in the Dave Carney drawing i thought it was a nice depiction of the cane landed on her bottom even though, as you mentioned, it would have been long gone by the time she could reach back. i have to wonder if Carney didn't do it this way on purpose though just to enhance the overall effect. by doing it this way he can show more aspects of the caning in a single pic so i'm figuring he's taking a bit of artistic license here. i too think the expression is a great one...........as if the cane landing completely took her breath away. thanks for locating the original printing of the Ward "well reared girls" spanking . nicely shaped ladies and a nice OTK scene over all. i like the way Ward was able to create the impression of silky, sheer, tight fitting panties on the spankee .from the kicking of the spankee, it obviously hurts but the expression on her face is almost as if she can't figure out what's happening . Herc Ficklen does a nice job of drawing the spankee in the "hide tanning" drawing. her breasts are a bit big but perhaps that's why her front half is so far down and her bottom is so high . it's nice of the proprietor to provide this service for free ..............especially since she seems to be enjoying it too . thanks for the continuing updates . phil

Thanks for the update. I want you to know that I appreciate the time and effort that you put into your site. This week, my favorite addition is the Herc Ficklen "hide tanning" cartoon. I enjoy most of Ficklen's cartoons, because, even without the ink washes that Wenzel, Ward, Decarlo, and Stiles used, he still managed to make the women to look round and appealing. The dead animal int the woman's hand indicates that she hac gone to the fur trader for a different kind of "hide tanning", but the look on her face seems to say that she's not too surprized to be turned over the fur trader's knee... and that she's perhaps resigned herself to the prospect of getting spanked. I had seen that cartoon somewhere else before, but not at such a high resolution. Thanks for posting it.

As for the Bill Ward one, I would've liked it a whole lot more if, instead of having one girl spank the other, BOTH of them were being spanked by men! Ward was really good at the F/F stuff, but that's not what I prefer.

I certainly understand that M/F is preferred over F/F, and that OTK spanking is preferred by more people compared to caning. I had to give up the possibility of OTK spanking when I decided to do the Carney mini-series, because I've never seem him use anything but the cane or very similar implements. With the Humorama Series, I've been trying over the past couple of months to get through all the non-OTK stuff, and next week's wrestling spanking is the last F/F scene I have. There will still be a few non-OTK cartoons, but I promise that as the series is concluding we'll go out on a high note with M/F OTK and, if possible, a Secretary Spanking!

It's been a while since I updated the Comics Spanking Data Base, so let's go through five motley examples which take us past 590 total spankings:

1. Choice Comics #3 (1942, month unknown but suspect it’s March-April, Great Publications) – Bruce Gordon/two natives, bamboo cane, M/M. Less said the better.
2. Dixie Dugan (date unknown, but appears to be Sunday strip, McNaught Syndication) – M/F, Mr. Dugan/Imogene, hand
3. Funland Comics #1 (1945, no month, only issue, Croydon) – Mommy/Angel, F/F, funny animal, hand
4. Book of All Comics (Fox, 1945, only issue, Obrine Twins strip) M/M, Captain Kidd/Obrine Twins, hand, punishment for chasing undersea animals
5. Marvel Family #15 (Sept. 1947, Fawcett, PeeWee Pete strip) Father/PeeWee Pete, M/M, hand

While I find it rather interesting that two of these titles had only one issue, with that one containing a spanking, I would have hoped that more than one would be M/F. That one is from Dixie Dugan (the seventh from that strip!) and features young Imogene on the receiving end. Because of her age I'm not going to post it, and the others aren't even worth thinking about, but as usual interested persons can get all the details from the DB or write me for the spanking pages.

The New Year has been good already with 8 new spankings located - details in the end-of-the-month report.

Now for the updates:

• I've neglected the Events Page for a couple of years, mainly because I've lost interest in attending spanking events, but for those who are still interested I've updated the dates (where available) of some 2013 spanking parties and related get-togethers.
• I haven't done any new fiction in a while either, partly because it takes me so long to code fiction pages (I have to do the paragraphing manually to avoid living with ugly machine-generated code). Queen Tutankhamun wrote a long story in which her alter-ego gets several public spankings, and was good enough to send me an excerpt, Kemet 2, for which she even did her own illustration. This female pharaoh certainly deserves to be spanked, as does in all likelihood the author herself!
• We begin a new series featuring the cartoons of Kevin Karstens and Bawdy Bard with the teens of 6teen, now all grown up at 8teen and spanking away!
• Humorama update: One of Bill Ward's best spanking cartoons, it's M/F and features a husband who's serious enough to roll up his sleeves. New scan - also, Steve W. locates the missing hairbrush!
• Humorama Series #122: The last of Kirk Stiles' F/F "spankers" was ahead of its time - it takes place in the middle of a F/F wrestling match!

