This message is mostly directed to Solsunbeach... but it's not personal or confidential, so if any of the rest of you want to read it and respond, go ahead.
I was looking through some of my old posts, to refresh my memory regarding Agent Burns.
I had introduced him as an expert on burglary that was assigned to go along with Katie on a mission to retrieve (or steal) a valuable art object.
The first thing he did was to show up late for the briefing. Then he ogled Katie in her burglar outfit... which was form-fitting and semi-transparent. (I'd ogle too if I had been there!) He also asked if he had permission to spank Katie if she "needs it". A good start for a slightly-bad good-guy. Later in the story... no surprise... he did spank Katie for some mistakes she made that blew their cover.
I also found something I had forgotten about. Before Burns, there was an enemy spy that looked just like him! His name was "Dumas", which he pronounced "Doo-MAH" like the French author. Delores, who was his boss at the time sometimes called him "Dumb-ass"! For a while, he pretended to be the boss of the enemy agency that Katie, in disguise. had been assigned to infiltrate.
As a fake boss, Dumas had some opportunities to spank the disguised Katie, who thought he was in charge.
He was caught by agents of S.P.A.N.K. and vanished from sight for a while (presumably imprisoned). I'm wondering... would you like to see Dumas resurface in an O.T. Katie story too? Maybe they were twins, separated at birth.

The more despicable the character the better as far as I am concerned. Wasn't Dumas a character in the three musketeers?

No. Alexandre Dumas was the name of a French author who wrote "The Three Musketeers", "The Count of Monte Cristo" and other books set in France.
You may remember one of the convicts in "The Shawshank Redemption" calling him "Dumbass" when he saw the cover of "The Count of Monte Cristo."
The Three Musketeers were Athos, Porthos and Aramis with D'Artagnan as a recruit.

O.K. If I re-introduce Dumas, maybe he and Burns can be the evil twin and the EVEN MORE evil twin. (I can't make Burns COMPLETELY evil, since he works for the good-guy spy agency... He's a
sort-of good-guy with a few bad traits.)
And, as for the name, "Dumas". and its literary significance, WillJohn answered the question already. And, by the way, his father was a war hero of the French Revolution.
Americans with a Midwestern accent or a Southwestern accent are likely to pronounce that spelling as DOOM-us or DUMB-ass. Sometimes, as a joke, I use the proper French pronunciation when I'm out driving and someone in another car is acting like an idiot. "Hey, Dumas! Stay in your own lane!"

Dumas also had an ex-nuptial son known as Alexandre Dumas (fils) who was also a successful writer, best known for "The Lady of the Camellias".

I think bringing Dumas back for a future story has some potential, although if you wanted to bring him into the
current story, the only idea that comes to my mind is to recruit him as a double-agent for S.P.A.N.K. to work with Katie either to unmask the traitor in in their midst or to counter-infiltrate the enemy organization once it becomes known (if it isn't already). The only problem with that is that if the plot becomes as complex as that of
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold it may be too difficult to work in the essential spankings.
Otherwise, I think events are proceeding splendidly and I look forward to Burns getting directly to the seat of the problem (Katie's bare bottom) next time!

I don't have any immediate plans to bring Dumas back. But I was going over some past stories and realized that he and Burns look alike. I think I may take advantage of their resemblance at some point.
And, of course, I'd have to maintain some kind of balance between writing a story that (sort of) has a plot, and keeping the main focus on Katie getting spanked. Hmmm... Do you think that's what James Edward Grant had in mind when he was writing the script for
McLintock! ?

Yes. That's coming up soon.

Wasn't the enemy agent who worked for Delores named "Rednor?" Wasn't he put in charge of guarding Delores with orders to spank her if she tried to escape?

Rednor and Dumas both worked for Delores. Dumas was captured along with Delores, and then sort of vanished from the story.
Rednor kidnapped Katie at the same time that Delores escaped from S.P.A.N.K. custody. Then he defected, and hoped he could persuade Delores to defect with him.
Maybe i'll have to do some kind of story about what happened to Delores's former henchmen... IF i can do it without losing my main focus.

Hi, WillJohn. Thanks for commenting.
It's good to know you're still here. I didn't see anything from you last week and I was a little concerned.
I'm glad you like the slacks. I wanted them to look really tight, and made of thin fabric.
