The Tardis has always been described as bigger on the inside than on the outside.
I can remember one of the early doctors talking about parts of the Tardis he had not seen yet.

Re: Katie's Big Blue Box Adventure - Ch. 1
O.K., this is the first chance I've had even to see this surprising but very welcome (and timely) addition to this forum, let alone comment on it, so let's hope I don't miss anything.
We get off to a really good start here with Bullmoose chasing Katie (with a hairbrush!) which, come to think of it, is pretty much where we left off last time ! I can't think of a better way to begin Katie's new adventure as it's quite a funny, if expected, image. I couldn't help but noticing and being struck by all the blue coloring in different shades in panels 1-3. Now, obviously this isn't going to be anything like that "Blue World" issue of Swamp Thing (see 2nd series issue #56) way back when, with the colorist having to color everything, even Swampy himself, with various shades of blue(!), but I liked the coloring and thought it at least deserved a mention.
I won't say anything about the jiggling that follows because it's already been adequately covered by others. Phil mentioned, in discussing Katie's rather preposterous equation, that the product of the first two terms would be zero. There's actually a third joke here (the first being the silly equations in old sci-fi movies, or perhaps the sight gag of Katie bending over), namely that Katie's equation actually turns out to be right: ignoring the "bottom" line, the first line is left with
FANNY + HAND which equals the spanking Katie's sure to get later on .
Of course, that won't help her build a time machine, so we'll chalk up her ability to do so to artistic license, and any contraption that has to do with spanking (everyone remember the DAN-O-MATIC?) is fully licensed around here . Even so, Katie's ability to deal with advanced physics may well be doubted , which probably explains why her time machine takes her further back than she intended.
What remains is exposition and I don't need to dwell on it. Suffice it to say that we're off to a good start, and B00m himself promises (panel 14) that "I think it's safe to say, knowing Katie, that she's going to get a spanking before this adventure is over!"

Of course she will get a spanking. An unspanked Katie Tanda would be as pointless as a rugby game without a ball.

Re: Katie's Big Blue Box Adventure
Katie's time machine is blue, wooden, and rectangular like the Tardis... but it may not be bigger on the inside... To tell the truth, I just haven't decided. It may be just as small on the inside as a portaloo, but even more crowded because of all the electronic equipment... like that bulky flux capacitor!willjohn wrote:The Tardis has always been described as bigger on the inside than on the outside.

I haven't drawn the inside of Katie's time machine, and I think I won't, just so everyone can imagine it in their own way.

Hi, Web-ed.
It's always nice to read your comments.
I hope you're enjoying this one so far. I'll be posting chapter two soon.

Yeah. When I ended the last one, I always intended to pick up where it left off. It took me a bit longer than I originally expected, because I had a few plot dead-ends (And for a spanking story, a dead end is not a good thing!)web-ed wrote:We get off to a really good start here with Bullmoose chasing Katie (with a hairbrush!) which, come to think of it, is pretty much where we left off last time! The blue swirls on the title panel, and around the time machine as it disappears, are a direct rip-off of Doctor Who, as any fan of British sci-fi would immediately recognize. I just thought that, when and if anyone ever builds a successful time machine, it'll be blue, wooden and rectangular.web-ed wrote: I couldn't help but noticing and being struck by all the blue coloring in different shades in panels 1-3. True! And did you happen to notice the thing she said just before she began to write: that her equation would have to begin and end with 42, because it's the answer to everything? That's from Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, another masterpiece of preposterous British sci-fi. ...And... she said she'd have to include 2000 thirds, because it's such a beastly number. (If anyone didn't get that, try converting 2000 thirds to a decimal! )web-ed wrote:There's actually a third joke here (the first being the silly equations in old sci-fi movies, or perhaps the sight gag of Katie bending over), namely that Katie's equation actually turns out to be right: ignoring the "bottom" line, the first line is left with

Yeah. Her limited knowledge of temporal vortex physics and my desire to reintroduce the Neanderthal clone and the rogue time-traveler who were banished to the Stone Age in one of my earlier stories!web-ed wrote: Even so, Katie's ability to deal with advanced physics may well be doubted, which probably explains why her time machine takes her further back than she intended.

But what about the spanking she wanted to get away from in the first place?

That's it for chapter two... but if you're disappointed that chapter one didn't have any spanking, and chapter two only had one panel... I can tell you that things aren't going to stay that way for long!
