A Merry Christmas to all CSR readers! I know this is a busy time, but I think our updates this week are worthwhile and if you haven't time to check them out right now they'll still be here in the weeks to come.

Doctor Cylon continues his series on Jessica Rabbit with Jessica curling her legs (and a red bottom!).

It looks like she's having ti lie on her belly after the spanking she got. Or maybe she's anticipating another round over someone's knee, by the look on her face! Alluring position, and nice coloring.

We turn to our old buddy Dave Wolfe for a variation on the sensational spanking of Wonder Woman in Sensation Comics #31!

I agree with Butch here: It was fun to see an old-time comic panel with Wonder Woman in an O.T.K. position... but it would've been better if the "K" was a man's! Why didn't any of those old-time cartoonists do that?

To help us celebrate the holiday season, Resident Artist Hugob00m presents A Kaylyn Christmas in which Kaylyn, Lila, and former spy Delores receive a visit from Santa.

B00m promises another update very soon, probably on Christmas Eve.

I didn't quite make it on Christmas Eve... but today I have the results of Santa's visit to Kansas last night. Katie, Marie, Karen, and Clorene all got spanked by Santa! I hope Katie's fans will enjoy this Christmas treat.

So B00m finally gets the link he deserves! What does everyone think - should I use two posts to list the weekly updates so that my link limit is four instead of two, like I've done this week? Or do you prefer the old way with a single post but only two links, confident you can find B00m's Gallery by now? (There is of course no link limit on the Home Page because I control the code there).

As to the rest: The Doctor Cylon piece, based on a nice drawing of Jessica Rabbit by an artist I don't recognize, is undoubtedly the highlight, the other two being updates to older stuff. (I've got a lot of these, by the way, but I seldom post them given the vast quantity of completely new material in my files. I hope we all live long enough to see the complete collection.)

I refer in my description to "the best of the execrable spankings from the Big Top strip" and that is accurate on both counts: most of these spankings featuring Butch the Clown are, like the strip, simply terrible, and even here Butch only spanks wealthy Hetty McBuff by mistake! How warped could the cartoonist's thinking have been?

The This is the Life picture turned up on Ebay, and it's certainly worth seeing but in no way new material. Mostly we'll be seeing new stuff in the coming year, but occasionally it's necessary to update existing pages and this seems a good time of the year to do that since everyone is probably still pretty busy.

That sounds like a cue to segue into my plans for 2023, but I'm simply not prepared right now so I won't. I do have the next few updates coded, and I can say that we're going to return to Golden Age Marvel comics generally and Patsy Walker in particular for a while, along with more of Jessica Rabbit from Doctor Cylon and some brand-new fiction from D. M. Sherwood!

And oh yes - there's a fella by the name of HugoB00m who I'm sure is even now cooking up more adventures for O. T. Katie, so stay tuned in January and Happy New Year!

Not great, but I guess you needed to get it over with. In a way, a haughty society matron getting spanked might be entertaining... but the fun is greatly diminished by the fact that the spanker thought he was spanking a man!

Never saw Big Top comic strip but I do like see seeing a mature woman getting her large curvy bottom spanked soundly over the knee Great spanking drawing!!! It's been a long time since I've seen Richard's old clip, B00m, but I think Susanna Foster was acting just a bit uppity at her birthday party, so O'Connor's character suggests she deserves 18 whacks with the paddle, presumably to be administered by the different guests dividing them up, although I'd like to think it was 18 whacks each!

When I was a child in the 1950s I watched O'Connor in his "Francis the Talking Mule" films at the local cinema on Saturday Afternoon children's sessions. It used to cost 11 pence (9 cents) downstairs or 1 shilling and threepence (12 cents) upstairs.

Fortunately, he never spanked the mule. I do remember in "Francis joins the Wacs" a nurse had to give Francis a tablet by blowing it down his throat with a tube. Francis was too quick and the poor nurse swallowed the tablet. Nice bit of silent comedy.

11 pence! Things change, and change is often for the worse. I'm afraid, Willjohn, that the days of prices like that are gone forever.

The "Francis" series was quite popular for some reason, and there was an American TV series, Mr. Ed, that used the same premise with a horse instead of a mule. O'Connor had the misfortune to be a rising star at a time when the Hollywood Musical was running out of steam. The best one he was in was Singin' in the Rain (1952), followed by several pieces of fluff redeemed only by some fine dancing on his part. I remember one scene in which he did a dance number on roller skates, taking advantage of his light weight (only 126 lbs. in those years). I'm guessing a taller, heavier dancer like Tommy Tune would have had a hard time duplicating this feat due to a higher center of gravity.

