Two Tillie strips, one involving 'spanking' a decidedly female robot and the other an appropriate threat to the title character. Lastly, an actual M/F drawing just because I just can't help myself.

Hi, Web-ed. Great update this week!
web-ed wrote:The Comic Strip Series continues with a look back at Tillie the Toiler. The rest of the story and other information provided once again by CSR Chief Strip Researcher Sweetspot .
I've been seeing this panel for quite some time now. and it's good to know (as Paul Harvey used to say) "the rest of the story".
web-ed wrote:What about the art? Russ Westover was a competent if unspectacular artist who employed a number of assistants during the strip's run. Two things stand out: Tillie was very pretty and she was always dressed in the latest fashions, as would be expected for someone employed in the clothing industry. Her outfit here reminds us of the one worn by the spankee in the Ladies Home Journal.
The artist seems to have two styles in this comic. Mac and Mrs. Jones are very cartoony, while Tillie is more realistically proportioned. She looks very cute getting spanked, and I liked the way she reacted afterwards.
Great find, Sweetspot!

Hi, Sweetspot. These are some interesting strips.

Ha ha! I agree with Butch, Mac should've used a shovel to spank the lady robot... maybe like the ones they used in
McLintock! Too bad we didn't get to see Jack follow through on his threat to spank Tillie!
And that last one? What was the background story there?

More good finds, Phil, and I am filing them away (I hope in an organized fashion) so that they may eventually be copied over to the main site.

The Comic Strip Series continues with another new
Sweetspot
discovery of a
never-before-seen spanking in a surprising place - the science-fiction strip
Twin Earths!
This week we've got a very rare science-fiction spanking, something I discuss a little further on the page itself. Sci-fi comics were quite popular for a short time (indeed, we might consider the many sci-fi elements in many superhero comics) and yet there were almost no spankings in them. (Excluding superheroes from the sci-fi classification despite origins that depended on alien planets, cosmic rays, radioactive spiders, etc.) Why? We really don't know. There were certainly some spankings in sci-fi
novels, although perhaps the "spanking density" even there was low, and given the much smaller number of sci-fi comic strips and books perhaps we need look no further for the cause of the dearth of sci-fi comics spankings.
I can suggest one other reason: sci-fi comics were really popular only during the 1950's (and even then they were outsold by the horror and romance genres), and that was when fear that comics were contributing to juvenile delinquency was leading publishers to clamp down on content (see in this context the trouble I'm having right now finding spankings in 50's romance comics). This eventually led to the creation of the
Comics Code in 1954 and the ten-year "dead zone" for comic-book spankings from 1956-65.
What about
Twin Earths, then? Well, remember it was a strip and not a book, and not subject to the constraints of the Comics Code. Maybe it was good timing or maybe it was sheer dumb luck, but in either case this latest
Sweetspot spanking is quite enjoyable.
Next Week:
The Comic Strip Series continues with another look at
Moon Mullins. Don't miss it!

I remember " Twin Earths" as a strip in The Sun, a Sydney afternoon tabloid since defunct. It was about a fictional planet, Terra, that orbited the Sun on the same orbit as Earth. I thought this spanking was from a different strip, the name of which escapes me.

This is a great find! The young lady being spanked is quite attractive, and the target is well-defined... in spite of the fact she's wearing a pressure suit. But I wonder... How much of that spanking did she really feel?
I'm totally unfamiliar with
Twin Earths, so I don't know who the woman is or who the man is. His line, "i'm gonna do something I've wanted to do for weeks"... seems to indicate that she had been provoking him all through their mission, and her most recent remark was somewhat of a last straw.
Her line: "What do you think you're doing?" is one of those classic lines that ranks up there with,"You wouldn't dare!" It's funny, even though it's a little silly of a spankee-to-be to ask... What does SHE think he's doing? Would there be any other reason for him to put her across his lap like that? It reminds me of those wrestling announcers who yell, "What's he going to do with that chair?"
Her response afterwards: "Y-You spanked me!" is another great line used frequently by ladies who have just been spanked... as if the man who just did it doesn't know!

