I was worried about the heading Wonder Woman spanks Captain Marvel. Then I realised that I was confusing Captain Marvel with Marvelman, the male superhero of English origins.

Don't feel bad about being confused, Willjohn - not only was there Marvelman, who replaced the original Captain Marvel ("Shazam!") at least in Britain (why not in the U.S.?) when DC successfully sued Fawcett over the character, ridiculously claiming he was an infringement upon their Superman; there was Marvel's Captain Marvel (the original, the alien from the Kree empire Mar-Vell), who depressingly died of cancer; the female Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers), the most under-spanked superheroine I can think of and later promoted to Captain Marvel; Monica Rambeau (CM #2, and with different super-powers); Genis-Vell (CM #3); three other guys whose names I can't remember (CM #4-6); and let's not forget Marvel Girl (alias Jean Grey, alias Phoenix, whom we have seen spanked but not nearly enough)!

Up to a point, I guess it's understandable that Marvel Comics (now a Disney subsidiary, alas) would want to keep a Captain Marvel for trademark purposes, but why couldn't they stick with one and avoid this level of confusion?

• Resident Artist Hugob00m never forgets O. T. Katie's birthday, and this year is her 47th. And we all know what happens to a girl on her birthday (plus we should remember what happens to Katie every year)!

The Bat-Trap piece - artist unknown - may not have featured Batgirl in the beginning since the spankee has blonde hair. (Batgirl #1, Betty Kane, had blonde hair but a different costume, while the better-known Batgirl #2, Barbara Gordon, had red hair). Someone may have added the cowl and gloves, but if so, I don't know if was Doctor Cylon. Either way, it's a nice piece.

I think it was the artist KMKBDSM himself who named his Batgirl drawing "Bad Batgirls Get Spanked" - the name I found affixed to it. He's done a lot of bondage work, and we're lucky he decided to add some spanking to this one.

We've actually got an unofficial M.J. Bivouac mini-series going on right now, and why not? Bivouac has done a lot of actual spankings as well as women in spankable positions, and I'm guessing he's had more work put in Doctor Cylon's Gallery than maybe anyone other than Julius Zimmerman and perhaps Tram Pararam. Checking the schedule, I see that we'll have more of his work the next two weeks, which will take us to the end of Super-Spanking Summer.

People are supposed to come back from their vacations rested and refreshed, but I always return as exhausted and beat-up as when I left. This is partly due to the fiction writing I do "on location" so to speak when I'm up there, because writing fiction takes more out of me than any other kind of writing. Writing the pages for CSR is easier, but I didn't have time for that so it's lucky I had the updates done ahead of time. In fact, the only thing left to be coded for the next two weeks is the Batman Beyond video. After that, we'll have Homecoming Week on September 8, probably featuring my remaining Archie material.

Yeah. A lot of people feel that way. I guess it depends on whether you do something you really want to do when you're off work, or you use the time fr something you have to do. Sometimes you don't really have a choice.

In non-fiction writing, you have to research facts... but you don't have to make it believable. If it's true, it doesn't have to sound probable. "Just the facrs, Ma'am."

In fiction you've got to make up stuff AND make it all believable. Just like in politics.

You reminded me, Butch, that I still have in my files a drawing of Poison Ivy bending over and one of her vines taking advantage of the opportunity to whip itself across her butt! I just didn't get around to it this year (I've currently got 75 items in the "Batman Family" folder including a couple of Ivy being spanked by her cohort Harley Quinn). I think we'll need to have another Batman Family Series that runs all of next summer.

• from Resident Artist Hugob00m comes another new adventure for O. T. Katie: Big Top Katie in which Katie goes undercover at the circus. Remember all those terrible clown paddlings we posted years ago? Well, it seems B00m did, and managed to come with a much better variation on that theme!

MJ Bivouac probably ranks third among artists who have inspired Doctor Cylon to color/animate their work, behind only Julius Zimmerman and Tram Pararam, and we conclude an unofficial mini-series of his work with perennial bad girl Harley Quinn.

The Batman Beyond clip was sent to me by Vakhose some years ago (I think the show was on right after the 1992 Batman animated series, say 1994 or 95. I don't know why we couldn't see it sooner; I think my video editing computer was unavailable for a while and then I just forgot about it. Anyway, the Joker-girl caning was a moment's relief in what we really a very grim series.

We really didn't make that much of a dent in my Batman Family stuff, so we'll have to do a longer series next year with more of Harley, Poison Ivy, and others.

We saw a fair amount of the X-Men's Rogue this year, so it's only fitting we see her Roguish rear end one more time, along side those of Kitty, Boom-Boom (no relation to our own HugoB00m), and Emma Frost (White Queen) as Wolverine applies his hand, belt, and wooden paddle! This special is chock-full of spanking action and I'm sure everyone will love it.

Finally, B00m's Big Top Katie sends her undercover for some clown-spanking the way it should have been done in all those terrible Golden Age comic books. Looking quickly through the site, I couldn't find most of them, so it may be I spared everyone having to see them and just put them in the Data Base. If you want the details, you can use your browser's search function to search the DB page for "Big Top" which was the unfunny strip in which most of these things were features.

There was one pretty poor M/F example from Big Top I did post along with a strange MAD fold-in clown spanking. And I think there may be a post card also with a clown paddling a fat lady that's still in my files, but the point is that while there may once have been a lot of clown paddlings in the circus and in comic books, they weren't very appealing to most of us. B00m has changed all that as I'm sure you'll agree when you see Big Top Katie.
