Regarding "On the Beach" that film erred in having Melbourne as the southernmost populated City. Cities in Tasmania and New Zealand have never forgotten the insult.

Not enough proof for criminal prosecution, but we all know something shady was going on,

Before Groundhog Day, a couple of sci-fi authors had the idea for a repeating time-loop, but Groundhog Day brought the idea to the public in a big way. Of course, afterwards, a lot of popular T.V. shows utilized the repeating time-loop. By calling mine the "Groundhog Day Time-Loop" and placing it at the date of February 2, 1993, I'm acknowledging my source of inspiration.

I'm not sure, but I think I may be the only one who has used a repeating time-loop as an opportunity to prolong a spanking!

Although this story doesn't actually follow the formula that is used by romance authors when including a spanking in their story... I still consider it to be a romantic spanking, because Elaine and Grant are in love with each other.

Yeah. I understand how that inaccuracy would bother them.

Not many movies have been made about Kansas, There was Wizard of Oz... which doesn't mention what city or town Uncle Henry's farm is close to. There are certainly parts of Kansas that have the flat ground and the drab colors depicted in the movie.

I'd forgotten that detail from the film, Willjohn. I wonder why the screenwriter didn't research it a little better? No internet back then, but we had almanacs and encyclopedias in book form as all of us old guys around here remember.

Something else to remember about "On the Beach" is that in an otherwise grim story line, Gregory Pack gives the beautiful Ava Gardner a nice whack on her "southern hemisphere" with a boat oar!

I think this has been mentioned before on the Board, but there's no reason not to bring it up again even though it's not much of a spanking. (No OTK position and she wasn't bending over, either - alas!)

It was also claimed that Ava said that Melbourne was a fitting place to make a film about the end of the world. People in Sydney got a laugh out of that but it was never proved she said it.
