I was just wondering how you create your Katie's? not the ideas.......thank goodness you have a good imagination! but do you hand draw the pictures? use a computer program? I know how Phil does his and I just find the process very interesting. however you do it, you've got some mad skills! I was just curious. I know it's a lot of work however you do it, and again.......THANKYOU

And I see you have decided to break the story into several segments. Today, I first saw the ending of Part One. Even in the early going, you are celebrating the wonder of OTK spankings... showing Delores, dressed as Katie, get a good spanking in FOUR SEPARATE panels! Yumm, I hope that becomes your modus operandi from here on!

Looking back wistfully at my own attempts to craft a spanking toon, I now realize that the main reason no one cared to send me comments is that in my work, the spankings all took place in one or two panels. But you and overbarrel49 have crafted a style that lets us enjoy the spankings all the more by stretching the spankings out to four, five, or twenty panels! Yumm....

Looking forward to future panels of Katie, fightin for Truth, Justice, and the American Way of spanking!

I would be glad to explain my process to you. i started out with mostly hand-drawn pictures of Katie and scanned them into my computer. Then I divided one of my drawings into component parts... her head, her hair, her torso. her upper arm, her forearm... and so on. Then I used that as a template to get her proportions consistant, so she'll look like the same person in all the panels of a long story.

A lot of times I draw Katie and the other characters using the line tool of my Paintshop Pro software. It lets me click the cursor on one end of a line and then click the other end to make a straight line or a corner. Or I can click and drag to make a curved line. It's a lot like drawing by hand, but I can correct mistakes faster and easier.

Katie's overall shape is a combination of reality and fantasy. Her butt, thighs, and face are the closest to what you might see on a real-life woman. The waist, ribs and shoulders are impossibly small... to make her round butt and large breasts stand out more. And the lower part of the leg is elongated slightly. (I noticed that a lot of the Humorama artists did that, and it seems to make the women look sexier... as long as they don't exaggerate too much) Her hair is the color of the orange side of the Irish flag, and her skin is extremely pale so that when she blushes, or when her bottom turns red from a spanking, it'll show up more.

Most of the proportions of my male characters are based on myself (younger and thinner than I am in real life, of course!) I just took a picture of me standing against a white garage door and broke it up into the component parts, so I'd get the right ratio oi arm length and leg length to the overall height of each man. Sort of like making electronic paper dolls.

Some people have expressed the opinion that computer art should be for the ones who can't draw by hand, and obbviously I don't agree. I can draw by hand, but I do a lot of the more repetitive stuff on the computer as a sort of short cut.

Yeah, I split this one up because it turned out to be so long. Seventy panels in one day would be way too much. As I was proofreading myself, i decided to look for logical places to pause and put a "to be continued".

Actually, I think the reason you didn't get enough comments was that you deleted your stuff before most of us ever saw it. I probably missed at least half of your posts because they had already been deleted. I don't long on every day, and I don't think very many of us do.

I don't have any specific questions to ask you right now... but in general, there is one thing I'd like to know. If any of Katie's reactions don't ring true to you, I'd like for you to say something. At the moment, you seem to be the only one of Katie's fans who can offer a female point of view.

And congratulations on your relationship! I hope everything goes well between you and him. You seem to be a good person (well... naughty enough to get yourself spanked now and then... but basically a good person) and I would like for you to be happy.

hi Boom,

i thought all this was very fascinating. i has assumed that you had stock poses which you save and reuse.............just as i do but it never occurred to me that you divided them into components to keep the proportions the same............very clever.

i don't draw anything, of course, so this never occurred to me either.....i can see where it would be easier to correct mistakes on the computer than by hand.....also very interesting.

i hadn't noticed the reality part of this but i had noticed Katie's shapely fantasy........especially when it's sticking up in the air . you mentioned that her waist, ribs and shoulders are impossibly small to make her butt and breasts stand out more and i think most artists have to exaggerate certain things in order to get across to your viewers what you're trying to depict . in any case, i'm glad you do it the way you do because Katie always looks really cute and appealing . i never actually paid much attention to your males . i like your paper dolls analogy .

i had assumed that you did much of the repetitive stuff on the computer and i agree with you............the computer just helps you be more productive even though you can draw by hand and i certainly am in favor of more production when it comes to Katie . thanks for sharing all this with us..........i found it fascinating . also, thanks and a tip of the hat to Sunflower for asking. phil

Yeah. I do that too. I forgot to mention it. I have more than one OTK pose and then, of course, there's the one with one of the men patting her on the butt in a standing position that I re-use a lot.

Sunflower, just in case you haven't found them yet, I collected some early O.T. Katie strips from the "old days" at Underground-Aminations and posted them here. You might be interested to see how Katie has changed over the years, although she always got turned OTK (big surprise !). And I need to check to see if I have any more early Katie appearances deep in the files which should be added.

As for our other RA's, Phil's work is still available exclusively in his gallery here or from his blog. Some of Dan's work is scattered through the main site. A Dan Rivera Gallery over there is a nice idea, but I don't know when I could get around to it.
