I have been retired for years. We have the younger daughter's two children at our house doing home school but now they are going to school once a week, not the same school because the girl is in year 7 while the boy is autistic and in special needs classes at public school. They usually have dinner at our place. Their mother is working from home 4 days a week.

I would almost volunteer to take on that role... except that I'm not really enough younger. And I'm not good with coding. And there are other demands on my time. (During this "lock-down", my job is considered "essential", and so, I'm still working full-time hours.)

I hope you can find someone skilled and dedicated to help you run your site, and maybe eventually to take over. I would miss it if it went away.

In the meantime, I intend to contribute what I can when I can.
Thank you very much, B00m, for all your efforts and your continuing good wishes.

Thanks, Butch. I'm sick, but it's with grief and continuing worry, not anything physical. It would certainly be ironic if that lowered my resistance enough to succumb to something else, but on the other hand I believe there's a good chance I've already had the Wuhan Virus and recovered, so I may now possess an immunity.

Re: CSR, Age, and a Successor

willjohn wrote:I get the impression we are not exactly a young group. I am over 70, I don't know about the rest of you.
Dan is senior among us, I'm sure. You may be next, Willjohn, with the rest of us not that far behind you. I've kept my exact age a secret to avoid giving another public clue as to my "secret identity" but I was in my mid-forties when I started CSR back in 2004, which means...I'm no kid any more.

It has long been a concern of mine, although I'm not thinking about it these days, that so many of us here are over 60 now. There truly does seem to be a "generation gap" as it used to be called, even though some young adults (say 20-40) today are into spanking and some of them must have grown up with comic books (probably bad ones when we consider that even someone 40 today would have been too young to read Watchmen in 1986, much less remember the Silver Age of comics). So perhaps CSR, with its emphasis on comics, simply doesn't reach them (not to mention Humorama cartoons published more than 20 years before they were born). I suppose we must have some young readers, but if so, they probably spend so much time on Facebook and Twitter, both of which I hate with a passion, that they don't even think about commenting here. Come to think of it, they probably view CSR on their smartphones, and I don't even own one to test how CSR looks on one!

Change is inevitable but it's not always for the good, and these current young adults have to be the generation worst-equipped to deal with adult responsibilities that we have produced since at least 1900. All of that means it's going to be difficult for me to find a successor, but when I can finally pull myself together I really should start searching for one.

Weekly Updates for 05/15/2020

Post by web-ed »

We continue our series of contributions from Alan with Lust for Spanking.

We're still on a week-to-week basis here, so I can't promise anything for next week.

Hi, Web-ed. I'm glad you were able to post something this week.

Looking at the picture, I can't quite tell if he's pulling her panties down or up (Apparently, some spankers like giving wedgies.) Either way, the lower part of her buttcheeks will be exposed to the hairbrush.

I think you're right. He said in one of his posts that Kiss Me, Kate came to the theaters when he was 10.
web-ed wrote:You may be next, Willjohn,
Probably. He just mentioned being over 70 in a recent post.

I'm not 70 yet, but getting close.

Yeah. Your fan base is getting old.

Are there "young-uns" out there looking at this site, but never commenting? Maybe. But how would anyone know?

I'm hoping you can keep it going for a while longer... but, as you say, change is inevitable, but it's not always for the good.

For now, I plan on posting some more of my O.T. Katie strips. But less and less people comment on them as time goes on. Thanks, WillJohn, for being the one who almost always has something to say about my posts.

I am like the rest of the oldies here. I am in my late 60's,but while I have been able to see some of the posts i have not been able to respond as i did have computer issues as well. I think Richard is the youngest as he is only in his fifties. Sorry that you have such problems web-ed as I see the Phil's are having health issues and I am sorry to hear that as well. I am glad CSR has gone for almost 20 years. I would like all of you to know how much I have enjoyed everyone's comments ,knowledge and what you have shared with us. I remember when CSR began and what finds have been contributed over the years. So I do hope that you find someone to help you web-ed although you have indeed been talking about passing the torch so to speak for awhile ,but there have been no takers as of yet and I don't know if anyone was as dedicated as you web-ed and the phils,b00m,tanner,willjohn,butch,Dan and all the others that have added something over the years. Thanks again to all of you. I know that it will go on,but my ability to comment is limited and I comment when I can. Have a great day everyone and hopefully everyone stays safe and sound.

