We take a lot of pride here in doing our homework; that is, researching the comics that have spankings in them. We've held up presenting items for years while we tried to run them down - where they came from, who were the artist and writer, etc. While we've made some goofs along the way, we think the results of our approach for the most part speak for themselves. That's why we were so irritated at having so little information about the following spanking, which we originally presented in Comics Gallery 1. We didn't know why but it was maddeningly familiar.
Our notes show that we originally found this at
The Spank Statement
and later stumbled on the altered version by our old pal
Dave Wolfe. Probably we
assumed we would be posting them shortly and easily be able to find the original sources
at that time, but we were wrong on both counts, and searching both sites recently yielded
nothing.
Fortunately, after the first two versions
below were posted, Dave and
CSR Resident Artist Hugob00m came to the rescue with another version revealing the artist's name,
and some other critical information we'll relate below.

Now for the rest of the story: this drawing, which had a comic strip-like appearance,
was actually a newspaper illustation (what newspaper we still don't know) of a real life
spanking incident we remembered reading about very well. It occurred in 1971 when an
enterprising spanko paid a group of Northwestern University coeds a whopping $15 apiece
to get spanked and record how they felt about it, ostensibly as part of a "research
project" (ho-ho!)
The story is below. Actually, he was something of a cheapskate and wrote the girls some
rubber checks, which got the State's Attorney's Office involved. If he hadn't done that,
the story would probably never have been uncovered as the girls would have kept silent.
(The spanker eventually paid each girl $30, and everybody was happy).
