Because I have been as yet unable this year to post Doctor Cylon updates at the rate of one every week as I would like to, it may seem like it's taking a long time to get through five red bottoms for the deserving Lara Croft, and it is. On the other hand, I don't think anyone can object to the good Doctor's choice of subject matter in the person of the arrogant, needs-to-get-taken-down-a-peg Lara, so who cares if it does take two months? Anyway, we've got another nice model this week, bare bottom turned red by Doc who never seems to tire of this kind of work .

A few months ago I came across some new scans of Boots and Her Buddies #7, the first of the legendary Seven Spankings in comic books whose existence I discovered in 1979. Of course I was too busy to think about them at the time, and after posting Phil Sweetspot's scans from the original strips only four years ago I didn't think we had much else to display or explain. But they are nice scans, so I decided to post the two complete pages that between them contain the three spanking panels, and this really does complete what needs to be posted about this very fine spanking.

Some food for thought: when I discovered this 1949 Boots spanking in a 1979 comics back issue catalog, thirty years seemed like a very long time and the Golden Age of comics (1936-56) like ancient history. I didn't really dwell on that because I was so eager to finally see these spankings (I couldn't get the book at that time so I didn't actually see the spankings until many years later when the artist The Spirit (I believe) posted them). But here we are forty-two years later(!) finally closing the book, as it were, on this historical spanking scene, and I can only say I find this simple fact of elapsed time to be deeply shocking. Forty-two years - how age changes one's perspective! Let's hope it doesn't take another 42 years to completely nail down some of the other comic-book spankings I know about because none of us CSR regulars are going to live that long.

On to the Links Page: I hadn't updated this for four years, because during this period I've been pressed harder and harder until annual updating of the Links and Events pages became impossible. But as I get close to cleaning out the mailbox I'm disposing of some items that have been lying around for some time, including one that informed me some of the links were now defunct and another requesting a new link. Over the last two weeks I managed to go through the entire page, removing all the defunct links (it really hurt to take out the one for Chicago Crimson Moon) and adding one to Hillside Texas Wrestling.

What's the connection to spanking, you ask? Why, the female wrestlers (Poser art) keep getting spanked!

I also junked the "radio button" design of the Links Page because so many of the links have banners I just used them to anchor the hyperlinks. (I left alone the black button links to the few pro dommes at the bottom of the page since I don't have banners for them and because I don't have the time to waste on them). The "radio button" design was not all that new even back in 2004 when I designed CSR, dating probably from the 90's (I had encountered it on Kubota Taira's old spanking art site, also now long defunct, and sort of modeled CSR on it since I had no formal training in web design).

In the years since I've added text links to the top of each new page which is more in keeping with the modern style (some of the old pages still lack them), but of the course the radio buttons are here to stay because I can't possibly renovate over 1500 pages to eliminate them. I might consider remodeling the Home Page a bit, but I really don't have too much time to think about it. And I still think having links to the relevant gallery pages and the Home Page from the bottom of the detail pages makes sense - who wants to waste their time scrolling back to the top of a page just because that's where the return links are? Although you can of course always use your "back" button (shortcut: alt + Left Arrow key).

The Humorama Series continues with George Morrice's Maid Spanks Miss #2 .

This is the first of three by George Morrice that somehow went undiscovered until I found them in 2015. I only held them back this long because of the Comic Strip Series and because I had hoped to complete my search through Humorama's classic period of 1955-60, but it's just taking too long. (There are only three volumes left at this point from that era I haven't seen). So while our knowledge of Humorama is not quite complete I can say there are only three spanking cartoons known to exist that I don't have good scans of, and it's time to start getting all my Humorama material (spanking and non-spanking) out there for everyone to see.

I did make one discovery recently that may cause some confusion. Bill Ward's "Wasted Scotch Spanking" that I had posted as Humorama #222 back in October had in fact been seen before on the main site, but only on a cover of Joker and in color so I didn't recognize it at the time. (B00m had posted it on the forum also but I recognized it there immediately). That means there is one less Humorama spanking cartoon than I thought and I'll have to change the data base and the tote board to reflect this which will be done shortly.

What that means in terms of the site's organization is that this month's update, "Morrice Maid Spanks Miss #2" takes over as the new Humorama #222. "Wasted Scotch Spanking" goes back to #197. #223 and #224 remain as before, and our next update at the end of March will be #225.

I took a look at Hillside Texas Wrestling, and I liked it.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, I'd suggest you try it out. The stories are presented as televised wrestling matches, with wrestlers, opposing ringside commentators, pretty valets who do naughty things, and a female announcer.

Every story has a spanking... and one of them also concludes with a "derriere in danger" from something other than a spanking.

Thanks for doing the review, B00m! I'd glanced around it myself, but that was of course all I had time for.

