The "Fly on the Skirt" gag is my favorite this week, since it is a man swatting a pretty lady with his open hand. The lady has a nicely-rounded backside that would surely tempt even a non-spanko to want to take a swat at it!
However, Ward made the same mistake with this picture as he did with the "Bank Overdraft" gag. When the woman is either walking, or kicking, whichever leg is behind will compress the gluteus on that side, pushing it up and out. Both of the women in these cartoons have the buttock above the forward leg pushed up and out. For an artist of Ward's talent, that is a glaring error! He must not have spent a lot of time studying the motion of women's rear ends, contemplating the bones and muscles that shape the outer skin!

Hiya Web-ed:

That's a pretty nice treat you lay out for us this Thanksgiving. The swat-the-fly gag is so old it's got whiskers, but I think it belongs in the category of oldies but goodies. In fact, in one of my very first experiences as a spanker I used a variation of that gag. I was a young teenager, impressionable as hell, and at a party I couldn't resist smacking another teen's (female, natch) bottom because she wore a polka dot dress. Hey, somebody's got to swat those dots, right? ;)

The Bill Ward toon, with the lady of the house spanking her maid, is nice to look at if you like F/F. At first I was stunned to read your comment that this toon first appeared in 1958, since I suspect that referencing a man as "Mr. Goldbals" back in '58 would have been considered a big fat no-no in the mass media. Upon reading further, I realize that the reference to Mr. Goldbals did not show up until the caption was rewritten somewhat later, in a second or maybe third publication of the toon. Whew!

The bend-over fly-swatter toon is cute, and I like that you have traced the origins of this "bend over and get a smack" type of entertainment. You say that "Ericson's cartoon is squarely in the tradition of a long line of humor cartoons along a similar theme going back to Vaudeville: a pretty girl (or a big woman) bends over and a guy tries to work up the nerve to give her a sharp whack on the fanny." You might also have mentioned Burlesque, although I don't know which came first: Burlesque or Vaudeville? I remember the scene in the film "Gypsy" (1962), where the traveling troupe is "shocked!" "shocked!!" to see a scene like that, a pretty woman bending over while a guy smacks her behind. Shocking, right?? :o

Good stuff here, Web-ed. Thanks again.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi WEB-ED CSR!!! The Fly Swat Cut-Away drawing is good and I love how the woman is bending over also love the gag the guy is either real tempted to kill the fly or swat her bottom  When it comes to drawing well built bottom women Bill Ward can`t be beat  Can`t blame the guy for wanting to swat those flys off that woman`s bottom even though it he knew it was poker dots on her dress :D really like how tight her dress is showing her nice round spankable buttocks :D also like the reaction she gives when swatted! things us guys would do to smack a pretty fanny!!remember seeing a gag where this guy pretended to be blind and using his walking stict whack the legs and bottoms of some beautiful young women  Nice drawing! Bill Ward F\F Rivalry drawing is great !!! even though it woman woman always wonder about f\f spanking to me a woman would rather punch or slap another woman before even thinking about giving her a spanking  maybe if she was a older woman or the other woman was weaker and the strongest lady decides to spank her as a form of humiliation which is ok to me :D but other wise it seem more sexual to me! anyway love how the spanker is position with the spankee firmly otk with large bottom up high! also love her choice of using a hairbrush to spank with meaning she really want to inflick pain on this girl`s rear  like the panty stocking and heels on the spankeee :D the other Ward drawing of the maid bending over while being spanks is good but I believed this is more of a one smacker than spanking drawing! like the very skintight outfit the maid is wearing also how low cut it is showing her large well drawn breasts!!! Love this weeks drawings 8-) THANKS!!!!

hi web-ed.

