We don't know too much about this one. Santo looks Argentinian, but we
can't say for sure.
Not to be confused with The Saint, Simon Templar, who also administered a
spanking in his comic book The Saint #5 (when we can find our copy we'll post it). Santo
seems to be dressed more like a wrestler than a super-hero. The girl he's got over his knee doesn't seem
too unhappy about getting spanked by a guy wearing make-up and no shirt. Judging from her clothes
and hairstyle, this comic was published in the 50's or early 60's.
[3/03/2008 update - Lucas informs us that Santo was a real-life wrestler, Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, from
Mexico, not Argentina. While we have our own trusted sources of comic-book information, we don't generally just run
a general internet search because there's a lot of misinformation out on the web. We're not lazy, just careful, which is how we
missed this. At least we were right about Santo looking like a wrestler. Apparently, he was one of Mexico's most beloved
sports heroes and their most popular pro wrestler by far. Anyway, we're always grateful when an interested reader takes the time to
point these things out to us - thanks, Lucas! - Web-Ed]
