In fact, I used most of the panels from the last chapter over again... but I didn't think anyone would mind seeing each of the two girls get duplicate spankings! And how better to convey that they're stuck in the time-loop?

Hi Boom,

I noticed right away that you reused as many pics and parts of pics as you could for this episode. That's a real time saver and I often reuse things in my toons too. Of course, mostly what you've reused are pics that are good to look at anyway . I noticed in panel 04 that everything appears to be exactly the same except for the blue bar behind Elaine's talk bubble and it's not exactly in the same place. Is there a reason for that? In panel 05, Katie seems to be realizing something is different instead of gloating over Elaine's upcoming upending . I like Katie's surprised expression in panel 06 . You must have had this well planned as panel 08 and Katie's observation about Deja Vu fits just as well in this episode as it did in the last one . I like the way you modified panel 09 by taking out the part where Elaine is complaining about her poor hiney and using that space for Katie's talk balloon. It was a nice touch to have Katie turning so she appears to be talking to the viewers too and I noticed that she doesn't just turn her head but also her shoulders......nice touch . In panel 10, It looks like Katie reconsidered just walking right up to Mac as she did previously . That's OK though since I enjoyed seeing her sweating as Mac comes for her . I also noticed you added another panel and that's OK too since now we get to see Katie turned over from the other side . I was comparing panel 13 to panel 12 in the previous episode and I noticed everything is the same except the words "pat pat pat" aren't in the same place?? Did you have to do that because you changed the other words? I love the reverse angle view in panel 14, which you took from the previous panel 14 as Katie pointlessly argues that Mac has already given her this spanking . Looking back and forth at these 2 episodes is making my head spin . At the risk of repeating myself, you really had all this thought out in advance. the 2 panels 15 are again reverse angles . Of course, while Mac has different dialog, Katie's one line is exactly the same . I can totally understand why you wanted to reuse panel 16 Again, when I move back and forth between the 2, the words in the talk balloons change positions even thought they are the same words.......same thing with the time machine in panel 18. This is all very creative and I'll be looking forward to the next episode . Thanks, Phil

I certainly don't mind seeing panels repeated, especially when they contain spankings ! But let's talk about the Groundhog's Day Time Loop device: I for one think it's an excellent construct for use in a Katie adventure, because its logic results in Katie (and maybe Elaine) getting spanked over and over again , and that's the source of much of the humor in the strip. I love Katie's expression in Ch. 5 panel 13 - she's in deep trouble and knows it !

It appears that Cleanup Man is aware they're in the Loop but pretends he doesn't know so he can spank Katie a second time, which makes sense to me . But Katie herself being aware of the Loop is a bit of a puzzle - like Cleanup Man, it seems to me he should be the only one aware of the Loop. But I'm sure an explanation will be forthcoming, and if not, it's not too big a problem - we don't read OT Katie to help us better understand the space-time continuum .

Actually, I didn't noticed that before you called to to my attention. (By the way, that blue bar is Katie's time machine that Elaine just stepped out of. I was inspired to make mine blue and rectangular by B.B.C.'s Doctor Who series. WillJohn noticed the resemblance right away and called it a "tardis".) I think I just misplaced it a little... but I suppose I could claim that it was jostled by being caught in the "time-loop"

I never really decided what made her notice that the day was repeating... Maybe it was a residual sting from the spanking she got just before getting caught in the "time-loop".

Actually. I suppose it fits better in this episode. But maybe, what she felt before was more of a premonition.

I'm glad you like that. I used to like the old TV shows where George Burns would turn and talk to the audience. I think it's fun to have Katie do that now and then... especially in those moments when she suddenly realizes that she's about to get another spanking!

I think for a brief moment, she considered running away... but that wouldn't work, since she's stuck in 1993!

Yeah. I was going to move everything to the right of the panel and have some dialog on the right... but I changed it back and when I did, I didn't get the "pat pat pat" lined up just the same as before.

I love the reverse angle view in panel 14, which you took from the previous panel 14 as Katie pointlessly argues that Mac has already given her this spanking. Looking back and forth at these 2 episodes is making my head spin.

I did the same type of rotating viewpoint, but started with a different angle when she was being pulled into position... and I was hoping it would keep the "recycled" panels from being too monotonous.

You don't need to worry about repeating yourself... I sure did my share of repeating in this chapter!

Yeah. When I first thought about repeating a day, I decided for sure no matter what else I did, I'd re-use this panel!

I'm glad you like the "Groundhog Day" idea. I heard somewhere that if you rip off ideas from enough different sources, it's called "research". And I'm glad to know that you liked that expression in panel 13... I think she definitely knows she's in deep trouble at this point!

I don't really have a definitive explanation of how Katie knows she's in a "time-loop", except that maybe she still feels a residual sting from the spanking she got the first time around. Mostly, I thought it added to the fun to have her know she's repeating a day, and know she's getting a spanking that she's already gotten.