Although he must have appeared in something like forty films, as far as I know This is the Life was the only one with a spanking in it.

I read that O'Connor lost a role in "White Christmas" to Danny Kaye because the mule he worked with gave him Q Fever. That would not have improved his mood.

The way things have gone the past few years it's a miracle I was able to do any searching at all, and yet I did manage some in 2021 and a little more last year. Let's break it down:

HUMORAMA: the last few digests from the "Classic" period of 1955-60 have remained frustratingly out of reach, preventing us from having a complete picture of the first printing dates of all the spanking cartoons, although I suspect we've seen them all in later printings from the 60s and 70s (but wouldn't it be wonderful if there were another undiscovered "spanker" from those years?). On the other hand, I was able to obtain a large number of magazines from the 1961-81 period, thus nailing down many more of the reprint dates of known "spankers".

At this point, much as I would like to complete my search of all Humorama publications from say 1952-1981, personal circumstances (meaning lack of time and money) are going to restrict me for the foreseeable future to hunting for the seven remaining digests from 1955-60 and the two issues (1974 and 1980) that contain the last three remaining known spanking cartoons that I haven't posted on CSR (I have very bad scans of them from ebay, which is how I know they exist and in what issues). There could of course also be some one-shots from the 70s, like Bill Maul's Patty Cake Spanking, but these will simply have to wait - if they exist.

COMICS: I searched approximately 16,000 pages this year for a total of 670,000. The number is inexact because I can't easily download complete issues from one important source, so I view them online which takes longer and leaves me without a page count. (I can download any important pages if I find them by using a method too complicated to detail here). The good news is that a lot of Golden Age Timely (Marvel) comics and some Golden Age Archie are now available from this source, so I will be using it when I can. Some interesting things have turned up including part of the Golden Age Marvel Series I'm doing right now, but nothing spectacular yet.

MISC: Time is short, but I still check out Richard Windsor and Anime OTK every week from which I have taken a few items, and DeviantArt, which is a richer source than AOTK but harder to search.

SUMMARY: I'm still finding new things for CSR, but really with the backlog of material I already have (over 2000 images in the Doctor Cylon master folder alone) my problem isn't finding new material but finding the time to post anything.

A short time later a newspaper cartoon had a similarly dressed woman being told by her hostess "You are sitting on Mr. Smith's left hand". A smiling Mr. Smith had his hand palm up on the chair she was to sit at.

The way that dress was made, it was bound to slip down eventually. (Unless it was held in place with some industrial glue!) When it comes down, what do we see? What else? a reddened butt! (If we wanted to see bared boobs, we would've beeen standing IN FRONT OF HER when the inevitable wardrobe malfunction occurred.)

"PopTop" is a little goofy, but even though its humor is based around Jessica's enormous bosom, Doctor Cylon is up to the task of turning it into a post-spanking cartoon.

Hedy Wolfe joins Nancy Brown and lead character Patsy Walker in getting spanked off-panel in the Patsy Walker comic book and being shown afterwards with a pillow strapped to the affected area. This is the last one of these I expect to show on the main site, although we will see Tessie the Typist just standing there with the pain stars a-flying after getting spanked. At least there are two known on-panel spankings of Hedy (links on the page) whereas Tessie, as far as we can tell, was never actually shown OTK although she had a pretty close escape on another occasion that of course we'll also see in the coming weeks over in the "Missed Opportunities" topic.

D. M. Sherwood's "The Mystic Three" is certainly a unique concept. Offhand I can't think of another spanking story featuring alien truants as the spankees, although honestly I don't read very much spanking fiction due to lack of time. These three find that earthlings take a dim view of their misbehavior and administer some good old-fashioned discipline to them in consequence.

I'm sure everyone remembers the Good Patsy / Bad Patsy spanking we posted some weeks ago which inspired B00m to see what he could do with the concept. I think he worked it very well and I'm sure CSR readers will be pleased by the results!

It's a fun story. Space aliens who could pass for American schoolgirls in the rural South! My only little nit-pick here is that in most of the U.S. a headmaster of a school would be referred to as a "principal".
