Loved the second take of this scene! I know if I were in a situation like Frederick Graham in Kiss Me Kate and was the director-star, and I was giving a spanking in one scene, that scene would definitely take a lot of rehearsing! I'd want to make sure we got the dramatic nuances exactly right, of course, and "practice makes perfect".
I think I would too. I've heard of movies that required long rehearsals and multiple takes for a spanking scene. And I read that Paulette Goddard objected to Ray Milland giving her the full-on spanking during rehearsals for
Reap the Wild Wind. But, like you said, "Practice makes perfect"!
I read somewhere that multiple takes were needed when June Haver got spanked in
Look for the Silver Lining, and that, at one point the director, David Butler, had to show Gordan MacRae how he wanted it done!

Yeah, sure!
Sadly, I never heard or read anything about whether there were any long drawn-out rehearsals or multiple re-takes for the spanking of Maureen O'Hara in
McLintock!
For a stage play like
Kiss Me, Kate, the actor playing Fred Graham could insist on extra rehearsals for the spanking scene... just to get it right, of course! On the other hand, He could hope for the show to be a massive success and run for several years (which Kiss Me, Kate did!

I think Patricia Morison must've gotten over a thousand spankings in the role of Lilli! )

So everyone is satisfied - Kaylyn, for a job well done, Jack, for getting to spank Kaylyn again, Lizzie, at seeing the continuation by her great-granddaughter of the noble tradition she started, and of course we the readers as we watch Kaylyn rubbing her still-smarting backside.
Yes! I'm glad to know that you liked the ending for this one.
The next strip I post will feature Katie back in the starring role... and, of course, back in the O.T.K. position she's so well known for.
