie, a bathing suit, tights, whatever. of course I know not everyone agrees on that point.

Thanks again for this week's update. As usual, my favorite is the Humorama find. I agree with what Tanner said about the early Wenzel cartoon:

I'm always interested in an artist who begins a trend... especially this one. At that time, Bill Wenzel apparently wasn't as skilled as he became later, but there were signs of what he would eventually become. The lady is nicely proportioned, but not shaded the way his later drawings would be. And the angle of her twisted neck makes me think of Linda Blair in The Exorcist! But the important thing is that this was the first of its kind to be published in one of the Humorama family of magazines, and obviously, there was enough of a favorable response for it that Wenzel would continue to draw more like it and so would the other artists who submitted their work to Humorama.

Perhaps if a spanko had done the story, it would be the other way around.

Ah, yes - that's it! I was just testing... Actually, when I copied some of the HTML code that included the date, I changed the day and month but forgot about the year. Good catch, Willjohn, and by the time you read this it should be all fixed.

Thanks to Dan for supplying his modified version of the Carrie bell-ringing episode - it will be added to the page along with this week's updates. We're going to wind up the Carrie series this week so we can move on to perhaps more interesting material with the beginning of the New Year. The Carrie spankings aren't bad, but as b00m said:

• Doctor Cylon colorizes and animates Wendy, from Julius Zimmerman's "Dezign" series.
• Humorama Series #69 - For the final entry in 2011, we have a never-before-seen cartoon by Bill Wenzel in which we meet Pierre, who employs unusual methods to help his female clients reach their weight-reduction goals! We'll also take a close look at the cover of the Humorama digest in which it appeared, and see a model who later became quite famous on television!
• Charlie sent us a better-quality enlargement of the Carrie Gets Paddled scene from the boat race incident we posted three weeks ago.
• Also from Charlie is another scan of Carrie the Maid.
• Not to be outdone, Dan Rivera contributed another version of Carrie Spanked by the Bell that he did years ago at the request of a member of Arild's newsgroup.
• And speaking of Carrie, we wind up her series with her last two spankings. In the first, she returns to the teaching profession only to receive corporal punishment from the headmaster (again); while in the second, she gets into a catfight with another girl, loses, and must pay the price by accepting a caning - a sophisticated comedy of manners it ain't!

"a bare bottom spanking for Wendy"................and a nicely red and rounded bare bottom it is too . i'm not sure what was going on in the original drawing but i like the way her dress is flying around, exposing that bottom. i too approve of Pierre's weight loss plan.................even if he is using the wrong hand . it appears to me that the young lady doesn't entirely mind having her weighty problem tended to you mentioned that this might have been a transitional phase because Wenzel has her dress pulled up. still i like the way the dress is hanging..............as if it is a nice, light weight, soft fabric perhaps this fabric is also in transition. thanks and a tip of the hat to charlie for the enlarged Carrie spanking panels. thanks also to Dan for the variation on the Carrie "bell" spanking. much better. i was happy to see that there was more than one spanking going on in the Carrie teacher story. it would have been nice if Carrie had gotten to blister their bottoms good before the headmaster arrived. you mentioned the girls laughing while Carrie was getting hers. that goes along with a theory i have about one girl watching another one get a spanking. it seems to me that no matter how close the friendship is between 2 girls, there is always a certain element of jealousy going on and whether they will admit it or not, the one watching is going to at least giggle a little at the spankee's predicament . after all, she knows her well enough to know she is a brat that deserves a spanking .................at least that's my theory . looks to me like the cat fight is just as excuse for them to wind up naked although i don't know why they bother with excuses since it happens in every story . nice stripes but they should have shown the actual spanking. another good update. thanks, phil

Doctor Cylon spanking Wendy is nice like how her dress is blowing up while her bare curvy bottom is being spank bongo style I could see the lady in Bill Wenzel`s Unusual Methods spanking drawing really feeling the burn But the drawing had many flaws like the spanker is using the wrong hand and the spankee is to far over his knee also the position of the chair is wrong as the spanker is sitting sideways nice panty cover bottom on the spankee who is cute and curvy like all Wenzel`s women Giving the humor of this drawing I wished the spanking position could have been better! I'm in America and have no British connections, sorry to say. But if Don Lawrence's Carrie was originally published in England and Norman Pett's Jane also had its genesis in the UK, this Yank is wondering if the general British sensibility demands that sexy, curvaceous young women remove their clothes in public. 'Cause both those comics always ended with their heroines in a "shocking" state of undress.

