A Fifth O.T. Katie Thread

Hi, Dan. Thanks for your comments on my final chapter of The Black Bird.

you have dispelled a notion I had before. I always thought that Katie and Bullmoose lived together, but here we see Bullmoose saying to Katie:

"I came by your house last night, and you weren't home...."

So apparently they are lovers who maintain their own separate dwellings, apart from each other. That actually feels better to me, because long-term, I would like to see Katie get spanked by numerous characters, not only her boyfriend. And so far, we ARE seeing her get her spankings by lots of guys

I may not have made it as clear before, but yes, Bullmoose and Katie live separately and Bullmoose is a frequent visitor at Katie's home. (I haven't done a story that takes place in Bullmoose's home, but I suppose I should at some point.)

Here, you have supplied your heroine with the most completely weasel-worded explanation possible, with her speech to Bullmoose about her role in "national security." That's delicious. I'm hoping that there will be more stories involving Katie and her job at S.P.A.N.K., as I do prefer those over the ones that have her working for Fitz and Kauf.

I'm old enough to remember the Nixon administration, with all the crooks saying they did it for "national security", so that claim always makes me suspicious! Here, Katie truly believes the the work she does for S.PA.N.K. IS in the interest of our national security, but who can blame Bullmoose for being skeptical? And your other point, that you prefer her working for a spy agency rather than a non-descript office, has been noted.

I have not seen the clips of Aidan Kelly. I'll see if I cn find them.

It's a sad thing when I can't even keep up with our own CSR Resident Artists on their respective forums, but unfortunately that's what it's been like for me lately. Fortunately, others have picked up the slack, and I'm finally caught up. So let's see what we have with the last two episodes here.

The key element that makes Katie work is her total lack of awareness when it comes to spanking: she doesn't know that other women enjoy it, or that the men spanking her enjoy it, or that her next spanking is always right around the corner (although she does finally suspect sometimes right when the moment is finally at hand). Therefore, it makes sense for this element to feature prominently in the story's conclusion, first with Marie's spanking where it's obvious to everyone except Katie that Marie's into it (and good for her - where would we Tops be without women like that?) and then with the pat-on-the-"back" sequence, where every male in the area is lining up to give Katie a good smack! This was a very funny sequence, reminding me a little of Bo Brown's "Miss Gulick's Birthday" cartoon where all the men in the office are rushing in to form a spanking machine.

The rationale for Katie's final spanking was a good one - having to keep up appearances in case enemy spies are listening - and despite Katie's misgivings, our author does indeed choose to end the story with a close-up of her backside. This story was really a mammoth effort, b00m - 156 separate one to two-panel files, including the introductory title cards - longer than The Secret Spy and I think longer than any other Katie story you've done. But it was worth the effort, which I think we all here at CSR appreciate.

I think Katie's role as a secret agent would support future stories, but you ultimately have to go in the direction you feel is best.

I hadn't thought of the similiarity before, but yes! It is sort of like "Miss Gulick's Birthday". And I bet some of those men got back in line after they'd already had their turn!

I'm glad you liked the ending and agreed with my decision to bring Bullmoose into the story at the very end. And I figured most of the audience would appriciate the final fade-out!

Well... so far, the only three who have expressed an opinion regarding Katie's job, all want her to keep working tor S.P.A.N.K. I'll see if I can come up wtih another spy assignment for her. But first, I'm going to give her a little holiday time with Bullmoose.

For sunflower, and anyone else who is new to O.T. Katie, I'll just explain a little bit about the inspiration and development of my characters and her... uh... adventures.

Even when I was a kid, i liked to draw pretty women in a position to be spanked, and sometimes I made up stories about men who had good reasons (at least good reasons in my mind) to spank the women in their lives.

In 2001, I began to see some of Dan's Spanky Sal comics, and I decided that I needed to develop a character who had some traits in common with Sal, without being a direct rip-off of Sal. Of course, the main appeal of Sal is her naivete. She never suspects the REAL reason that all the men (and even some boys) in her life are so eager to jump on any excuse they can find to turn her over their knees for a good spanking. There were some good Humorama single-panel cartoons that... sort of... told the same kind of story, but Spanky Sal was the first SEQUENTIAL cartoon that featured such a character. Sal's wide-eyed innocence is the main inspiration that I took from Dan. Sal is basically a good girl, who is occasionally guilty of minor acts of "naughtiness", such as jaywalking in full view of a police officer, flirting with another guy in front of her boyfriend, and lying about her age on a job application.

