Continuing with unorthodox spankings, we have this one which somewhat resembles the recently-posted Dr. Smith, Butt-Slapper. In this case, the boss disguises his spanks as "a pat on the back", leaving his secretary to request that he "raise his sights" even as she rubs her still-smarting fanny. Much as we like OTK positioning, we also like after-the-spanking rubbing and effect-lines that both indicate the spankee genuinely felt the spanks, and we get them both here. Because it appears to be a boss/secretary scene, we're calling it Secretary Spanking #32. The artist has a distinctive, very angular style - perhaps more sharply-angled than anyone's we've seen - yet we still can't identify him. This is his only spanking cartoon, and it is presented as another exclusive first here on CSR. |

04/05/2013 Update: We recently obtained a copy of the November, 1959 issue of Snappy which finally revealed who the artist was: the signature on this non-spanking cartoon reads "Henry Gaines Goodman" or something very close to it. Based on his low output for Humorama, it is extremely unlikely that Goodman (no known relation to publisher Martin or editor Abe) did any other spanking cartoons for them. |