hmmmm, i read "Kemet 2". you're right. it was a bit hard to follow. i may go to the link you provided and read some more later. i too am unfamiliar with 6teen. i certainly like this "particular" application though the drawing is pretty nicely done although i was wondering about the OTK position. it seems like his legs should have been closer together to keep her supported. i wonder if it was done this way to show her breasts which would have been hidden behind the spanker's leg otherwise? i thought the Ward "shirtsleeve" spanking was totally fascinating . i loved the large size original art with all the scribbling and changes around the edge. all the detail is just amazing and gives me a much better idea of just how much work went into these drawings.........especially considering how little they were paid for them. i agree with you about the OTK position. i like the way her bottom is slightly higher than her head and i also like the way he is holding her down with his forearm on her head . i looked at the full size drawing and even focused on his hand and it was apparent that something didn't look quite right but i couldn't put my finger on it until i read what you had to say and then looked at it again. then i could see where the curled fingers had been erased. i do agree that this is one of Ward's best spanking drawings. nicely shaped bottom on the spankee and as always, i love the garter belt and hose and Ward did a nice job of making the panties look sheer . not only a really good spanking drawing but also i really liked seeing the original art and all the changes that went on . i never heard of female wrestlers getting spanked until recent years so i would agree that Stiles has anticipated this by a few decades...............or perhaps this was just a favorite fantasy of his . the referee seems interested . another good batch of updates. thanks, phil

The Bill Ward one was by far my favorite this week. It must be one of his earlier drawings, before he decided to make women's breasts look like zeppelins! The OTK position and the look on the couple's faces makes me wish he had done more of them like this one! Some of Ward's later drawings look brutal. This one looks playful. And Ward was certainly a master of shading and highlight! Expecially on women's clothing. Her stockings and her panties look more like a realistic drawing than a cartoon.

Yes, this wasn't exactly Stiles' best, but you'll be glad to know I did recently discover another excellent Stiles "spanker" among Mike's collection that somehow I had managed to miss when going over it two years ago! It's so good I'm thinking of concluding the Humorama Series with it.

As for Doctor Cylon, I've finally run out of all the material he sent me - 170 pages in his gallery plus a few I posted elsewhere. There is at least one more that didn't download correctly, and it's always possible he's still working on some new ones that we'll get to see eventually. I miss doing them every week also - it was the most "regular" series, in a certain sense, that I ever did on CSR.

By an interesting coincidence, we will soon be revisiting one of Doctor Cylon's early animations - at least, I believe it's his - in a different form, for after three years, I've finally gotten back to working on that "Spank Wonder Woman" interactive game. Last night, I got it working for the first time - press any key, and the paddle smacks WW on the bare behind! Loads of fun, and I'll be presenting it for your delectation in the next few weeks.

interesting information and history on the spanking from TAR #3 . this girl certainly deserved a spanking for sure and i was happy to see her getting it . i really like the OTK position on this one although, like you, i would like to have seen her bottom better defined as Spiritworks did. i also loved the shadows of the onlookers watching from behind the rock . i reviewed the Skygirl special feature and considering all the "interesting" positions used by Matt Baker, i'm surprised he didn't do more spanking scenes. i particularly liked the scene where Skygirl had to shed her clothes. Baker did an excellent job of showing her bottom through the sheer fabric of her panties so i'm kind of surprised that he didn't do a better job of outlining Linda's bottom in the spanking scene? this week's drawing by Karstens s very similar to the one you posted last week...............both in the OTK position and also the hand cuffs. i liked your comments about the sexual behavior of this one. it looks like our spankee is really loving the spanking that she hates getting . i also don't know anything about this cartoon so i'm a bit confused. you mention that she is from an early human civilization but his clothing is modern and he is wearing glasses. i have a hunch there's more to this story than i am aware of . i like the Ward "cocktail party spanking" even though it isn't OTK . our spankee looks really surprised at this turn of events...........so much so that she dropped her dress when the spanking started . perhaps that's why both feet aren't on the floor. she may have given an involuntary kick when the spanks started landing . At this time, bikinis were still a new invention, and Linda is wearing the older two-piece style that preceded them. This was something of a mystery to me until I got at look at some of the non-spanking panels in Frontier Romances #1 (which of course had its own rather infamous spanking scene). I had always thought the spankee there had been wearing shorts, until the non-spanking panels revealed it was really part of a swimsuit.