The first week of 2012 has been a busy one here at the CSR editorial offices. I've got 5 regular updates plus another 13 additions to the Comic Spanking Data Base (don't look now, but it's getting perilously close to 500 rows). If that weren't enough, I've got four spanking searches going on simultaneously! I have nailed down some details of known Wonder Woman spankings, but the only new one I discovered is F/M , and not even with WW as the spanker. The last few Humorama digests I looked at had no spankings, but I've got three more on the way this week so I'll keep my fingers crossed. To make up for my not finding any new Humorama cartoons,Dan Rivera did post some nice ones this week on the "Spanking in Media" forum that you should take a look at if you haven't already.

And now, the updates:

• Doctor Cylon shows us the results of a well-placed swat in a work he calls "Stinger".
• Humorama Series #70 - We continue into the series' second year with a Bill Wenzel cartoon featuring a man in a bridge club who responds to a young woman trumping his ace by taking her over his knee.
• We revisit Nik Zula's ALF spanking with a colorized version done by Coyote on Fire.
• More spanking from Scooby-Doo as Velma ties up Daphne and spanks her! Art by Ken Walsh.
• We launch the new year with a new series of comic spankings, beginning with the fourth one from Abbie an' Slats which unfortunately takes place off-panel. Sent to us by Tiptopper, this is still a fine scene in which a father demonstrates to his grown-up daughter that she's not too big to be taken over his knee!

Thirteen not-posted spankings were added to the Comics Spanking Data Base this week. Only two were M/F . Interested persons can look these up in the DB using the information below:

1. (M/M) Archie spanks brat with hairbrush. From the Archie strip.
2. (M/F) Blondie double-spanking! Dagwood and Mr. Clump both spank their daughters, who have contrived to get the fathers to fight. Not posted because Cookie and the other girl are both children.
3. (F/M) Catwoman uses her Cat O'Nine Tails on some college kid. From the Batman strip in 1989, this one was discovered by Spiritworks some time ago. Even though a Super-Villainess is involved, I really can't see that it's interesting enough to post, and I've already got more unwanted F/M stuff than I know what to do with.
4. Captain Marvel, Jr. - Leon, boy inventor, invents things that cause trouble so he invents a self-spanking machine. Another spanking from Otto Binder - if only half of his scenes had been M/F! Ugly on all counts and will never be posted in CSR!
5. (M/M) Jonathan Kent once again tries to spank young Clark. This one looks different than all the previous ones, so I had to put it in the DB - now I'll try to forget I ever saw it. Jonathan had two opportunities to spank Supergirl, by the way, but he never did .
6. (F/F) Katy Keene spanked her little sister - again! As usual, she used a hairbrush (these scenes remind me a lot of Fritzi Ritz spanking Nancy). Will not be posted because little sis is too young.
7. (M/M) Lala Palooza - more ugly M/M paddling, probably from Bernard Dibble. Is it too much to hope that I don't find any more of these things?
8. (M/M) Tick Tock #21 - Yet more M/M paddling, this time by monkeys - yeesh!
9. (M/M) Tim - not sure if that's the strip's name or not. Looks a little like Oaky Doaks, but here it's Tim who gets spanked.
10. (F/M) The Ghostly Trio gets spanked by their Aunt Bossy in Tuff Ghosts #10. I wouldn't object to ghost/ghost spanking if it were only M/F.
11. (F/M) Wonder Woman #5 - I guess I'm going to have to take the "credit" for discovering this one as part of my Wonder Woman search since I have never seen it on the Net before. I had hoped to find Wonder Woman herself getting spanked, or at least a Holliday Girls sorority paddling (I know there's one more out there because I saw it thirty years ago), but all I got was the Duke of Deception getting spanked by a female guard after Mars sends him to women's prison. I did at least manage to nail down some of the details of already-known WW spankings. There were three spankings in WW #2 alone, with additional spankings in #3 and #5 (this one - #4 didn't have any).
12. (M/M) - From a Nancy and Sluggo strip in Tip Top Comics #219, rich-boy Rollo has a robot which Nancy gets control of. She has it spank Rollo, and then --
13. (M/M) - when Rollo's father tries to interfere, he gets spanked also! Two distinct spankings in one story, but they're both M/M and one of them involves a juvenile, so they won't be posted.