I really don't care for the hornets, but there's been an awful lot of "Derriere in Danger" scenes in comics and elsewhere and they're o.k. fun although no substitute for spankings. I've got quite a few posted on this board as well as "Behind in Jeopardy" and I've got more in the files waiting for me to get caught up so I can get around to posting them.

Yes, Morrice sometimes makes up for what would otherwise be a rather lame spanking cartoon by giving the spankee an expression conveying her anxiety about what is to come.

We have two more Morrice cartoons to get through, and then I'm going to wind up the series (for this year) with two by Bill Wenzel that date not from Humorama's classic era of 1955-60, but 1973 - which means the spankee is bare-bottomed in both! I also have one more spanking cartoon by Morrice that appears not to be from Humorama but from some other publication in the 70s, and of course we'll see it eventually but not as part of the Humorama Series.

Yeah, it's more from American Dad after I thought I'd finally run through all I had on it in my files. There's a couple more in there now that I've checked, and we may see one of them later, but as far as the Bawdy Bard Series is concerned these two are the last and then we're back to the comics!

Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed that I expanded the current Lara Croft series in Doc Cylon's Gallery from five to six. The explanation is simple: I noticed another drawing of Lara in the Good Doctor's master folder and decided there was no reason to hold it back, if there ever was. I'm not sure where we'll go after #6, but by then it will be close to Super-Spanking Summer and good ol' Doc has sent me plenty of red-bottomed superheroines for that annual event.

I'm doing o.k. on the site: the coding for the next few updates is complete and I'm slowly winning the battle with my email in-box. Of course, every time it looks like things are finally under control, some new disaster strikes, but let's keep our fingers crossed. See you next week!

Only a week ago I wrote this:

Prophetic words, for since then I've been battling what I now believe is a failing hard drive without knowing why my computer kept crashing. Needless to say, I've been unable to work on the site but because this week's updates were already coded, all I had to do was keep the laptop from crashing long enough to FTP the files to the site, which is now done. Next week's update could be delayed of course as I don't expect to get any new parts before next Wednesday, but I'll do what I can.

Anyway, I decided to post two related cartoons by Bawdy Bard and Kevin Karstens this week. They're very good even though I hate the American Dad series. Brother/Sister spankings might seem weird to some, and to be sure you've got to be careful to keep them tasteful with no hint of incestuous relations, but as long as the spanking seems to be in good fun I think they're within the bounds of decency and good taste. Did I cross a line with this one? Well, Steve and Hayley are both sans clothing, so maybe I did, but it was nicely done and so neatly tied in with another Stan/Francine spanking (also posted this week) I decided to go with it. Don't hesitate to sound off if you think CSR should be more careful with brother/sister or son/mother spankings; as a matter of fact there is one of the latter I've decided to hold back on but such material does pop up from time to time and I need to exercise appropriate discretion with regard to posting it.

I tend to be a bit leery about spankings between family members. There's the appearance of incest in some peoples' eyes, and sometimes the reality of it. I knew a father a few years back that was always threatening to spank his oldest daughter for all kinds of minor infractions, and it always seemed that he had a bit of a leer in his voice and on his face when he talked about exposing her backside. It turned out later that he had also been using her sexually.

For my part, I'd suggest laying off of the family member stuff.

That's all I could do for this week, and thank goodness for Doctor Cylon (and Resident Artist HugoB00m) , who can always be counted upon to have something for us. I haven't seen B00m's latest offering yet, but from my FTP panel I noticed some new files had been uploaded recently and I assume it was B00m adding something to A Ninth O. T. Katie Thread, so be sure to check it out and I promise to join you as soon as I can!

From Doctor Cylon we have another well-deserved red bottom for Lara Croft, and we'll see the last of this mini-series either next week or the week after.

What else is happening: my computer hard drive was rapidly failing last week, and in the worst way (causing many file corruptions). Cloning your hard drive isn't easy even if you know what you're doing because it's not enough to just load the operating system in the root directory. Also, my operating system (Windows 10) was itself corrupted, which means that even after I successfully cloned the drive I still had to fix it. I've pretty much got everything repaired now but in the mean time I managed to come down with something. Don't know if it's Covid or not, but whatever virus it is, it's dying off quickly. Still, all these obstacles have of course slowed me down, so I don't know for sure what we're going to have next week.

At the very least, I hope to have another installment of The Humorama Series; if I can't manage the last one of Lara Croft as well we'll have it in two weeks. Also, D. M. Sherwood has kindly provided me with a revised version of "McMillans Don't Bluff" and I hope to present it as well along with an explanation. As a matter of fact, he sent an interesting DVD as well, and if I can remember to I might say a little more about it next week - see you then!
