Hi, Butch.

Sorry to hear you got sick. I'm sure glad you're recovering.

It's nice to see a red-bottomed Lara anytime!    I watched both of the movies that Angelina Jolie was in. My problem was that she was too perfect, too competent, and because of that, she didn't really face any serious challenges.

I'm not familiar with those characters, but it's still a nice Karsten/Bard spanking picture.

Sorry to hear you were in the ICU, Butch. I myself made it through the holidays in reasonably good health but I was nursing two sick patients of my own, a situation that still continues. Please do everything you can to get well as CSR really needs every one of us from the "old guard".

Additional red bottoms for Lara are scheduled for future weeks!

I have been staying home as much as possible and wearing a mask if I go out for shopping etc. Australia has got on better than most countries (mainly because people are taking notice of the medical people and ignoring the dopes). I shudder to think what could have happened.

Glad to hear you're staying well, Willjohn. Here in America, the virus has been overhyped and both the infection rate and death count wildly overstated (we had a murder victim marked down as a Wuhan Virus death because he tested positive post-mortem!), but certainly many thousands have died, especially old people in nursing homes when three state governors ordered that nursing homes take in people who had the virus. Our state governments have proved to be far more dangerous than the virus, and countless millions of people have been thrown out of work by their arbitrary edicts, but that's another matter. As I understand it, the Australian Commonwealth government is making the vaccine available to Australian citizens but seems to have refrained from locking up healthy people and destroying their livelihoods.

Speaking of the Commonwealth Government, I understand it's taking on Google, and good for it! Google and Twitter are absolute menaces at this point that need to be cut down to size.

We get back to The Humorama Series after a couple of months, and I hope to continue doing one new cartoon the last week of each month to give everyone something to really look forward to. This is the last Humorama spanking cartoon by Bill Ward I discovered; it is not the last chronologically. And that raises an interesting question: what was the last Ward Humorama spanking cartoon? (Not including reprints).

Right now, the last one appears to be the "Wasted Scotch Spanking" Hugob00m posted on the forum back in 2017 and which I put on the main site last October. It dates from November 1962, and I just noticed it was later reprinted with a much different caption - rats! Now I'm going to have to renumber the last two entries in the series and alter #197. I had gone over the other Ward cartoons, but this one had appeared only on the cover of the August 1970 Joker where it had a different appearance. Anyway, it's the last one as far as I know, but there could still be another and of course there are others Ward did for other BDSM publications well into the 1980s.

We see also two new versions of Bill Wenzel's "A True Redskin" this week, one that Bawdy Bard found on some now-defunct website with no caption and one re-captioned and colored by Doctor Cylon. Three Humorama printings of this cartoon have now been identified while one and possibly two others remain unknown, having appeared probably around 1967 and 1973.

Next Week: Part 2 of our mini-series of red bottoms given to Lara Croft Tomb Raider by Doctor Cylon. Bonus attraction: more fiction from D. M. Sherwood with "McMillans Don't Bluff" :) .

I wonder if Ward got the fireman's lift spanking idea from the 1954 Spike Jones movie "Fireman Save my Child" where the fire victims seemed in more danger from the firemen than the fires.

Could be, Willjohn. By an interesting coincidence, I was looking last night at some rare footage from Jones' old television show that featured Art Tatum, who died in 1956 leaving very little video material behind. Jones is probably best remembered for his band "Spike Jones and His City Slickers" but he had a more serious musical side (hence the presence of Tatum, the greatest living jazz pianist, on his show) and he appeared in quite a few movies, "Fireman Save my Child" being the only one in which he was promoted to the lead role after Abbott & Costello bowed out.

Yes, and Buddy Hackett replaced Lou Costello.

Costello was a notoriously bad tempered man.

It's not clear from the drawing, Butch, exactly how many times that fireman applied the flat of his ax to the spankee's bottom, but the effect lines suggest she felt at least some sting - yay!

As to the altered "True Redskin" cartoon, it was a Party Unknown, to use legal parlance, and not Bawdy Bard who bared the spankee's bottom and left it flat. He also cut off the caption, and so BB supplied a new one.

Altering a drawing to bare the bottom is certainly a worthy undertaking, and I've posted a number of such efforts by Funbun, Pablo, Doctor Cylon, and maybe others who have more skill than our "Party Unknown". In fact, I found a few more by Funbun recently and will post them eventually. And of course we'll be seeing lots more by Doctor Cylon, too.

The only reason I can see for using the OTS position rather than the OTK position is that it's good for taking someone somewhere (In this case, out of a burning building).
web-ed wrote: Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:18 pmAnd the flat side of an axe makes an even more awkward spanking paddle than that of a sword.
That's worse than the cop using his night-stick, and for the same reason. It would make the spankee's bottom ache rather than sting.
web-ed wrote: Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:18 pmIt's hard to come up with Indian (or First American, if you prefer) spanking gags - just try it sometime - so we can't blame Bill Wenzel for not coming up with something better than this one, which plays on the double-meaning of "redskin". This term would not have been considered offensive back in the 1950's, although you wouldn't likely see it used today.
Yeah. Of all the words the Native Americans don't like to hear, "Redskin" is at the top of the list. Back in the day... I saw a comic that had some kids doing an initiation. They asked the pledges whether they wanted to be redskins or palefaces. If they answered "paleface". they got a bucket over their heads. If they answered "redskin", they got the paddle.