this is definitely the best scan of the Ward fly swatting toon. it's amazing how much difference a good, clear scan can make. from this one you can tell just how much time Ward took on the details. of course, my eye was immediately drawn to her nice bottom which is showcased nicely by the skirt and i think the overall effect is really enhanced by the wrinkles and shadows that Ward drew in the shirt..............wrinkles and shadows that show up much better in this scan :D . in the maid spanking, i see your point about the finishing effects and and i agree with you. the sheen of the clothing really stands out and was the first thing i noticed when i looked at the toon. in the bending over maid toon i thought the difference in the scans was nothing short of amazing. the expression of the spankee is almost invisible in the first scan but really jumps out at you in the new one and drew my attention right away. other details are similarly enhanced by the quality of the scan. as for the Ericson drawing, i think the would be spanker's intentions are perfectly clear from his expression and i really think this one could have gone without a caption altogether  . i really liked your discussion of the history of all these and especially the part about the Ericson drawing versus the start of "spankers" in July 1955. excellent updates this week :D . thanks, phil

Interesting observation. Ward got his start as a comics layout man, and while he eventually did a lot of figure-drawing at Quality and improved his skills he never was considered one of comics' premier anatomists. How the body is put together and the way it moves are difficult problems for the artist to master, and many never really do. I've made a similar critique in the past of Ward's habit of showing the spankee kicking her legs with flexion at the hip instead of bending the knee, which has the effect you mention of pulling the buttocks out of line. Inevitable when walking, it's a problem while spanking because you can't smack both sides equally.

You might also have mentioned Burlesque, although I don't know which came first: Burlesque or Vaudeville?
I think it's great that somebody here has actually tried out the "swat the fly" routine - and with some success! :D I wonder what the girl in the polka dot dress thought?

You're right about Burlesque - I should have mentioned it, and probably used it instead of "Vaudeville" because I'm only guessing that the "bend over and get a smack" gag was used there as well as Burlesque (the two forms seem to have developed in parallel, by the way). I think because there were a lot of "kick in the pants" moments in Vaudeville and because Benny Hill did smack-the-fanny gags along with obvious Vaudeville routines, I made a connection between the two which may not be historically accurate. When I revisit this gag in the future, which I well next year with an article on the history of the spanking cartoon, I think I'll just say it went back to Burlesque. The scene from Gypsy is available in the CSR Video Section in case anyone wants to see it.

Believe it or not, we've got three more "swat the fly" Humorama cartoons still to go! The first, which we'll see next week, is a variation in which mosquitoes are alleged to be alighting on a bikini-clad bottom; the second is another secretary spanking by Herc Ficklen which I hope to accompany by a video showcasing an actual fly swatter in the shape of a secretary(!); and the third is a strange one by Frank Beaven in which the spanker talks about using a fly-swatter but leaves it on a table and uses his hand instead! None of these is at all well-known and I hope will come as a pleasant surprise to CSR readers.

Weekly Updates for 11/30/2012

Post by web-ed »

It's the end of the month, so I've got some notes before we get to this week's updates.

First, I searched 2540 Golden Age comics pages, bringing the total to 396876, and found only 1 M/M scene as Spy Smasher paddles a couple of Nazis - a pretty miserable month. However, Robin discovered the hidden cache of an Italian collector, and when I checked it out it was something in excess of 150 spankings!. Now, this guy certainly took some of them from CSR, so he's an unknown CSR reader himself, but he also had a lot I'd never seen before. Most of this group, however, involve juveniles, funny animals, or both, so we won't be seeing them posted in CSR. The weirdest one had to be a parent/child seal spanking from an early issue of Aquaman!

I'm not even planning to bother putting most of them in the Comics Spanking Data Base because right from the start I knew there were going to be too many "Little Girl" spankings, for instance, for me to reasonably document them all. I think it's enough to have one or two listings in the DB for Little Lulu or Donald Duck without trying to sort them all out. The Harvey characters are also well-represented in this collection, but again, we really can't be bothered with Ritchie Rich or all those supporting players in Casper. Olive Oyl spanking Poopdeck Pappy is a more difficult call, and perhaps it should be in the DB, but it won't be posted, nor will any the other Popeye spankings unless they're M/F.

One bit of gold amid all this dross: what appears to be a genuine M/F scene from Blackhawk! Now, the Blackhawk strip was a logical place for a bad girl spanking, but I had just about given up hope because I've been through most of the team's adventures from their first incarnation at Quality Comics. This scene may have been later - the guy didn't identify the source, if he knew it, so I have to hold this one back while I try to find more information. Expect to see it as part of Super-Spanking Summer III.

