We actually got some rain on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but not enough for the bushfires. It has been tinder dry for months.

That's about what we might get in late June/early July where I live. in Kansas, a lot of farmers start small grassfires on their land in order to prevent bigger fires later in the season.

Santa usually sits in an air conditioned mall, the suit is traditional but probably lightweight.

That makes sense. But then, when he makes his Christmas Eve run, he might have to change into shorts and a t-shirt (red, of course!)

Actually, she isn't leaving Sydney quite yet... I haven't figured out yet whether she's going to go straight home, or go to another vacation destination.

There is more to Australia than Sydney, which is currently badly affected by smoke from bushfires on the South Coast of New South Wales.

Yeah, you're right. Maybe she needs to visit another part of the country. She hasn't even seen a koala or a kangaroo yet!

Koalas have been badly affected by the current bushfires on the East Coast. At least in my part of Sydney it is mild today. Yesterday it got to 47 degrees Celsius, which is about 115 degrees Fahrenheit and our hottest day on records.

Meanwhile a former Prime Minister who lost his blue ribbon seat in last year's elections is in Israel where people are laughing at his stupid denial of global warming. Even the people of the Old Testament are not wearing that.
