Last time we saw a fake Nancy Drew cover; this time we have a fake or modified cover to a Charlton romance comic book also discovered by Alan. "The Soundly Spanked Nurse" was of course never a series title, although it would have made a fine story title in a series like Career Girl Romances. Our career girl here is purportedly no stranger to spanking:
"Nurse Betsy Smarting was no stranger to a thorough spanking, but things were about to heat up when she met a doctor with no patience..."Our young doctor may not have much patience (reminds us of the old Ben Casey TV series, which should have had Casey spanking a nurse but never did) but he does have a full-sized fraternity paddle. "Things" (mainly Nurse Smarting's smarting behind) are about to heat up for sure!
The two figures do appear to have been taken from a Charlton comic, but possibly not from a cover, and we simply could not examine every Charlton romance cover in any case, so the exact source remains unknown for now. Whatever it was, this is a nice fake, and nurses always seemed likely spankees to us. Thanks once again to Alan for digging this one up.