On the Humorama side, I found a small-size line drawing by an unknown artist who seemed to work in the style of Reamer Keller. It's certainly unexceptional, but it is at least an honest-to-goodness M/F OTK spanking that I believe to be completely unknown, and it will be added to the Humorama Series.

Next, I completed some renovations of the Picture Gallery, the last of CSR's five visual galleries to receive this treatment. Mostly, this involved increasing the size of the thumbnails, but I also removed four paperback covers and put them in a new sub-gallery along with about 20 spanking covers from my files. You may have already seen most of them elsewhere since I'm not claiming to have discovered any new ones. The reason I did this is that I've never been too thrilled with spanking paperback covers - somehow they just don't grab me - and I didn't want to clutter up the main gallery with 20 or more new ones. Let me know what you think about this, please.

For links to this week's updates please go to the Home Page by clicking on "Chicago Spanking Review" at the top of this or any other Forum page.
  • Humorama update: Bill Ward's One Spank for Every Minute.
  • Spankings on the covers of cheap porno paperbacks - as I mentioned above, I removed the few I had in the Picture Gallery, added a bunch more, and put them all in a new sub-gallery of Paperback Spanking Covers.
  • Humorama Series #116: Another example of that corny old "swat the fly" spanking gag, but this time with imaginary mosquitoes and a bikini-clad bottom!

hi web-ed,

i thought the Ward "one spank for every minute" spanking was a good one. the position was good and i like the fact that the spankee is far forward with her head near the floor and her hair totally upside down which of course, puts her off balance with her bottom up high :D . as you mentioned, the expressions are good here too. the spanker is obviously enjoying herself while the spankee is both alarmed and dismayed. i still think that girls enjoy either spanking a friend or watching a friend, or sister, get a spanking, as in my current toon, way more than they are willing to admit. perhaps that's because they know their friend well and know she really needs a good spanking  . i really think the expressions tell the story here although the spankee's hand reaching back certainly adds to the effect :D . personally, i think the time on the clock is 2:30 ;) . i took a few minutes to look at your gallery of paperback covers and discovered one of them that i actually owned.i bought "The Scrambled Yeggs" years ago just for the cover. i bought it in a mainstream bookstore in Richmond, In. perhaps 40-45 years ago. i read the book, which wasn't all that interesting really and as i recall, our hero talks about his secretary having a drinking problem and some of the measures he took to try to solve this problem including spanking her. all it says is something like, "sadly, i spanked her". it seems to me that there is a haughty female that he actually takes down a peg but not by spanking per se. i don't remember all the particulars about this but somehow he beats her out of some money and comments, " i gave her a painful pecuniary paddling". these were the only mentions of spanking in the book. i thought the cover was nicely drawn and if they used it to get folks to buy this rather boring book, it sure worked on me  . i have to say that i like your ideas about a spanking PI much better ;) . i liked the time line you presented with the "mosquito swatting" drawing. it's interesting to see the development of such things :) . i know personally, i would much rather use my hand for this activity than a fly swatter :D . it seems to me that if a young lady is going to dress in a bikini and lie in this position it's probably because she wants to show off her bottom so i don't know why she would be puzzled when her boyfriend starts swatting the aforementioned bottom  . i like the 2 girls walking toward them. they are far enough in the background so that it is more of a "suggestion" of 2 girls but it's still enough to get me wondering what they are thinking about all this. perhaps they might be giggling or maybe they are watching longingly ;) . good updates this time. thanks for all the work you did this week which seems a considerable amount this week. phil

