When we consider the various artists who have occupied Doctor Cylon's time and attention probably the first to come to mind is Julius Zimmerman, and yet the completely different work of Paula Meadows (Lynn Paula Russell) has also captivated the good Doctor. To illustrate this point, we begin a series of her drawings as colorized or otherwise altered by him with this rather unusual scene.

It is the composition of this piece that is so unusual, and we do not know if it was early or late in the time Paula was drawing these scenes. Ordinarily there is a strong personal dynamic in her work: there is definitely something personal between spanker and spankee, but here the spanker is only a hand on a doorknob. Also, Paula rarely does "before" or "after" scenes but usually shows the spanking in progress, often the climactic moment when cane lands on bare buttocks, precisely because of that personal dynamic. Finally, she often has the spanking witnessed by others, an enhancement that emphasizes the humiliation that is at the heart of adult spanking and a frequent element of female submissive fantasies as we have discussed elsewhere. (As an extreme of example of this, consider her drawing of a woman bending over and holding her ankles for a bare-bottomed caning - while on stage facing away from a live audience! Other female spanking artists who emphasize public humiliation are Eve and SpAnka).

None of those elements are present here. Our spankee is certainly in a highly charged emotional state, but is it before or after her spanking? She could be dreading the spanking to come as her spanker enters the bedroom or still releasing a lot of pent-up emotion after the spanking and the spanker is returning to check on her. Doctor Cylon gives some weight to the latter view with his colorization that includes two distinctly red areas. We'd like to think the spankee wanted and needed to have her emotions released this way.
