Gunilla Hutton has just blown the punchline of the joke she was telling and is expecting the scene to be cut before she gets the scripted swat. However, the stagehand offscreen operates the board anyway..
We've all been hoping to see Gunilla Hutton take her turn getting a Hee-Haw paddling since the subject first came up in 2011 (we believe - see this CSR Forum posting by Resident Artist Dan Eldorado). Up until now, we've only seen three of Hee Haw's many spankees taking their swats, mainly because the ol' Web-Ed here has never had the time to track all those segments down. But a while back, our old friend and contributor Robin did manage find this very unusual one featuring Gunilla. The videography is primitive - someone simply aimed his phone at his television and began recording - but it's well worth seeing, both because it's Gunilla and because although it belonged on a blooper reel for reasons that will soon become obvious, it was apparently aired as-is on the show.
Ooooo, that smarts!
Gunilla starts off o.k. before something happens to her that sooner or later happens to every actor: she forgets her line.
She was probably not expecting to get the board-swat at that point since it normally would have followed the line, but
the stagehand operating the board (remind us to apply for his job if the show is ever revived 
) went ahead and gave it to her anyway!
"I said I was sorry!" (All the men present were cheering under their breath 
.)
Gunilla actually apologizes for her very minor mistake, and after getting the swat she protests, "I said I was sorry!" -
a line that could have been written by our own Doctor Cylon! The best part is that it looks like she felt a very real
sting from that board, and rubs her sore behind afterward. So did she deserve the swat? Gunilla comes across as very
nice, and blowing one line is no big deal, so our answer is that while she didn't really deserve to be punished,
exactly, it never hurts to do a little extra rehearsing (if you know what we mean) of any scene with a spanking in it.