From what I remember the woman's boyfriend was supposed to be on the space ship but the bloke who spanked her replaced him and she resented it.
It was 60 odd years ago.

Web-Ed has done his always fine job with this post; it was very informative. Yesterday, and early this morning, I returned to
Twin Earths to see if I could find a further spanking reference and to better understand the relationships between these characters.
You are correct 'willjohn'. Captain 'Cookie' Cook's fiancée was originally to be the third member of the moon expedition but was replaced by Chris Cannon because of Cannon's previous experiences in space flight. Cookie had hoped to be the first woman to be married in space or perhaps even on the moon. Performing the wedding would have been the commander of 'Rover' Major Red Fox

Eventually Cookie is to blame for the injuries that cause Red to yield command of the mission to Chris - against orders she enters an unstable rocket from a previous, (to capture the photos of the year) but failed, mission causing Red's hip to be crushed beneath some rocket parts. The beautiful Cookie Cook, both geologist and physician, must settle for being the first 'astronette' in space [although in fact the women of Terra have been moving between planets for decades]. The timeline here seems to be that this story is taking place in the mid-1970s and that the Rover is fueled by nuclear power. Chris is happily married to a Terraian woman [her identity is secret on Earth] so this spanking is not at all romantic or could lead to romance.
Twin Earths July 27, 1961. Here is what Chris meant when he said he had been wanting to spank Cookie Cook for 'weeks'.

HI web-ed,
I enjoyed both the story and the drawings on this one

. We have a pretty, shapely, naughty girl getting a well deserved spanking

. I also liked the panel showing her surprise at having actually been spanked

. That element of surprise works really well in a romantic relationship too where the girl just can't believe that her lover spanked her bottom

. I also enjoyed all the info you presented with this

. Good update. Thanks, Phil

This week's updates:
The
Moon Mullins spanking has already been posted here on the Forum but it needed to be in the main site as well. Indeed, most or all of the spankings
CSR Chief Strip Researcher Phil Sweetspot
has put on the Forum will eventually need to be copied onto the main site, and the only question is one of timing. Right now, I plan to alternate the "copies" with brand-new spankings, of which we still have a few, but because I don't want a "copy" to be the only main site update all week I also managed to get one of
Doctor Cylon's collaborations with
Julius Zimmerman posted as well.
It was a strain - I'm writing this on Friday night, about a day later than usual, because updates seem to take longer than ever. With the Comic Strip stuff, it's the nature of the material and the necessary research, plus the coding of multiple images (I code each one by hand to control size and placement on the page).
Doctor Cylon has been a lifesaver over the years, but at the moment even his stuff takes a lot of time because I still don't have his hundreds of contributions (no exaggeration, they number 1113 as of this writing) completely sorted and organized, and I don't want to post something only to have to come back to it later with a variation that perhaps escaped my notice because it was in a different sub-folder or had a different name.
Accordingly, we'll probably be concentrating on the "Jessica Rabbit" material for a while as it is pretty easily identifiable and mostly already organized. This week, we see Jessica not getting spanked, but in a sheer outfit that will make any true spanko think about turning her over his knee in a hurry! This is another Cylonization of a Julius Zimmerman drawing, and there are dozens more awaiting posting in the future. (There is also some Zimmerman material that is too explicit to be posted, but I may be able to make it available to readers for download in the future. We'll have to see as I've got a million things to do before I can get around to that.)
No time for either the mail box or the board this week - I hope to try to catch up on what Phil and B00m have been up to soon. A fine thing when I'm probably the last to know what's going on here on the board, but that's just the way it's been - there are only so many hours in the week.
Enough complaining - next week, tune in for another of Phil's discoveries with a new spanking from
Polly and Her Pals!

Would I be wrong in saying that Jessica Rabbit was inspired by Kathleen Turner in her early career?

Earliest of Kathleen's movies I ever saw was "Body Heat." What a gorgeous villainess.

And Kathleen Turner supplied the voice of Jessica Rabbit.