I too share the concern about the future of sites such as ours. I am appalled when I think of all the spanking sites I used to regularly visit 10-12 years ago that have now disappeared or inactive for all intents and purposes. WorldSpankingForum,British Spanking, SpankSpot, SpankingClassics,Allthingsspanking, Myspankingforum, SpankDen, Spanking Community, ShutupnSpank- and surely more. Even the once very active SIN site has become a shadow of itself with a new facebook-like format. Not much left that are left with much activity except here, the British Bottomlines site(associated with the Spanking Library) and ipunishment which too has that facebook like format and little activity on its forum.
Even the blogs seem less active, and of course there are those with stuff that does not appeal to me, the heavy bdsm ones. One called SpankingBlog is more likely to have a lot of breasts and genitals whippings or brutal floggings instead of nice otk scenes.
I love the message board or discussion forum format but they seem to be no longer in vogue, for anything, not just spanking.
I know some are big fans of Fetlife but I declined to join when they started requiring a telephone number for registration.
I do not give out information like that to anyone online unless I know them personally or am shopping with a reputable company. I thought that was the beauty of the Internet- have a username and password that you could discuss private matters with like-minded souls that you might not care to share with the general world.

Thanks for the concern. I am doing very well physically and about as well as can be expected otherwise while observing the stay-at-home orders here in Illinois. I had corrective surgery that took care of my prostate concerns back in November of 2018. It was a tough go before that but since then I have progressed nicely to a complete recovery. I'm in a decent situation economically and live close to family. I guess for being in the middle of a pandemic I have nothing to squawk about. I am however in my late '60s so I do try to be careful about social distancing and doing what I can to control any of those dreaded "underlying causes", like watching my weight and blood pressure. Although I've slowed down from my heyday of gathering spanking in the newspapers I haven't entirely given up the search for published treasures.

Hope someone can find out more on the movie "Bunker Bean." Never heard of it . " The hardest spanking of her life"- sounds exciting.

You can watch the movie in its entirety on You Tube for free. Just search for Bunker Bean movie, I could put a direct link here but I don't trust the system to not send a person directly into my own account - paranoid maybe. The spanking scene starts around the 26 minute mark more or less. While you're doing that I'll be trying to figure out why as of 1952 there was a law on the books preventing donkeys from sleeping in bathtubs in Brooklyn, NY.

Something to do with a near sighted donkey attacking a housemaid.

I'm glad to know you're doing well and have recovered from your surgery.

It's good to see you posting again too.

"Slightly fanciful" is a good description. I haven't watched all of Bunker Bean, but I've watched a clip of the spanking. It was fun to see, but... "the hardest spanking of her life"? I doubt that.

And the law about written permission to strap one's wife... I wonder how many women in that jurisdiction actually signed up for it?

I think you're the only one who noticed it was the same drawing as on the cover of "The Perverted Aryan" - in my present condition, I missed it myself and was probably lucky I saw it matched that earlier drawing. I really should update the page again with this information but it's hard to do anything right now.

As to the artist getting two checks, I doubt it - since this kind of artwork was always on a "work made for hire" basis, the artist had no copyright under American law and the publisher (possibly using different imprints) probably simply used the same art twice to save money.

I'm not up to researching it (thanks to Willjohn for doing so) but I would guess that the spanker, Owen Davis Jr. is the son of the American playwright. Perhaps Owen Sr. wrote a play or did the movie screen play? He was certainly prolific although not a favorite of mine.