Nice update this week! Thanks. As usual, when there's a Wenzel cartoon included, that'll be the one I like the best. About ten years ago, when Arild's Yahoo group still existed, I saw the "Trumped Ace" cartoon posted there. But after that, I didn't see it again until Dan posted it on this forum. And now you've found a copy that, even though the size of the picture is smaller, the details are clearer.

The question has been raised before: Was Wenzel a spanko or not? Some of the awkward positions he drew his characters in would make me think he probably wasn't... However, he obviously appreciated a well-rounded feminine backside, which is evident even in his non-spanking cartoons.

Perhaps a spanking pose was just one more way to put the lady's "attributes' on display.

The other question that has been raised, but still not answered, is whether Wenzel was a lefty. I still haven't run across any decisive evidence, but it seems like he puts more lefthanded men in his cartoons than most of the other artists. The last three Wenzel cartoons you've included in your weekly updates depict a "lefthanded" OTK position. That could be an indication, but not solid proof.

whoever the spanker was in the Doc Cylon toon seems to be concentrating on one cheek at a time. interesting technique. looks like he got a good job of that one though . i agree with you that the otk position in the Wenzel "trumped ace" toon is a little shaky plus the spankee appears to be stiff as a board. i do like the way she's kicking her legs though and, as usual, the way her dress outlines her nicely shaped body . i remember the days of bridge clubs and i have to wonder just how many men would have loved to have done this in those days...............or if any actually did i love the Nik Zula astronaut spanking . i agree about her being sexy too. first off there's that nicely shaped bottom but i also think her obvious enjoyment of the whole situation is pretty sexy too. i too like the colored version and i notice that the colorist added a couple of other things such as the motion lines by her bottom. nice touch. this is an interesting drawing you posted and some interesting comments. on the one hand, i would agree that the awkward positions of the spankees would seem to indicate that he is not a spanko. on the other hand, it would appear that he was indeed a fanny fan. after all, he took such care to display them nicely outlined in his spanking toons and in the one you posted those backsides are obviously the main focus of the drawing . it always seemed to me that men who really like a woman's bottom end best usually have some spanking tendencies.....................or at least are not adverse to it. perhaps Wenzel falls into this category. maybe his otk positions are weak because he wasn't a man who actively sought spanking but i'd be willing to bet that he would have been swatting some of those bottoms if he had gotten the chance...........even if he didn't worry about what position she was in. any one else got thoughts on this? thanks, phil

Interesting discussion. I looked again at some of my Wenzel source material to see if I could find anything that might shed some light on these questions. As far as the subject of this week's Trumped Ace cartoon, a friend of his remembered that Wenzel was an excellent bridge player.

As to whether he was left-handed, the only picture I have is from his Army days, not at his drawing board, so you can't tell from that whether he was right-handed or left-handed.

Was Wenzel a fanny-fancier? His daughter Dorian remembered that "Dad always felt that women should have a little bit of a stomach, big hips, and a hiney." So I'd say the answer to that was a definite "yes"! Probably Wenzel, like many men, would have somewhat enjoyed spanking a woman, but there is no indication that he was an actual spanko even though it does appear he invented the "spanker" over at Humorama. (I have one fly-swatter gag cartoon that predated Wenzel's first "spanker", but I'm not sure it counts because there's no OTK position).