Hi WEB-ED CSR!!!!! Seem us spankos would do anything to spank a woman`s bottom can`t blame us  Thats why I love this week drawing 0f Imaginary Mosquitoes and Bikini Clad Bottom really like how the smacks seem some what hard and his wife facial expression shock  The wife also have a nice rear in her bikini :D This drawing and The Fly one reminds me of the time I was a teenager and use the old dust or lent gag on a few female classmates telling them they had something on the back of their jeans or skirts and ask to wipe it off with my hand oh how fun it was when the girl said yes and how I would whack their bottoms pretenting to clear off the dust  anyway I love these type of spanking gags 8-) Bill Ward One Spank For Every Minute drawing is good even though the otk position of the spanker is great the spankee doesn`t have a large bottom ! This is some what wierd from a Ward`s drawing! Also like the choice of spanking tool of the spanker a hairbrush and that she pretty well knows how to use it juding how the way the spankee is reacting! Give credit to Ward on making the female spanker one knee folding cause of the weight of the spankee a problem with F\F spanking how do a would holds another woman over her lap and keep her steady while spanking :?: Good drawing! Love the funny comments on Paperbacks Spanking Covers It a shame you can`t find these books kind of books anymore :x remember buying plenty back in the early 80s from the Adult book store now the only problem I had with some of these books was that even though they had a spanking drawing on the cover some never feature spanking in them  Plus these books had lots of sex written in them I later found out that books I brought from mainstream places like Drugstores or book shops had just as much spanking written in them than from those books got to hand it to female romantic novels :D Love to see more old covers THANKS 8-)

I think it's great that you actually bought one of these "mainstream" books years ago, Phil! I never read it myself, and in fact extracted that widely-seen picture from a non-spanking pop culture site. I'd always imagined that Shell Scott spanked some female involved in the case, but I certainly have no problem with secretary spanking :) . This was one of the four paperback covers I already had in the gallery, by the way, and it was fun revisiting it.

Glad you liked my sometimes-humorous description for the new paperback sub-gallery, Butch - I had some fun with this little project. And it's probable that I'll add another batch of covers in the future.
thanks for all the work you did this week which seems a considerable amount this week. phil
You're most welcome, Phil - it was a fair amount of work. I must confess, though, that when I do something like a gallery makeover or a long article, I generally split the work up over two or more weeks to lighten up the load just a little.

Weekly Updates for 12/07/2012

Post by web-ed »

For links to this week's updates please go to the Home Page by clicking on "Chicago Spanking Review" at the top of this or any other Forum page.

I put up the old "Christmas decorations" (Christmas-themed spanking cartoons) on the Home Page this week. In addition to the old favorites including Phil's with Santa's little helper being turned over his knee, I've added two new ones involving Krampus. In fact, I'm going to add two more next week and two more the week after that, so be sure to check them out on your way to the weekly updates.
  • Humorama update: Bill Ward's Good Man to Have Around the House.
  • We return to our series on Dave Carney with three girls who are to receive the cane, the first of whom is already holding her ankles (she's in real trouble now!).
  • Humorama Series #117: Another in our unconventional spanking sub-series and right out of Burlesque, this time a woman bending over to tend her garden realizes she shouldn't have left the gate open when she gets a sudden surprise! This is yet another CSR first. :)

hi web-ed,

first off, thanks for the page of Christmas toons............i really enjoyed them :D . it's nice to have one of my Christmas toons there but to tell the truth, the one i liked the best was the one by Jay Em of the young lady discovering that her present was indeed a hair brush...........especially considering the way she's dressed  . love her expression as she realizes just what sentiment it expresses  .............nice follow up pic on that one too :D . thanks for the info on the original appearance of the Ward "man around the house" spanking. your comments about the position of her legs are right, of course. in addition the front on view is the perfect opportunity to show off the curves of the spankee's bottom from a different angle and Ward screws this all up by not having her legs below the curve of her bottom. i love the surprised and puzzled look on her face  . i agree with your comments about the girls watching and waiting for their turn in the Dave Carney toon. sometimes the girl watching, knowing her turn is next, is more interesting than the actual spanking ..........those girls are pretty wide eyed :D i couldn't help but notice the placement of the man's hand as he's pulling down the spankee's panties..............kinda makes me wonder just how many different emotions she's feeling right about now ;) . in the Gene Bellos drawing i found myself wishing the view on the first drawing had been from behind  . good updates this week. thanks and a tip of the hat. phil

