The original intention of the Second Amendment was that the federal government would not be more heavily armed than the citizens, However, World War II changed that. In order to defeat the Nazis, we had to give the federal government weapons that could never be put into the hands of individual citizens. With modern weapon technology, we can no longer enforce a literal interpretation of the Second Amendment. Remember, it doesn't say "guns" it says "arms". I don't want my next-door-neighbor to have his own nukes.

The reasonable people of the U.S. (what few may be left) will have to come up with some kind of a compromise that allows home-owners to defend their families while disarming the nutcases.

I wonder if Katie could be transported back to different times in history which would mean meeting up with all sorts of spankers from different eras

She has done that with the Caveman and the town sheriff .

I like that idea. So far, I've only come up with two stories that Katie time-traveled. In one she built a time machine to escape from a spanking that Bullmoose wanted to give her, and wound up in the prehistoric past that Elaine and Grant had been sent to. Grant spanked her for letting Elaine escape from her exile, and the Clean-up Man spanked her for messing up the timeline. While she was being spanked by the Clean-up Man, she got stuck in the Groundhog Day Time-loop, and repeated the same spanking multiple times.

The other one was last year's Forty-Fifth Birthday/Twentieth Anniversary Spanking Extravaganza. Katie went through a time-warp to the Old West and got spanked by a cowboy who mistook her for one of her ancestors.

At some point in time, I'll come up with another time-travel story for Katie.

I'll definitely consider adding some new male characters. I don't usually put as much thought into the men, and Bullmoose is an easy default character to use as the spanker (especially since she's married to him). Having her run into a new character on a time-travel voyage is a good idea. I'll have to figure out what time to send her to.

We could hardly have expected you to have a long, multi-part story with an involved plot in addition to all the other Katie work you've been doing lately. And this special was in keeping with both the spirit of the holiday and the spirit of the O. T. Katie strip itself (Katie got spanked).

As to the other questions that have been raised, I'm always reluctant to get too political here because I don't want to tick off any of CSR's readers whatever their political orientation might be. Also, the last time I tried it I erred by giving the current U.S. administration, which I considered corrupt and evil, far too much credit. In response to B00m's entirely reasonable concern that we might be headed for war with Russia, I opined that a solution was readily at hand and that surely our glorious leaders would avail themselves of what I thought were obvious terms for peace in Ukraine.

I was wrong. The people in charge of our country (and they don't include Joe Biden) apparently desire an actual shooting war with Russia, to which we move closer every day. Why they think they could control or manage such a conflict to keep it at a "low" level of carnage and loss of life is beyond me.

I will state, however, that "the easy availability of guns" to good people in this country (and they've never been harder to get than right now) is not the problem, and more gun control is not the solution. There are many proofs of this, but one story which will serve and which probably didn't reach Willjohn in Australia is that another July 4 mass killing had been planned but was fortunately prevented by a citizen's tip. This was in Richmond, VA, and the alleged plotters were both illegal aliens. That means their possession of guns was already as illegal as could be. This recalls also the terrible Boston Marathon bombing in which the killers used a bomb (completely illegal for anyone to make or possess) but also had handguns in violation of both Federal and Massachusetts law. The obvious conclusion is that people who are already risking the death penalty by mass murder (although not in Illinois or Massachusetts) are not going to be deterred by the possibility of a prison sentence for illegal gun or bomb possession. (Do I need to add that both bombs and guns are easy to make?)

There are some things than can be done, beginning with locking up (not just legally disarming) provably dangerous people, something that the political Left forced us to give up some years ago. But fixing a sick society is going to take some time, especially when the American Left is actively encouraging violence against those they disagree with. (See, for example, the threats against the Supreme Court Justices made by irresponsible politicians and very nearly acted upon in the case of Justice Kavanaugh, although the media did its best to bury the story).

Vladimir Putin scares me. He threatens the West with his nukes if we do too much to help the Ukrainians, but if we cave in and let him have all the land that used to belong to the Soviet Union, he's not going to stop there. And I wonder if he's going to take over here without firing a shot following the mid-term election.

I consider myself a "moderate" on the gun issue. I believe that law-abiding citizens should be armed (should they choose to be) but it is too easy for criminals to obtain military-grade weapons. However, the biggest problem with "gun control" is that I don't trust the people who would be in charge of confiscating them. How many illegally-obtained guns are there that criminals have gotten their hands on AFTER they had already been "taken off the streets"?

Longer sentences for violent crimes might help, but we already have more people locked up than any other "civilized" country. I suppose the "For-Profit" Prison system has a lot to do with it. There's no motivation for rehabilitation. That would deprive them of their return business. It might help if we reserve the cells for the worst criminals and come up with some kind of diversionary program for drug possession in small amounts.

Obviously you and I have some disagreements on some major political issues, but I'm glad we can get along and not take things personally.

Humiliation is not something that's foremost in my mind, and consequently, not usually on the mind of my male characters. When Katie gets spanked, her punishment is a sore backside... and the motive for the spankers is usually getting to watch her buttcheeks wiggle and squirm and turn red.