We all wish Matt Baker had done more spankings, and I really have no idea how he felt about doing them. But as he worked from full scripts, unless the writer called for one it would have been difficult for Baker to just sneak one in somehow. There do seem to have been a lot of spankings just at this time (1949). In addition to these two, eight other M/F spankings are listed in the Comics Spanking Data Base, plus I just confirmed one more this week, for a total of 11 M/F spankings in 1949! Perhaps the likeliest explanation is that the Romance genre was just taking off, added to the fact that this was still before the Code and before the pressure had really begun to mount.

The answer may be that someone else inked over Baker's pencils, but who that could have been is still a mystery. The inker has the last word where pencils and inks are done by different people, and some teams just work better than others. Some examples would be Gene Colan/Tom Palmer, Ross Andru/Mike Esposito, and of course Superman's greatest artistic team, Curt Swan/Murphy Anderson. In the case of TAR #3, Baker is thought to have pencilled three stories and the cover, which wouldn't have left him much time for inking.

the comic book secretary spanking is interesting. nice bending over position of the spankee with her bottom thrust out . it's too bad we don't have any information about this one. i don't know about anyone else but the whole scene makes no sense to me as is, so some context would be good............as would a better scan. it's a good thing for her that i'm not the one spanking her because when she asked for it to be harder and acknowledged that she deserved it, i would probably have used that handy chair to sit in while i turned her over my knee and raised her skirt for the rest of her spanking . i enjoyed your speculation on who drew it and the possible publication it might have come from. maybe we'll get lucky and you'll find the whole story somewhere. i certainly hope so as i'd enjoy finding out just how close you were. while the "beast" seems to be enjoying his task i don't think he's having as good a time as the "beauty" is . she seems to revel not only in her spanking but also in her exposure:D . the obvious worry on her face and her tears forming are an interesting combination with her thoughts............seems right to me . more interesting information on the Scarpelli secretary spanking. you mention that the spankee doesn't seem to be wearing any panties..............a bare bottom spanking in Humorama . i have to wonder if he could have gotten away with this if he had drawn her panties down at her knees..........which would have taken away the ability to deny her bottom was actually bare? in any case Scarpelli does a fine job of drawing those bare cheeks which look very shapely and appealing as a matter of fact, i think her entire body is very well proportioned and appealing. Scarpelli seems to be better at drawing the body than he does the face however. she looks kind of box headed to me and not too feminine. i like the wrist watch spanking as my wife would probably have used the same sarcasm and irritated expression if i tried to use this flimsy excuse to spank her . again, interesting speculation as to the artist's identity and the discussion of "Stare" and the different formats. interesting Wonder Woman spanking game . too bad we can't get the same viewpoint as an actual spanker would . more good updates this week . thanks, phil

Hiya Web-ed... This week's updates brought a big smile to my face.

Like many other folks who follow comic spankings, I have long wondered about that panel that shows a young lady in "secretary" clothes, bending over to receive swats from a fellow office worker (he's male). And yes, her comment about "Harder! I deserve it!" is wonderfully titillating.

Unfortunately, those of us who have seen copies of this panel over the years still don't know whence this drawing came, from what comic or from what cartoonist, and as you mentioned, we still don't know the plot that culminated in this cute scene. Since I have been a member here at CSR, I have often wondered what YOU, Web-ed, would say about this panel once you got around to posting it. Shame that even you, the foremost researcher in the art of comic book spanks, don't know the toon's background. But the first scan you show on the Updates page is the best I've seen, so I'm super-grateful that you brought it to us. That's progress of a sort, I guess.

I can offer you this clue: The lady being paddled is wearing a skirt that is a dead ringer for the skirts developed in the 1950s, under the umbrella "The New Look," by designer Christian Dior. 'Tis said that the high point of "The New Look" came in 1957... and at any rate, the long, wide calf-length poodle skirts developed by Dior and his imitators had a very short shelf life. By the early 1960s, women went back to wearing knee-length skirts, and that of course evolved into the Miniskirt Era. So the best place to look for this cartoon would probably be the mid-1950s.

