CSR readers are by now pretty familiar with Patsy Walker, whose various titles were extremely successful for Marvel Comics beginning in 1945 and which have so far yielded ten spankings (our search is continuing as of this writing in 2023), half of them unfortunately off-panel. Patsy, along with Miss America the year before, were the vanguard of a host of new female characters at Marvel, and Stan Lee, returning home from World War II to once again take the helm at Marvel, found it necessary to put out new titles headlined by young women. The first and longest-running of these career girl titles was Millie the Model, quickly followed by Nellie the Nurse and Tessie the Typist. Millie's continuous run from 1945-1973 eclipsed even Patsy's, who was so popular she had replaced Miss America in her own book(!), although if we allow for Patsy's second career as Hellcat (starting in The Avengers #144, Feb. 1976) we suppose she has a claim to the longest publication history. However, despite one off-panel spanking in Tessie, it's Millie the Model that concerns us here as there was a nice spanking in issue #27.
Our story is called "Chili Helps Out," and it will quickly become apparent that Chili, Millie's rival at the modeling agency that employs them, functions as a foil character just as Hedy Wolfe did to Patsy Walker. In fact, we'll soon see how closely the plot of this story resembles that of Patsy Walker #62.

Chili bends over with her hands on her knees to receive a penance spanking from Daisy. Unfortunately, DeCarlo has Chili's knees bent, angling her hips downward (very bad in actual paddling practice) and depriving us of an arched back. Her rear end is still sticking out well enough for humorous purposes, though, as DeCarlo must have instinctively realized. (This was, of course, five years before DeCarlo began his series of 17 spanking cartoons at Humorama.)
The script is by Stan Lee, which is why we mentioned him earlier. This is of interest not only because of Lee's importance in comics history (you can read our brief obituary for him on the Bulletin Board), but because his authorship here strongly suggests he also scripted the five very similar scenes where the writer was uncredited, including the one from Patsy Walker #62 that we saw last time. The best of these is undoubtedly Venus #2 since it is the only one that is M/F. We list them all below for comparison purposes.