With screen resolutions increasing in size, even the old weak-eyed Web-Ed doesn't use 600 x 800 pixels any more, and some changes have been necessary to make sure the graphics on CSR aren't too small to be seen by anyone over 40. (The higher the screen resolution, the smaller an image of fixed dimensions will appear). Some months ago, I increased the colored buttons to 20 x 20, a 77% increase in visual area, and I've now decided to increase the picture thumbnails to 150 pixels in height (width will have to vary), a 125% increase. This has been the standard in the Humor Gallery for years, where I found that black & white line drawings were too hard to look at if they were only 100 pixels high, and it will be the new standard for the other galleries as well. I don't know what I'm going to do if screen resolutions become any larger, because retrofitting hundreds of the old thumbnails would consume an enormous amount of time, but I'll worry about that another day.

A busy week for us, but we think you'll like the results, with six updates including two from comics that haven't been seen before. Dan Rivera did most of the work for us in the Humor Department (thanks Dan), contributing one Wenzel cartoon and a corrected version of another. And Doctor Cylon added two more Scooby-Spankings, one each of Velma and Daphne.

• While we're on the subject, Doc Cylon also revisited a drawing he had used years ago of Scooby-Doo's other girl, Daphne, which we added to the existing page "Daphne Gets the Ruler".
• Dan Rivera gives Bill Wenzel's cop some proper fingers for his spanking hand.
• Humorama Series #71 - From Dan's collection comes another cartoon of Bill Wenzel as a man tries to cure his hiccups by spanking his girlfriend - at least that's what he claims!
• The second spanking from Captain Terry Thunder as Terry is confronted by a spoiled, disobedient General's daughter in Jungle Comics #6. Never before seen on the internet as far as we know.
• Unexpected bonus: Wonder Woman must get down on her hands and knees for the hairbrush - in an actual comic book!!
  We discovered this one just last week and couldn't wait to post it.

I almost forgot this: Frustrated by all the opportunities Superman missed to spank Lois Lane, I did my own fake of a Superman/Lois spanking! Check it out over on the "missed opportunities" topic.

well, i sure have to agree with you about Velma's enormous boobs being a detraction...............also a distraction! i saw them before i saw her bottom but that's probably because they are bigger than her bottom cheeks . i will say that she looks very happy to be showing herself in this position while pulling her own panties down though.................and of course, Doc Cylon knew exactly what to do with those well presented bottom cheeks . i really like the bottom coloring and the "sizzle" in the latest update of the Daphne pic by Doc Cylon . we may never who did the original alteration of the Wenzel cop spanking but at least we know that Dan is the one who finished it properly. it looks much better this way . thanks for the cover of the original 1956 magazine in which it appeared. i guess i missed it when it first came out..............possibly because i was 7 years old at the time . great otk position in the Wenzel hiccup spanking . nicely rounded bottom up high and well presented and her feet dangling just off the floor. i like the position of her arms too as well as the mistrustful expression on her face . i like the way he's holding her dress up and it's nice to see a "bare bottom" in this i don't know what the spanker's thinking but if it was me, i'd be looking at that nice bottom rather than at the viewers . thanks for the complete story of Captain Thunder. that young lady certainly did need a good spanking. thanks also for the explanation of why he commented that spanking was no longer an approved method of discipline. considering the time period, that comment confused me. i like the idea that Marston thought she should be displaying that red mark where all could see it . excellent update this week. thanks, phil

Julius Zimmerman`s Velma is much much Buxom than the one in the cartoon And I`am glad to see her on the recieving end of a spanking this time As always Doctor Cylon does a great job roasting a large fanny GREAT animation! That was one hot spanking Daphne got that broke the ruler on her bottom and she shouldn`t complain she have a very nice bottom for spanking really like this drawing! Great update this week! I love the hiccup cure (and wonder if it would really work... Hmmm... maybe I should try it!) And I've never seen (or even heard of) Captain Terry Thunder before. Thanks for that panel, and the story to put it in context.

And the thing with Lois Lane and another missed opportunity... I'm beginning to think that the whole magazine was one big missed opportunity! The readers wanted to see Superman spank Lois, and for whatever reason, the editor didn't give them what they wanted. Maybe a better title would've been "Lois Lame"!