The second toon you give us this week is the best of the bunch, for it is the beautiful drawing of Disney's "the Beast" swatting "Belle" as she bends over the spanking horse, her hands tied together. This drawing is a glory to behold, as Kevin Karstens has so faithfully depicted it, even to the anthropomorphic paddle in the Beast's hand. It's a win-win for everyone, as even "Belle" enjoys her spanking!

As I've said, the Beauty and the Beast drawing is the best one this week. It's a shame that I will not be able to save it to my own files, since I collect only M/F OTK and no nudity. But it's a guilty pleasure for me, so I expect I will revisit this toon in the CSR boards for quite some time.

The Henry Scarpelli toon, showing a shapely miss bending over for a "tardiness" spanking, is quite nice also. I see that you have found a scan that includes a bit more of the lady's legs than we had in the previous scan. Speaking as a professional cartoonist, I strongly suspect that if we could find a scan of the complete cartoon, it would show us the rest of her, including her feet, and probably also including the artist's signature. Single panels are not complete without that info.

And of course I love the wristwatch cartoon, showing a fellow who is "winding" his watch by spanking his lady. I agree with you that the lady is probably being ironic with her comment that it's "wonderful" that he can wind his watch while he spanks her. Hmmm... did you mean ironic or sarcastic? Either way, we get to see the spanking, and it's presented to us in a conventional way. The man has his lady over his lap, he is spanking her vigorously, and she is wearing a blouse, a skirt, and high heels. Nothing exotic, just a good ol' OTK spanking. Just the way we like it.

The pic of "Wonder Woman" getting an interactive paddling is okay as far as the artwork goes. As I mentioned before, I am not a big fan of nudity in cartoons, so I won't be keeping this one. But a good effort by Doc Cylon, or whoever concocted this drawing.

Another great effort by you, Web-ed. Hope you keep 'em coming. We are all grateful for your efforts on our behalf. And of course I will be keeping my eyes peeled for any cartoon spankings that may have escaped your intensive research.

First Off great this week drawings!! and second as much as I love Doctor Cylon`s Spank Wonder Woman Game and how beautiful she looks with arms ties and big shapely bottom sticking out waiting for the paddle the only problem I have with this is her voice! WOW!! She sound just like Spike the dog from Tom And Jerry! Really love whacking WW bottom something she been needing for some time but the sound of her voice was weird so I turn off the sound while I continue to spank her Only wish she sounded like Linda Carter from the tv show or the Wonder Woman in the cartoon Super Freinds a sexy Ouch would have been fine Great work Doctor Cylon can`t wait to see a Super Girl game only I hope we could spank her Over the knee Like I said last week Kevin Karstens must be into Bondage and discipline juding by his drawings and his Beauty And The Beast prove just that To me it seem like Belle the one who wanted this kind of treatment and The Beast is just going along Think The Beast would have perfer spanking her otk! love how the strap is enjoying himself landing over and over again onto Belle`s perk rear And The Beast seem happy too although Belle want him to spank harder ! Thanks so much for the opdate (and upgrade) on this one! So now we know this was by Scarpelli, not O'Brien. There are similiarities between the two cartoonists, but Scarpelli doesn't have his lady doing an Exorcist head-turn! About her undergarments... (or lack thereof!) I actually think that she is wearing panties, the cami-kncker type, as you sometimes call them, and they're just riding up because she's bent over. Or, I guess she might be wearing a short half-slip and no panties. Either possibility was quite daring for its time!

The Karsten drawings you've been posting look great... except for one thing: All of the women have their hands tied. Belle is completely bound! I've never liked bondage in conjunction with spanking. I think a man should either be strong enough to hold a woman across his lap with one hand while he spanks her with the other... or persuasive enough to make her assume the position willingly! Well... that's just my opinion.

My favorite cartoon from last week was the Bill Ward one with the couple getting ready to go to a party. I like the old Bill Ward stuff, from the days before he decided to give his women breasts the size of beachballs.

hey, just to point out about the interactive thing, it didn't work for me cos i've disable java due to the major security issue about it at teh moment. far as i can tell it's version 7 that's problematic, i use 6 but i've disabled it anyway cos there's varying comments about this issue having been present for some time. i take it everyone's aware of this but i thought i'd mention it just in case.
