Trolls de Troy (Trolls of Troy) is a series of French graphic novels telling the very strange story of a troll named Teträm and his adopted human daughter Waha. We can't say we find that setup too interesting, but it has been successful. We'd be more interested if there were a lot of spanking, but the only example we know of is this one and it's pretty strange.
We tried to translate some of the dialogue but it didn't seem to explain why the woman, whose name we think is Lady Meshanta, is whipping nine other women. Perhaps they're servant girls, but whoever they are, Lady Meshanta doesn't seem too interested in what she's doing, wielding the whip in a rather desultory manner, and the artist certainly isn't interested either since he doesn't show a close-up of the whipping action. About all we can say in its favor is that it demonstrates you can still find some corporal punishment in modern graphic novels although it doesn't equal the quality of what we had in the past.