Hi WEB-ED CSR!!! Love The Christmas Drawing art 8-) I could think of plenty of young women who needs to be put on Santa naughty list starting with Linsay Lohan and The Kardashian women just thinking of seeing Kim across Santa`s knees kicking and howling as he soundly spanks her hugh bottom with a hairbrush is enough to give any spanko a present that would live forever in are minds  Love the perfectly round lace pantie buttocks of the woman in Bill Ward`s Good Man To Have Around The House drawing only problem I have with this drawing is she to far on the edge of his knees and also like she about to tip over head first on to the ground  like her wide eyes and large breasts :D another thing I like about this drawing is her shapely legs that are kicking due to the spanking  The spanker look like he enjoy spanking her for his pleasure than discipline  Great drawing!!! Great gag in Woman Bending over to tend to Garden drawing and I wonder did the boy wanted to smack her bottom with that stick  The woman look like one of Stanton ladies by the way she build and her face!!! Good drawing!!!! 8-) Like Dave Carney Three Girls Who Are To Recieve The Cane drawing cause of the two Girl looking on in fear of being next to be cane!!!!! like how they both holding on to each other also like the bent over position of the Maid I think the other two women are mother and daughter  I could be wrong.

Weekly Updates for 12/28/2012

Post by web-ed »

Obviously the big news this week is that we have lost all posts made after 12/10. I'll keep this post short so I can go back to trying to restore the attachments. This is the last update of 2012, and next week's update will go ahead as planned with the last examples I have from Dave Carney and Herc Ficklen. Look for another announcement in the New Year with a brief outline of my plans for 2013. I can tell you right now that even in the midst of disaster, I'm eager to begin a new series from Kevin Karstens and Bawdy Bard, and of course the Humorama Series will spank on.

Happy New Year, everyone! :D

For links to this week's updates please go to the Home Page by clicking on "Chicago Spanking Review" at the top of this or any other Forum page.
  • Humorama update: Bill Ward brings us a scene of F/F rivalry in the theatre with Spanked for Upstaging.
  • Humorama Series #120: Herc Ficklen did only one secretary spanking, as a boss turns his tardy secretary OTK then makes her type "I will not be late to the office" 200 times! A modern Human Resources department's nightmare is pure pleasure for us :) .
  • Dave Carney apparently loved caning, and we see an example of the classic caning situation in The Headmaster's Study.

Hi Web-ed:

I cannot tell you how sorry I am, to hear that your beautiful board has been hacked. In Spanish there is a term they use for people who do such things: Malvados! The translation is difficult, but roughly it means "people who do malicious things." And I have no doubt, the person behind the attack on CSR is muy malvado.

Unfortunately I have absolutely no technological expertise. There is nothing I could say or do that would help you in the situation you've found yourself in. But if you should happen to learn that some artwork I posted is now missing, let me know and I will replace it at once.

I will try to think happy thoughts for you, Nick, so you can experience a Happy New Year.

Cheers,
Dan

Thanks very much for the good wishes, Dan! I believe that I now have everything restored up through 12/10, which was the best I could do this time. The attachment process here is more complicated than I had realized, involving the picture files being renamed and encoded by the board, so even with my backup of the folder I really couldn't tell what was what. Fortunately, since your art was all linked (a much simpler process than attaching), it's all still intact. My own stuff tends to be linked as well, since I have the option of using CSR itself as my "image host", so it was really Phil and b00m whose work was affected and their posts from 9/17 to 12/10 (the critical period) have been manually updated now.

Anyway, we'll be in a much better position going forward should anything happen to the board again, since I can promise to have more recent backups handy than I did this time!

