As we mentioned back in The Paddling of Penelope Pitstop, after being featured in The Wacky Races, Penelope starred in her own series, The Perils of Penelope Pitstop. In that show, she was menaced by The Hooded Claw and his underlings The Bully Brothers (shown standing behind her at far left), while the newly-reformed Ant Hill Mob (shown standing next to her) frequently came to her rescue. That's the entire cast in the first of two variations by Doctor Cylon on the work of an unknown artist.

In the second variation, a guest appearance is made by The Incredible Hulk of all people! Why that should be is hard to say, but the Hulk did spend a lot of time in the American southwest in the early years of his book since that's where Dr. Bruce Banner was testing his gamma bomb, and that also appears to be the location of Penelope and the rest here. The Good Doctor also moved the position of the sun for some reason, and it was only when writing this that we realized Penelope's bottom wasn't bare! (What is this world coming to?) Without a bare bottom to more fully colorize, let us say, Doc had to do the best he could with the material at hand. We can only suggest that perhaps The Hooded Claw's dastardly plot was to give Penelope a spanking, only to be foiled by the combined efforts of the Ant Hill Mob and The Hulk.
