Yes, Solsunbeach, I think you're right about the stereotypes involving hair color. To some extent, I think they're still with us.

And of course, there's the stereotype of redheads having a fiery temper. A great example of the fiery-tempered redhead was Katherine Gilhooley McLintock. I think that watching old Maureen O'Hara movies in my youth may have inspired my affinity for redheads. (especially in spanking situations!)
