At the end of the story, she's changing clothes in her own office in the bookstore she owns. He has an office too, but his is wood-panelled, and hers has purple walls.

Bullmoose manages the store, and has since Katie's father owned it, but technically, she's been HIS boss ever since she inherited ownership.

When Katie's father hired Bullmoose, he told him that he would be the store's manager... AND Katie's conscience... so his exact position is a bit complicated. And then he complicated things further by marrying her.

To put things as simply as possible, she's the boss in the family business, and he's the boss in their relationship.

Bullmoose married the heiress and took responsibility for controlling her misbehaviour.

This wasn't a typical spanking for Katie, but it was cute and (emotionally) warm - obviously it was also physically warm for Katie ! A nice scene.

So, will the new-style panties protect Katie from getting another spanking? Since nothing else she's tried has ever worked, I'm inclined to answer in the negative.

Even armour underpants did not protect her in the past.

Katie tried to use a steel-reinforced girdle to keep from getting birthday spankings. (It didn't work.)

I never used that inventor again in a story, other than showing him standing in line for one of Katie's other birthdays. Maybe I should bring him back.