ok, let's start with this week's updates.in the Ward "upstaged" spanking, the spankee does indeed look very surprised..........i guess she thought she was going to get away with this  as you pointed out, an innocent look for sure. as far as the spanker goes, she looks really happy about all this and i think her motive of spanking just for being upstaged is suspect :D . thanks for all the interesting information about the Ficklen "tardy secretary" spanking. i liked your speculation that this one was probably printed an additional time around 1964. i have noticed as i've followed your comments about Humorama spankings that there does seem to be a pattern. i'm guessing that they probably used some guidelines concerning how long to wait between printings so folks would forget about the previous one. while i still have only a vague feel for all this, you seem to have made a thorough study of all this and i am confident that you are probably right on the money with this. you mentioned that this idea would be an HR nightmare these days. well, having spent much of my career in retail management, i can tell you that i've wished for this many times. it would be so simple. you just call in the uncooperative or chronically late cashier, give her a good spanking and send her back to work :D . my opinion is, "to hell with all those complex rules". this is much simpler .................and no doubt way more effective  . training employees is expensive and i have a hunch this program would save many who wind up getting fired ;). i am not a big fan of caning but i like the "headmaster" drawing anyway. i think the idea of the spankee not being cooperative sounds reasonable..........the perfect reason to turn her over his lap so he can control her :D . of course, that would mean he would have to abandon the cane and administer the spanking with his hand :D .

good updates again this week, especially in the midst of all the chaos! i am really impressed that you were able to get the forums up again so quickly, especially considering that the backups you were expecting from the web host were not there! like Dan, i have little technical knowledge about such things and if it had been left to me to get this done we would have all been "earning" my screen name  . i've read your reply to Dan 3-4 times now and i still don't understand why the time period from 9/17 to 12-10 was more of a problem than the rest. it appears to me from what i've seen so far that you did an excellent job of restoring the forum though :D . i'm very happy that you were able to get this done...........and so quickly. i really enjoy the forum here. i always check it at least daily and many times several times a day if i have the time so i missed it during the time it was down. i certainly hope the person who caused all this gets a virus a day in their computer from now on  . a BIG THANK YOU for all you do to provide this forum for us :D :D . phil

HI WEB -ED CSR !!!!!! Love seeing Bill Ward`s Glamor girls spanking and in this one Spanked For Upstaging drawing is good only wish it was otk!!!! The spankee bottom is kinda flat but she is pretty with shapely legs and large breasts :D I don`t Ward made a great choice in having her spanked on top of a desk maybe she should have been bent over it  Anyway this is a good drawing from Ward!!!! Never Heard of Herc Ficklen until now but his drawings are great and this drawing of Boss Spanks Secretary otk for being tardy is is top 8-) Really love the buttocks on the secretary round and perky also like her facial expression something like how dare he do this to me  the otk position is nice only wish Mr. Ficklen would have drawn some line and sparks coming from the spankee`s bottom  Like the tight panty she wearing at first glance I thought she was bare bottom  Great Great drawing!!! Dave Carney did a good job on this drawing of a school girl being cane by The Headmaster this reminds me of drawings I saw in Janus magazine back in the 80s! Like the way the Headmaster is forcing the struggling student to bend over the desk and how he only using the short part of the cane to cane with  This is way different than seeing the spankee submitt by bending over as order by who ever in charge 8-) really like this drawing!! There an off scene paddling of Timmy Turner`s parents on the cartoon Fairly Odd Parents but you do hear the paddle spanks the mother at the closing as she yell stop that!!!

First of all, I'm glad you got the forum back up and running! Thanks for all your hard work in fixing what appears to be an act of sabotage. (But why, I wonder would anyone tamper with something like this forum? The C.F.R. thing I can understand, but why us? What advantage could they possibly gain?)

Second, I had commented on last week's update just before the crash, and apparently that post is lost, so I'll repeat.

My two favorites from last week were the two Herc Ficklen cartoons. The late payment was one that I already had a copy of, but not such a high resolution as your latest addition. The flyswatter one was completely new to me. After reading your comments on the black skirt and the lame caption, I decided to try to "improve" it a bit.

I gave her a light-colored skirt, continuing the polkadots from her blouse, and substituted a caption with her chiding him for his dubious claim of seeing a fly, and challenging him to turn her over his knee.

This week, we get more Herc! One I've seen, but a better scan! Spankings for pretty women who are late for work seems like a good idea to me... but what about tardy male employees? I suppose they could just be fired.

Glad you liked all the information about this cartoon. Yes, I've made a study of it and have been compiling a Data Base of all the Humorama "spankers" including their publication dates, and among other things, this Data Base shows that the cartoons were typically reprinted after 6 to 8 years. Neat things, Data Bases - in fact, this one will be publicly revealed for everyone to use at the conclusion of the Humorama Series. I'm only waiting because the DB isn't complete yet, although it is already functional with the 173 cartoons it contains.

