Both kinds of interest, I'd say! If you're talking about the kind of interest that the banks add to a loan... even at a fairly low rate of 5% annually, added to the spankings she should've gotten back in her college days... That would take a while! And then, there's the other kind of interest... Officer Yank seems to be VERY interested in Karen's skinny little butt!

I've seen a few episodes of Fawlty Towers, but it never seemed to catch on in the U.S. as much as Monty Python's Flying Circus. Of course, John Cleese is funny no matter what show he's on.

There weren't too many episodes, B00m - the BBC approved 12 initially or two groups of 6 (I forget which), but either way it adds up to only a dozen. Most of them were brilliant, however - John Cleese's best work by far. And he was terrific as Basil Fawlty, the irascible hotel owner who complains about everything from the staff to the quality of the clientele. No corporal punishment in the series except for one scene in which Fawlty flogs his car with a tree branch for breaking down on him (after he tried to fix it himself instead of taking it to a garage, of course). Funny, but not very erotic.

His wife Connie Booth (who played Polly) would have made a nice spankee, and there was a guest player (I don't remember her clearly) who gets on her hands and knees in one scene, displaying a fine target for six of the best with a cane in the best British tradition . But if we can get our minds off of spanking for one second, there are a couple of important lessons in Fawlty Towers for any aspiring humorist: (1) Irascible characters like Fawlty are generally surprisingly funny (see e.g. Donald Duck, whose popularity came as a surprise to Walt Disney); and (2) in a dramatic form, it's best to have the various plot elements come together in a humorous climax.
