The ghost materialized just enough of his lap to support Katie in an O.T.K. position... but not so much that he would expose himself. (I don't think anyone would want that!) The hand he utilized to spank her was fully solidified.

Katie may have been better off with Shaggy and Scooby as back-ups.

Probably, but I wouldn't want to risk a lawsuit using someone else's copyrighted characters in one of my "original" stories. The two agents on the mission with Katie have sure shown less competence so far than Shaggy and Scooby, haven't they? Is there any chance that they might redeem themselves later? I've got another chapter ready for next week. We'll see,

You have the same problem that I have, fingers too wide for computer keyboards.

If anyone has read John Varley's Oprci [Ophiuchi - Web-Ed] Hotline. they will now that they have an all but indistructable forcefield spacesuit which is keyed to cancel when it neets another ,at rthe point of contact, so 2 people can make love in a vaccuum ,which is used in a couple of storys. I'd like to chime in on some of the lively discussion here.

1. On the Scooby-Doo references: it was interesting (and I think a little daring) of B00m to have Mr. Argyle start us down this road. I know I posted a lot of Scooby-stuff last year (and there's more in my files!) and some of it is Halloween-themed, but strangely it seems only two artists ever thought to have Daphne or Velma get spanked by a ghost - and B00m did the Katie-spanking better here, anyway. (Daphne's ghost-spanking may be found here, if anyone's interested.) I agree with Willjohn that Katie would have been better off with Shaggy and Scooby than the two pumpkin-heads Argyle assigned her, and that there wasn't much to the shows - poor Scooby has to be the most overused character in animation. I will repeat what I'm sure I opined somewhere else, namely that only the original 1969 series, formulaic as it was, ever really worked, and all that followed was pretty much a waste of film.

2. On the ghost's ability to materialize: it's probably silly to waste too much thought on this, but as ghosts are supposed to be immaterial ectoplasm it does present a problem for a ghost-spanks-girl situation. I think B00m came up with as good an explanation as anyone could in ascribing this ghost's solid spanking hand to Katie's hereditary sorcery.

3. On Phantom Girl: she's come up for discussion on CSR in a very limited way from time to time, but we don't have any actual spankings featuring her. (Maybe David could write a story based around his idea of her spanking a girl wearing a suit of armor). In my copy of the site I found this one example that was taken from an old issue of Adventure Comics with the dialogue rewritten by me. It was first used in an article I wrote years ago. Phantom Girl is the one with the big "P" on her costume (later changed, of course):

A suggestion for you and David Sherwood: modern operating systems have voice recognition software built into them. I don't know if they have the learning capability that the old Dragon VR software did, but they would seem to be a good idea for those who have trouble for whatever reason with ordinary keyboards. Because I can type almost as fast as I can speak I usually don't bother to use Windows Speech Recognition myself, but I really should since it would take some of the strain off my wrists.

You know, it really can't be that easy to integrate Katie into a Haunted House story, but so far, so good! Having Katie basically brat the poor ghost was an inspiration, and I hope she's learned a good lesson from it - not that it's likely to do her as much good as will the spankings I'm sure she's about to get for totally different reasons.

I'm too tired to say much else, Boom, except I thought your background work here was highly effective and about as dark as you could make it without detracting from the characters. By pure coincidence I believe I mentioned last week that Charles Biro always used such bright lighting in his comics art that he would have drawn a graveyard at midnight with enough light that his characters would have needed sunglasses .
