The second spanking from Blackhawk came to us by way of Richard Windsor, whose specialty is spanking photographs but who has occasionally unearthed some spanking comics.

Here is our computer-assisted translation of the page:

Olaf: ...we captured the whole gang.

Andre: Good job, my friend.

Olaf: We don't look busty, [but] with their clothes and a bit of imagination and makeup heh, I was able to fool everyone.

Andre: Magnificent otherwise the lady, herman would have fled.

Olaf: Me too? But I'm going to get even!

Spankee: Oww-ooo!

Olaf: It's a good outlet [i.e. for his frustrations - Web-Ed]

Blackhawks: Ha Ha Ha!

It looks like the Blackhawks were up against some gang, possibly a girl gang (in which case there was certainly a missed opportunity for a mass-spanking scene with each Blackhawk spanking a bad girl), and that Olaf, possibly with another Blackhawk, managed to capture them all. How Olaf, with his huge shoulders, could possibly have disguised himself as a female gang member is beyond us, but we won't worry about it.

Unfortunately, the ultimate source of this story is unknown: it's clearly a Spanish-language comic, but where and when was it published? And was it a reprint of English-language material translated into Spanish or was it original work, done under license, for some foreign publisher?

What we can say is that the art is clearly not by Bill Ward, Al Bryant (both at Quality), or Dick Dillin (at DC), so reprints from those sources can be mostly ruled out, except that DC published the comic off and on between 1957 and 1984, and the post-Dillin issues have not been available to us thus far. It will be some time before we have the answers, but we'll keep on it.

The spanking panel isn't bad, with a nice view of the spankee's rear end and some subtle stinging-effect lines. Olaf is right: spanking a deserving female is indeed a healthy outlet for a man's frustrations!