You're most welcome Phil, and I'm gratified that you check this board so often. About the critical period of 9/17 to 12/10, I didn't make that very clear in my reply to Dan, so I'll try to explain it now: This board and others like it have two parts, a Data Base made up of individual tables to hold the posts, the topics, the members' data, etc., and an ordinary directory (folder) containing the php code that reads/writes the DB and then returns HTML code to your browser to throw up the web pages you see. On 12/10 I did a DB backup to my own PC, thus preserving the topics, posts, etc. as they were on that date. BUT, the attachments were not backed up at that time because we don't generally put binary data such as picture files into data bases.

Therefore, I had to go back to 09/17, the date on which I last upgraded the board's php code. When I did that, I created a backup of its directory including a sub-directory that held the encoded attachments, and these I was able to quickly reload through ordinary FTP (File Transfer Protocol), the means I use to update the main site. That left us without any attachments that were added between 09/17 and 12/10, and these I added manually editing one post at a time. That's probably clear as mud - sorry  ! But now that I know exactly where the attachments are, I can back them up on my PC using FTP, and we'll be much better protected in the future. :)

Honestly, b00m, I don't have any positive proof that we were sabotaged, but I find it awfully suspicious that both the Data Base and the particular directory pertaining to it (but no others) both disappeared. They're not connected in any way on the host server; they're only linked by the code in the directory itself. The other directories which hold the main site, and the other Data Base which holds the Comic Book and Humorama Cartoon spanking tables (little DB's), were left completely unaffected. And there is a certain person, not known to you or anyone else here, who really hates this board. So I'm very suspicious. But as I remarked to Phil, I'm going to be much better equipped to handle a similar problem in the future, whether the result of hacking or simply "natural" causes (i.e. server errors).

Anyway, thanks for repeating your post which I never even had a chance to see the first time. I like your improved version of Herc's Secretary Spanking very much and will add it to the page. It must have taken a fair amount of work to re-do the secretary's dress that way, but her rear end is so much better-defined now I think it was worth it. Your caption suggests some interesting future possibilities between these two.

Herc Ficklen didn't produce anywhere near as many spanking cartoons as did the Big Six, but the ones he did were very good and have been very well-received here. You'll be glad to know, Butch, that I've got one more of Herc's spanking 'toons that you can see only four days from now - a pretty female fur trapper gets her hide tanned!

I don't know Fairly Odd Parents and it's too bad the mother got paddled off-panel, but if I ever run across it I may post it on this board.

Weekly Updates for 01/04/2013

Post by web-ed »

First, I'll mention again that our recovery process is complete. Phil and B00m helped me fill in a few details, and I remembered a "Missed Opportunities" post of mine that had been wiped out which I have reconstructed as best I can. There are still a few missing posts that could not be recovered, probably mostly responses in Phil's gallery and a few here in "Weekly Updates," but I think we've got all the art back.

Next, the monthly report for December:

Pages searched: 1918
Total: 398794
Comic Spankings: 0

While I found no new comic spankings, the Humorama Search also continued, and there I did find a previously unknown Secretary Spanking by George Morrice :) :!: This will be added to the Humorama Series, now set to conclude with #138 (we're at #121 now).

For links to this week's updates please go to the Home Page by clicking on "Chicago Spanking Review" at the top of this or any other Forum page. We're concluding two mini-series this week, Dave Carney's canings and Herc Ficklen's Humorama work.
  • The last of our Dave Carney canings depicts a student rubbing the region to which the cane was applied.
  • Humorama update: One of Bill Ward's well-reared girls spanks another. New scan!
  • Humorama Series #121: The series enters its 3rd year(!) with the last of our cartoons by Herc Ficklen - a female fur trapper getting her hide tanned!
Next week it will really feel like the New Year is getting underway with the beginning of a new series from Kevin Karstens and Bawdy Bard, new fiction from Queen Tutankhamun, and Kirk Stiles' last F/F spanking cartoon which is set in a wrestling ring! I hope you'll join us then :) .
