It's CSR's Anniversary!

April is here, and with it CSR's 14th Anniversary. Yes, it was 14 years ago on a date in April future scholars will long struggle to identify (because I forgot to record it ) that I uploaded the first few pages and launched the site. Perhaps it's just as well that 14 is sort of an odd anniversary (though an even number) because I simply haven't been able to produce any special feature this year due to lack of time. What I'd like to do is write a series of relatively short posts in a new topic talking about what I'd like to do with CSR and how much of that is likely to come to fruition in the foreseeable future. But let's take a quick inventory here first:

These are impressive numbers, certainly, although we can see that the total number of pages on the main site hasn't grown very quickly since we had 1234 four years ago, which translates into 67 new pages per year or only a little more than 1 per week. The Bulletin Board has grown much more quickly, and the reason is obvious: I've got a lot of help over here, whereas I have to individually write and code each new page on the main site. Also, when I merely update an existing page of course the total page count doesn't increase (only the word count !).

CSR's strengths and weaknesses flow mainly from these basic facts: we have an awful lot of great spanking material here with more to come in the future thanks to the assistance of too many people to name and of course my own not-insignificant efforts. On the other hand, we're still something of a one-man-band type of operation, with a single person doing all the technical work along with much of the writing and editing. This limits our rate of growth, but perhaps that's not too much of a problem. In another post we should consider the appeal of CSR and whether it extends to younger generations, since many of us have reached or are rapidly approaching an age at which we could be grandparents.

O.K., I want to keep these posts short so I'll just sign off with my continuing promise that no matter how hard things may be, I intend to continue with CSR as long as I'm around, although at some point I'm going to need an apprentice, which will make for a very interesting job description .

When I first found this site I couldn`t believe what I was seeing plenty of spanking from comic books and magazines growing up a spanko I always loved comic books and search many of them for spankings CSR you guys did a Fantastic job finding nearly every spanking in comic ever old and new plus the info to go along with them your really know your spanking omic Hope to see many more years of CSR !!! Happy Anniversary CSR!

I can't remember when I first laid eyes on this excellent website, but I was truly amazed to find that someone out there -- i.e., YOU -- had the same perverted fetish that I myself have nursed for lo, these many years!

I spent most of the 20th century quietly dreaming up scenes of males spanking gorgeous females over their knees. Occasionally -- TOO occasionally -- a scene like that would pop up on our movie and TV screens, and the world seemed like a happier place, for a while. But as the deadly scourge of Feminism gained traction, the number of scenes of male/female spankings began to dwindle. Like most spankos, I began to fear that those lovely scenes would disappear forever. But then, you created the Chicago Spanking Review and the world woke up to find that M/F scenes, properly displayed, could brighten our days again.

As I say, I don't know when I first saw CSR, but trust me it is the most glorious jewel on the Internet.

And I love your suggestion about a secretary - imagine what her job description would look like: "Must be willing to accept OTK spankings for any spelling errors and to bend over her desk to receive paddle-swats for any other screw-ups..." I'd actually forgotten this topic was out here, but having stumbled over it again I'll put my remaining 20th Anniversary stuff here rather than cluttering up the Weekly Updates topic with it. Let's continue the Honor Roll:

Mattias – tremendous help with our big Phantom blowout, supplying some great scans from foreign-language editions.
Metric Pete - after doing a Supergirl spanking on his own, contributed a Batgirl paddles Supergirl scene we requested.
Michael Gray – contributed “Spanked Daughters of the Slapstick” to the Articles Section, where we really needed some help because we mostly had done all the articles ourselves.
Michal Valášek – Provided a huge amount of information on the Czech cartoonist Neprakta as well as some helpful translations.
MikeD – has given us a lot of newspaper material we haven’t even gotten to, also allowed us to reprint his fiction, and by turning over his Humorama collection got us started on our quest to find and post every Humorama spanking cartoon.
Monk – commissioned some spanking art from Congolike which we gladly reposted, and identified the source of some comic spanking panels.
Obo - commissioned "Bikini Girls Spanking" from Frans Mensink (see it in the Art Gallery) to accompany his story "Teresa Scalia: Barbara's Bawdy Beach Brawl."
Oxken – recolored and reworked some classic spankings from comics and cartoons.
Pablo - reworked a number of spanking comic panels and cartoons by altering the spankee’s expression and baring her bottom.
Pewdiepie - identified several important scenes from Archie comics and has posted other material on Deviantart.
Rob - identified an old B & W spanking photo from the ‘50’s we’d only been able to refer to as “Retro Wrongo”.

Robin – Not only helped with information on spanking and spanking-related video and comics, he went above and beyond the call of duty by supplying us with a small library of Archie material which finally allowed us to indentify some of the classic spankings of Betty and Veronica.
Solicitus - helped with Li’l Abner and a few other things.
SP Anka – one of our “Young Artists” interviewees and contributors. She is still active 14 years later, and I'm sure I've got one or two of her drawings in the files.
Phil K. - helped us out with The Gambols.
Pygmalion - in my notes I have him sending me something called Toonerville Trolley comics - did we ever run this? I'll have to check, and now our search function is broken! He also has (or at least had - I'm not sure if he still does) some spanking stories on Amazon.
Steve W – contributed Humorama scans and discovered that Humorama had revived the old girlie title Wink.
Phil Sweetspot – told us all about a spanking mention in the television series The Lieutenant (which I found and copied some years ago but have never gotten around to editing. I still hope to bring to CSR readers someday). Of course, his more recent contributions have been with comic strips and other newspaper material, and they have been massive. He was instrumental in our second great Comic Strip Series. The Newspaper Gallery now bears his name.
Tiptopper – has contributed examples and information from his vast collection of spanking material, including the Neprakta series and the comics Steve Canyon #4 and Big Ben Bolt #2.
Todd – did a number of colorizations of the classic Humorama spanking cartoons. I think I still have one of these that I haven't posted because I've been concentrating on completely new material rather than updates to existing pages, but someday...
Valorie – contributed her fiction.
Wolfie138 – Wolfie has spotted many an interesting item on ebay and has a sharp eye for F/F spankings. Some spanking characters from have occasionally appeared on our Home Page. Her work has a new address now but I can't find it and this new AI seems to have messed up the search function on the Home Page -rats! Now I've got something else broken that has to be fixed.
Yousuf - I can't find his contributions now and I'm getting very tired, but when I get the search function fixed I'll see what I can find. Apologies, Yousuf.

And last but certainly not least is the late Phil Overbarrel. He posted a monumental amount of his poser art for us here on this board and he is sorely missed indeed.

My personal thanks to each and every one of you, and again, I hope I haven't left anyone out. If I have, please let me know so I can correct the oversight.

I cannot believe I missed the anniversary date. I thought I was one of the first ones to join CSR, but now I see it has already been 20 years and I only have 15. Congrats on making this milestone. I also thank all that contributed to the site over the years.I have enjoyed all of them. I have started looking back through many of the forum posts and stories in the fiction section. It is too bad we were never able to get the commission for the post spankable winner in the poll. For a memory test do you remember who it was ( Brenda Starr) although I did not agree with the poll results as she had already been spanked twice already. Thanks for keeping CSR going and enjoy your day.
