#37 - Take a Licking

Unlike the previous cartoon by Earl Engleman, this time we know what the gag is, but it's weak as well as weird. Yes, spankings have been called "lickings" in the past - sometimes school paddle-swats were even called "licks" - but there's just no way to build a good gag on this fact, so Engleman chose to build a bad one. Having the spanker's tongue out is just weird, while doing the same with the spankee's tongue makes no sense at all. It's too bad because without the tongues this wouldn't be a bad cartoon - the spankee's relaxed arms and closed eyes denote a genuine submissiveness, and Engleman gives her a big round rear which is probably his best characteristic, although he did nice full bosoms in his Humorama work as well.

This one appeared in Sex to Sexty #27, and we discovered it independently although Batart found it before we did, possibly at SPK although we haven't seen it there ourselves. The OTK position is unrealistic with the spankee basically levitated over the spanker's lap, but Engleman does give her a good amount of bending at the waist and an arched back, causing that big behind to be nicely stuck out.
