That's an interesting question. I took a look at a few Firm Hand Spanking free sample clips, and, of course the speed of different spankers in diferent videos varied. The range was mostly between thirty and fifty swats delivered in a twenty-second timespan. Most of the guys I saw were going pretty fast.

I'm thinking the old librarian would be a little bit slower, so... if he gave Katie about 25 swats every 20 seconds, it would take a little over two-and-a-half hours to give her 9522 swats. And then, it would take approximately three more hours to start over again and give her the full 1,4618 swats. Allowing for Mr. Henson's little nap, I woud estimate that Katie would've had to spend almost six hours turned over that old man's bony knees!

Of course, this story is a fanciful exaggeration. I think 23230 swats in a real-life spanking would be way too much.

It's fun to imagine, though!

Well now I know! I would like to see more of Katie meeting new or in this case old friends in the future

I remember the earlier version. Katie was much younger then.

O.K. I can do that. Usually I focus attention on Katie herself... secondly the female characters ( IF they're going to get spanked too ) and less so the male characters. I suppose I can introduce a few more guys. They'll probably look a lot like other male charactes I already draw, since I use a basic template for all of them.

I'm surprised you remember it. I lost the file years ago. That's why I decided to do it over again. I hope you like the new version.

I don't remember what year I did it. 2002, maybe? I think back then I considered Katie to be in her mid-20s. (Of course, being a drawing, she can get older without showing her age... just like Blondie Bumstead and Lois Lane.)

I have a pretty good memory. My wife finds it annoying. I don't push it because anybody who can put up with me for 50 years deserves understanding.

B00m, this was laugh-out-loud funny! Having Katie get herself in some kind of trouble that leads to a spanking is the basic motif of this strip, and it has proved to be a durable one, adaptable to all kinds of situations. I think Willjohn probably remembers Katie's past strips best of all of us. I have to admit I don't remember the original (it's possible I never saw it as I believe you were posting these on the Artastic Forum at the time, which without checking I think went down in 2011 (all the details including my failed attempts to save AF are under another forum on this board), and I don't remember when I discovered AF - probably around 2009, years after you posted the strip in question.)

About those early Katie strips: before the end of AF, I sent a robot to download whatever picture files from its parent site, Underground-Animations.com, it could, but for legal reasons, I deleted all the UA files a few weeks after the robot retrieved them (they were briefly available for everyone to download in a compressed folder). I did go over all 10,000 or so(!) of them first, but for whatever reason there were only a few O. T. Katie strips among them. Those were posted here back in 2019 if anyone hasn't seen them. (I think most of the rest of the 100 or so files I retained have been posted in the Art Gallery, but knowing myself as I do I think it's safe to say some of them have been languishing in my "New Material" folder all these years ).

But back to the present - without over-analyzing the humor, I think it's safe to say it springs from the fact that only one person in this world (or the strip's world) could possibly find an overdue library book after forty years, return it, and be penalized with a spanking instead of a fine, and that person is Katie!

As to the time it would take for Katie to get all 14,618 spanks, I estimated one spank per second which would take 244 minutes or four hours and four minutes (interesting how that comes out). I left out the complication of poor old Mr. Henson losing count, but anyway, on those rare occasions when delivering a large number of spanks to a deserving young lady has crossed my mind , I often imagine I would generously offer her a partial remission of sentence and allow her to return another day or days to receive the remainder. Sometimes I imagine she must pay "interest" in the form of extra spanks for the courtesy I have extended to her; other times I let her off interest-free - what a nice guy I am .

Before I joined Artrastic, I was a member of a Yahoo group. Contributors to that group included Dan Rivera, Phil Overbarrel, Dave Wolfe, Endart, Angus Old, and others. Unfortunately, the main administrator died unexpectedly, and didn't transfer enough of his authority to the co-administrator. That poor guy couldn't weed out the spammers that were taking over, and he just had to close it.

I joined Artastic as a barter deal. Usketcher gave me access to his pay site for me sending him some of my O.T. Katie strips. I was never completely comfortable with some of the comics that involved children. They weren't overtly pornographic... but still made me feel creepy.

For that reason, and some other things, I enjoy posting my stuff here a lot better.

I think I came up with a somewhat rational explanation for why the late fee takes the form of a spanking, rather than a monetary fine. However... most of the time, when the late fee exceeds the price of the book, a replacement fee is charged instead. The only explanation I have for why that didn'r happen is: Mr. Henson just wanted to give Katie a REALLY LONG spanking! Or maybe the book has been out of print for several years, and existing copies sell for an even higher price. Nahhhh! It's more likely that Mr. Henson really enjoyed giving Katie that lo-o-o-o-o-o-ong spanking!

I had consided that... but, in Katie's case, postponed spanks would probably run into her next day's spankings!

The child spankings were certainly one of the big problems with Artastic, although I'm sure the intention was innocent. The appeal eludes me, and had I succeeded in getting access to AF's data base and then converting the forum to phpBB, all of them would have had to go. For the same reason, when Chross invited the AF artists over to his forum, none of the child-spanking artists were included in that invitation and I've since lost track of them.

(Chross lost a lot of stuff on his board apparently when he converted to phpBB, I would guess because the encrypted passwords and attached picture files could not be decrypted in the conversion process, in case anyone was wondering what happened over there.)

I think this is a very interesting suggestion, Solsunbeach (and thanks for the compliment). I'm of two minds on it.

In its favor is the undeniable fact that the young adults we're trying to reach spend a lot of time on social media, and get most of their news and information that way (much to our society's detriment), and I think it was clever of you to suggest that we join social media, since we cannot beat it. Possibly we could get some of these young spankos to follow the links from Fetlife to here (I'm assuming that's possible since I don't know much about it).

But there are problems as well:

1. I hate social media for a variety of reasons, mainly privacy (mine) and superficiality (theirs). I got rid of my Facebook ID years ago because I don't want my data collected and never joined Twitter.
2. Fetlife is definitely being monitored by the Feds, who cannot be trusted. Maybe they're just looking for child predators, which would be fine as that's part of their job, but maybe they're looking for something they can use against political dissidents. If that sounds paranoid, I must insist that it's already happened, in the case of innocent parents concerned about the indoctrination their kids at school who were targeted by the FBI as potential "domestic terrorists". I don't want to get started on that topic here, but I also don't want to have an FBI file opened on me if I can help it.
3. Time - unlike the kids, I've got no time for social media. I'm having real trouble just keeping CSR going and don't see how I could read and post over at Fetlife as well. This is probably the most intractable of the issues.

You're right. If Katie had done the sensible thing, the school librarian wouldn't have had the opportunity to give her the longest spanking she's ever gotten. And we would've had to wait for someone else to spank her for some other reason.
