Good find!!! Why no spankings in these strips??????????????

I mentioned the great Spirit/Ellen spanking during this week's updates, and as it happened I just discovered another occasion on which the Spirit threatens here with a spanking. Here it is, from September 6, 1942:





Ellen carelessly blurts out "Wildwood Cemetary" to the cabbie when no one is supposed to know that The Spirit has his secret headquarters there - time for a spanking! But for some reason The Spirit holds back - had he forgotten that he had spanked Ellen two years earlier (our time) when she was a college student? Perhaps Eisner himself had forgotten - but he had the original splash panel, complete with spanking, hanging up in his studio! (As noted in This Week's Updates in the context of the terrible Mr. Mystic spankings by Bob Powell).

Feel that The Spirit had plenty of Spankings chances both comics and movie

This isn't really a missed opportunity but more like a "spanking so badly needed " scene.
First season of Baywatch episode "Armored Car". Eddie, a Philly street kid who grew up in foster homes, is having an argument with his girlfriend Shauni, a spoiled blonde SoCal Princess played by Erika Eleniak.
She is having a tantrum because he plans to spend a weekend with some guy friends, and she is resentful. She shouts something about him placing their relationship "at the bottom" and smacks him on the seat of his swim trunks.
Oh, how wonderful it would have been to see him put her over his knee and administer a blistering spanking over her cheeky guard suit! But by the time Baywatch came along, spanking bratty women on TV was taboo. Too bad, as I can't think of a TV show where there were more women needing it.
Also, there was an episode where Pam Anderson swatted a guy on his butt. Double standard! The television powers that be would never have agreed to showing Pam Anderson (or any of the "Baywatch Babes") getting the spankings they deserved on their nearly naked bottoms!

would love to have seen some of them Bay Watch women spanked! also wish there was Spanking on Gilligan Island the old Batman tv show and Star Trek

We're doing a mini-series of Spanish-language comics on the main site, and I thought this Missed Opportunity would complement it nicely.

Men of Mexican and Latin American descent apparently prefer their Good Girl Art on the unsubtle side, judging by this and pretty much every other example we've ever seen:


Bellas del Noche #20 - "I syringe you, the boy"

We've seen what I call "Shots to the Behind" before and we'll be seeing quite a few of them in the future, probably as part of a planned future article on the history of the spanking cartoon, but this one stands out for the obvious reasons of the viewing angle and the extreme degree to which the female subject is bending over. The gag is basically always the same: Doctor gives a female patient an injection in her gluteus maximus when it is obvious or implied that it is normally given in another part of the anatomy. Nowhere near as satisfying as a spanking, but at least we're in "stinging behind" territory, which we believe historically paved the way for the spanking cartoon.

The dialogue on the cover runs like this:

DOCTOR: A little more on the side...

PATIENT: ...and the little one bites me!


This isn't too clear, and it seems strange that the syringe was just left in place with the plunger un-depressed, but Good Lord, what a target! Usually the patient is standing or slightly bent over, but this girl is bent all the way over the exam table! It makes you want to get your paddle out and go to work on the fanny of this very deserving spankee. I've only seen one other cartoon (essentially what this cover is) that comes close, and that was a modern example by Dean Yeagle (and yes, I'll be posting it eventually).

The woman's big round bottom and her position on the exam table would be perfect for paddling (which most of us at C.S.R. would prefer) Nice to see her like that.

I wonder if anyone went into teaching for that reason?

It has always been maintained that during Britain's mania for caning, some people became headmasters for that very reason. It was said of one headmaster that he knew his pupils' backsides better than their faces! It seems likely, although obtaining such positions must have always required a bit of "pull" as I don't think these positions were filled by merit-based selection. At least that's my take from reading some British novels other than Tom Brown's School Days.

And it would spoil all the fun if I got a headmaster's position in a boys' school!

I thought I had a separate topic for sexual innuendo, but it seems my past posts on that topic were all placed (or misplaced) here. I don't have a lot more of that material, which is probably of limited interest as it's non-spanking anyway, but I guess I might as well continue to post it here. Accordingly, and for the occasion of Homecoming Week 2022, let take a look at Archie-imitator Wilbur:

Now it could be my over-active imagination, but Wilbur's right hand seems to be placed just above Laurie's thigh. It's true that because a woman's center of mass is right around her hips, you probably couldn't balance her with one hand at the knees and the other as low as her thighs, but if your hand is right on her butt (which could be a stable position if you're strong enough) you might have some explaining to do. Notice that in the next panel, his hand has been moved to her back. No spanking for Laurie in this issue, unfortunately.

This kind of mistake by an artist can be perfectly innocent. Back in the 70's, I remember seeing an issue of Superman in which artist Curt Swan seriously misplaced Supe's hand as he caught a falling Lana Lang. I always thought that Swan had simply never noticed he put his hand on her bosom, although it could have been redrawn by some wise-ass in the production department.

Hmmmmm... It looks to me as if Wilbur had a fortuitous accident. Laurie jumped into his arms with his right hand in a position that her butt landed on it.

But then, the dummy moved his hand up to her shoulder!

Wilbur had no choice but to hold a handful of Laurie`s butt this reminds me of when I was recovering from my heart attack and the nurse a beautiful young woman was helping me to walk for the first time part of the rehab! as she got me to standup by my bed! all of a sudden I got real dizzy and started to fall backward! thanks god she caught me but being I`m a big man she couldn`t hold me up for long! panicking my hand grab her butt and we both fell back on the bed with her on top on me! with my head still spinning she kept asking me was I ok! removing my hand from her bottom I was scare and embarrass about what I done and started apologizing telling her I got scare and was only reaching for anything to support from falling! the doctors came in and told me my blood pressure dropped very low due do the amount of blood I lost Durning open heart surgery and that they was going to give me a blood transfusion in the ICU! I got two more during the week ! this might sound perverted but I never was more scared embarrassed and happy at the same time ! that pretty nurse did have a pair of nice round soft buttocks encased in those tight blue uniform pants and this is why you can`t blame Wilbur for holding Luarie`s butt as she jumped into his arms it was a quick reaction