Another thing that Katie has in common with Sal... and with most of the spankees from the Humorama cartoons, is that... we all know the REAL reason she gets so many spankings, and it's just a fortunate coincidence (for the men in the stories, that is) that she frequently commits acts of minor "naughtiness", so that they have a convenient excuse to turn her over their knees, and apply a firm hand to her tempting round bottom!

As for Katie's physical appearance... one of my biggest inspirations was Katherine Gilhooley McLintock, from the 1963 film, McLintock! With her beautiful face, her shapely long legs, and of course, that flaming red hair, Ms. Mclintock, and the brilliant actress who played the role, Maureen O'Hara, inflamed my youthful imagination from the first time I ever saw her. Adding to my excitement was the fact that, the first time I ever saw Ms. O'Hara was in the preview for McLintock! There she was, running all around town in her undies... and what happened when the man who was chasing her finally caught her? HE TURNED HER OVER HIS KNEE AND GAVE HER A SPANKING! WOW!

Of course, I used a few of the cartooning techniques I saw the Humorama cartoonists use. Compared to Ms. O'Hara, and most other real-life women, Katie has a torso that's been reduced to emphasize her big round bottom and her boobs. Her butt and thighs are more or less realistically proportioned, but the lower part of her leg has been lengthtned just slightly. I'm not quite sure how it works, but somehow, giving a cartoon woman longer legs below the knees makes her sexier. And then, I had to compromise the length of her arms to compensate for her long legs and short torso.

I also simplified her facial features. I put big, bold lashes on her upper eyelids and skip the lower ones. There is very little detail in her nose... usually just a dark line to indicate the shaded area underneath, or an upside-down 7 for the profile. I try to put enough detail in her face to show her expressions, but not so much that it interferes with the overall "cartoon-y" look I'm aiming for.

I really enjoyed your post. it was interesting to see what the inspiration for Katie was. how ever you draw her body, it seems to work. and I can identify with her big bottom. my isn't as big as hers but it's not tiny either. and I also have red hair. not the red she has, but red hair. and too bad there aren't a lot of men willing to spank a naughty girl these days. her facial features are just fine. they are not overdone and I always get what her expressions are conveying. I can tell you really enjoy doing Katie and I want you to know I really enjoy reading her adventures. I have been real busy but I want to get back to your old ones. I also want to catch up on dans, and maybe check out the Humorama ones. there is so much on CSR for me to see it will take awhile

so again, I liked your post, I love Katie and thanks for sharing. I look forward to more and I will comment on any new ones your post.

This is fascinating, B00m! I remember Katie from a few years ago now - perhaps more years than it seems - on The Artastic Forum, but I didn't know anything about your inspiration for the strip. Certainly Maureen O'Hara made a perfect spankee! Anyway, I'm glad to have Katie gracing this forum with her antics.

By the way, if you ever do want to do a poll, this forum will support one - just check the "Poll" box under options. You can only do this with a new topic, however - for instance, you couldn't start a poll way down on this thread where we are now. I haven't done any myself in a long time - it might be a good idea, but I've been so busy and had so much material I couldn't get to, that I just haven't.

Well, I, for one, am glad that your bottom isn't tiny. One of the things that makes women diferent than men is wide hips and round buttocks... and as the French say "Vive la difference!" To me, it's very important that a beautiful woman should have a bigger rear end than a man of similar height and weight. ...Just for visual asthetics... and besides, a nicely developed gluteus with an adequate layer of fat between the muscle and skin is what makes pretty women so much fun to spank!

What the Brits call "gingers". The red blush of a spanking shows up so much better on fair skin!

as a child I was a natural redhead complete with some freckles even. nowdays I have to give mother nature a little help on that front. I do hope that my spanker does get an enjoyable view of my red bottom as I am fairly light skinned.

No. There's not a lot for Thanksgiving. I recall seeing something a long tome ago... maybe a drawing by Paula... of a Pilgrim man spanking a Native American woman while a Native American man sat facing him and had a Pilgrim woman across his lap.