I am very wary of any move by the right wing mob we have in charge at the moment. I still remember the same Coalition introducing conscription based on birth dates and involving boys too young to vote in the 1960s to use to butter up Lyndon Johnson in his futile adventure in Vietnam.

Thanks to D.M. Sherwood for sharing his latest story with us. His previous work has been very well received by CSR readers. I like doing fiction posts, but the manual paragraphing takes time.

Neither Doctor Cylon nor Lara Croft needs any introduction at this point. Lara needs to get spanked - and how! - and Doctor Cylon is just the guy to take the vanilla photos/art featuring her and liven them up a bit with some well-placed color. :)

Well, we've had the new version of the Forum in place for about a month now and everything seems to be working. I noticed some of the icons over the text boxes you write your post in have changed their appearance but they function the same way. I retested the table functions "table," "td," and "tr" but although they generate pairs of BBC tags, they don't seem to work. I don't think it matters because you'd have to be familiar with tables in HTML and have a need to structure a rather complicated layout for your post. (Tables are very important structures on a typical web page and keep things neatly lined up. Look at the source code of any page on the CSR main site and you'll see plenty of examples).

I just learned today that phpBB has now come out with an even newer version of the board  . I'm not exactly looking forward to doing another upgrade, but it will probably go smoothly. Among other things, it looks like they fixed the SQL problem with empty profile data that caused me so much trouble last time, and which I dealt with by getting rid of some of the social media junk in our profiles. I haven't set a date yet for the latest update but I'll get around to it as soon as I can.

You may have noticed that Hugob00m's name now appears in green in his posts. This reflects his new position as Global Moderator. I thought we should have someone able to moderate all the forums in case I'm not around. (Each of our Resident Artists has always had Moderator authority over his own gallery.) Moderators can edit, move, or delete posts. What we really need is another Administrator just in case something happens to me, but that's a lot to ask of anyone. I'm still planning to advertise for some help around here, so we'll see.

Next Week: The Bawdy Bard Series returns with a spanking featuring characters from the comic strip 9 Chickweed Lane :) .

I'm not familiar with this version of Lara Croft. I never played the video game that first introduced the character. I did watch the two Tomb Raider movies that featured Angelina Jolie in the role. The young lady in the picture sure has a nicely-rounded bottom that would seem to invite that type of attention. Yum!

More fine work, thank you so much for all that you do.
Always excited to see Doc Cylon's work. He did a topnotch job with Lara Croft, depicting amuch-deserved red bottom.
But how I'd love to see him get hold of Xena(who actually had several barebottom scenes) on the show. Show her with a red bottom standing up in the stirrups on her horse because she was too sore to sit on the saddle!

You're very welcome, Tanner!

Your mention of Xena inspired me to do a search of my "New Material" master folder (now containing over 10,000 files!). Nothing came up under "Xena," but much of Doctor Cylon's stuff has generated file names that are not descriptive, and it's possible there's something with Xena my search didn't turn up. The good Doctor sent me another 100 items this month, which means I'd have to post 25 per week to keep up with him!

I really don't know how I'm going to live long enough to post all the spanking material I have, but I'd certainly like to feature one item from Doctor Cylon each week. Perhaps that will be possible again one day.

And perhaps I should have a separate "Xena" sub-folder. If I find any Xena material among my possessions, I'll create one.

We continue our series featuring the many contributions of Bawdy Bard with 9 Chickweed Lane.

I hadn't seen this comic strip before, but it's a nice master/slave spanking scene with the spankee very attractively drawn by Kevin Karstens.

Now for a brief apology to D.M. Sherwood, whose story "McMillans Don't Bluff" appeared last week in the Fiction Section (and be sure to check it out if you haven't already). A writer myself, I normally do not make any substantial changes to the fiction submissions I receive, merely copy-editing them (correcting typos, etc.) and sometimes changing the paragraphing a little since I have to do this manually anyway. However, I cut out a section of "McMillans" due to my perhaps exaggerated fear of potential legal liability, and I neglected to notify David because I made the decision rather close to update time and I was under tremendous time pressure as always. It would have been better to have given him a chance to do a re-write, and it's possible he may yet do so. There wasn't anything "wrong" with what he wrote; in fact, it was kind of funny and I hated to cut that bit out. Writers don't get nearly enough respect in our world, and I certainly didn't intend to contribute to that problem.

Next Week: It's the third of five red bottoms for Lara Croft Tomb Raider courtesy of Doctor Cylon :) !

I'm not familiar with the strip either, but the Karsten/Bard interpretation of it is fun.

The phrase, "Topping from the bottom" comes to mind when seeing this drawing. The woman seems to be the one in charge in their relationship, but there she is, turned over his knee, with her wrists manacled, getting her backside nicely reddened!

I did a little bit of checking, and apparently Amos and Edda were childhood friends, turned lovers, and eventually became a married couple. I don't think I'm going to become an avid reader of 9 Chickweed Lane, but if Edda were to get spanked in the actual strip, I might reconsider. :D :D :D :D
