"Empowered" is one of those modern-day buzzwords that don't hold up well under close examination. Beloved by cultural Marxists and shallow-thinking feminists, "empowerment" or "empowered" cannot logically mean anything except to acquire power, that is, power over other people, although this is frantically denied by such outlets as Psychology Today who pretend it really means something like self-control or the acceptance of personal responsibility. Whether the kind of people who say "empowered" a lot were intended as an object of satire by Empowered creator Adam Warren isn't clear to us, but as they deserve to be spanked we find it gratifying that eponymous superheroine Empowered ("Emp" for short), who may be partly a stand-in for them, has indeed taken numerous swats to her behind - our official prescription for curing man-hating feminists of what ails them. The only thing better would be to see the arch-feminist Ms. Marvel receive a good, thorough paddling! big grin

Emp is a young woman whose costume, which you'll notice is all tattered and torn on the cover of Empowered #1 (at left), "empowers" her with super-powers. Unfortunately for her (but fortunately for readers wink), that super-suit is so thin and clingy (think of Bill Wenzel's dresses) that not only does it reveal her body, it gets torn very easily, which dis-empowers her and leaves her vulnerable to various super-villains. These bad guys (and girls) take full advantage of her weakness to tie her up (compare with the 1940s Wonder Woman). Her fellow superheroes laugh at her for being bondage-prone, and in at least one case we'll see later can't resist whacking her behind on the flimsiest of pretexts.

Let's see an example now of Emp being defeated, tied up, and spanked! This was provided to us by our old friend Alan (thanks, guy!). The exact volume this scene appeared in is not known (Empowered goes back to 2007).

As alluded to above, there are many other super-heroes in Empowered. One of these is Phallik, a name whose meaning is made all the more obvious by the "Male" insignia on his cowl and his primary weapon, the Phallospear. In one issue, he whacks Emp on her rear end no fewer than five times (on five separate occasions), each time pretending that these swats are merely "a gesture of comradely affirmation" until she finally protests, "Will you stop slapping my ass with that stupid spear?!" The scene is wonderfully done by Warren and totally hilarious:

Some place later in the story - we don't have the whole thing but think we found these pages during an internet search - we learn that Emp doesn't really mind being spanked after all, and really craves a good spanking! "I'm positively begging for a good, hard gesture of comradely affirmation over here!" she admits as she gives herself a little self-spanking.

The more we look at Empowered, the better we like it. If we ever have time, we'll try to obtain all the issues and search them for more spankings.
