Here we have an example of the Type-1 secretary spanking - spanked for screwing up. The setting is the office of a father-son partnership. The caption is oddly placed and hard to read, but one secretary is telling another the spanking of a third is "nothing" - she should see what Junior does if you mess up dictation. We can only imagine what this means - perhaps "Junior" bends her over the desk and applies a wooden paddle to her bare bottom! Yeah, we know - change the record already - but that's how our mind works. The spankee's expression indicates that while she's not overjoyed, she accepts getting spanked as an occasional part of the job.

We originally thought this was the work of a "W Engel", but a guest user on the Forum pointed out that it appeared to have been drawn by Bill Wenzel. After careful comparison, we decided our anonymous friend was right - it is Wenzel. We had already posted one of his cartoons here, and there are two other "spankers" of his that we will be posting in the future.

09/17/2010 update: Oxken liked this cartoon so much he decided to do a colored version, which he was kind enough to send us. As he put it,

"I loved the expression on the girl's face and the general positioning. I have removed everything except the main action and coloured the result. This means that the joke has gone (though it was a bit weak, I thought) and so has Wenzel's signature... I hope that it is of some interest."

01/27/2012 update: hugob00m also did an enhanced version of this cartoon which he posted on the CSR Forum. Here's what he had to say:

"There's a lot to like about this one. First of all there's an attractive woman being spanked on the seat of her panties... and there are the two ladies in the doorway. One is perhaps a new girl to the office, stunned at the sight of one of her colleagues in such a predicament. The other seems pretty nonchalant about the whole thing, as if, maybe that kind of thing happens all the time around there... and the position of her hands suggests (at least to my fevered brain) that she just might have been a recent recipient of a spanking herself! Could be that's how she knows about Junior!"

We'll add that we now know this must have been a very early effort of Wenzel's, that is, early in his "spanking career", probably c. 1955, although we still don't have either the initial publication date or that of any subsequent reprint.
