We continue our mini-series on the work of Paula Meadows as embellished by Doctor Cylon with Public Spanking.

Doctor Cylon is so amazingly prolific that it will probably astonish everyone to know that in addition to his own work, the good Doctor also sends me choice morsels from spanking artists that he hasn't altered in any way. (Why? I have no idea. Possibly lack of time, which I can surely understand, or because some of them are already in color.) That is the case with this week's selection, A Public Spanking by Paula.

Now I know we're in the midst of a series of Paula's works that have been colorized by Doc, but since he sent this one to me I included it as part of the series and put it in the Art Gallery with Paula's other stuff rather than in Doc's own gallery (I hope that's not too confusing, but follow the link above or the one on the Home Page and you can't go wrong). That's the only update I could manage this week (my goal is still two), but it's a nice drawing and presenting only one update has allowed me to pretty much finish coding the rest of October and actually get back to my mail box, where I'm up to the year 2018 now and still trying to work forward chronologically.

We will have two updates each for the remaining three weeks of the month culminating in more Humorama material.

This picture makes me curious about the story that it must've been part of. The size of the room, the small raised stage, and the coat-rack in the far background make me think that this spanking took place in an old town-meeting hall.

The expressions on the two men in the front row are almost as interesting as the spanking itself. Almost. One of them seems to be craning his neck to get a better look at the woman's butt. The other man seems to be taking a "let's wait and see" attitude.

The three women in the second row each have slightly different reactions. The one on the left seems slightly annoyed. I wonder if she's thinking, "Damn it! Even when she's being punished, she still manages to be the center of attention!"

The woman in the middle seems mildly amused, and her eyes are turned to the man with his arms crossed. It makes me wonder if she's the spankee's sister and the man is her father. Maybe she's thinking, "Yeah, Daddy, I've been telling you all along... what she needs is a good spanking! You never believed me."

And the woman on the right has an expression that looks like a smirk. Maybe she suffered in some way from the spankee's bad behavior. Maybe had a boyfriend stolen. Maybe got falsely blamed for something she didn't do. "Finally! She's had this coming to her for as long as I can remember! I hope he reddens her pert little backside to the color of a ripe tomato!"

This week's Paula Meadows/Doctor Cylon entry makes me sorry I don't have more of them in my files. I think there's four more to go including one in which the Good Doctor supplied a fictional story as accompaniment and which I may put in the Fiction section. The material is certainly enjoyable and I think Doc Cylon colorizes Paula's delicate pencils with commendable restraint.

I can't remember what I've said about the Bawdy Bard series, and I don't even know yet how many more entries in it there will be. This is due to the fact that while I've sorted all his material, I haven't filtered it out yet to remove anything I've already posted. Since I think his collaborations with artist Kevin Karstens represent his best work, I'm saving them for last. Until we get to them, we'll see some unusual items like this week's Robin Hood/Maid Marian cartoon. We'll have another Robin Hood cartoon next week and then see three cartoons that were altered by an unknown hand and then rehabilitated by BB - more about them when we get there.

This is a nice one. I like the O.T.K. positioning, her shapely rear end, which is showing some redness, and the look on her face. (And, when the Doc chose to give each woman in the picture a different hair color, he made the spankee a redhead! Good for him! )

The observers make me curious. The man looks like a banker, or mayor, or some other prominent townsperson in a western movie. The swimsuits on the three women, as you said, make me think of a beauty contest. Or, I guess, since they're wearing the same color and style of swimsuit, maybe they're in an athletic swimming team.

The second spanking featuring characters from Robin Hood is going to be the last of the "furry" stuff in the Bawdy Bard series with maybe one exception. I don't have a lot of the type left and, like B00m, I don't really favor them. It's strange to me how popular these "furry" spankings are over on sites like AnimeOTK, but then it's a very "modern" thing, meaning young people with questionable tastes are shaping the "market". I want to present as much of BB's material as possible because it's very good overall, but there are a few items that despite their considerable merits are a little too far off what I might call "the CSR path".

This week's main Doctor Cylon update is a nice French maid spanking by Paula Meadows lovingly colored by the Good Doctor. I don't know the exact origin, but I do remember Paula herself dressing as a French maid for a pictorial in Februs magazine, which she edited. Perhaps Paula liked the fantasy of being a servant who gets spanked by her master - and who could argue with that?

Then we have a bonus made possible by a rare oversight on my part: I have so much Cylon material that it's difficult to get all the versions of a particular drawing in one place. In some cases he sent them to me years apart; in others only a few months but they still wound up in different files. This one's an addition to the piece we posted just three weeks ago so it should still be fresh in everyone's mind.

Next Week: We switch the spotlight to Humorama as The Humorama Series continues and we revisit one of Dan DeCarlo's spanking cartoons with some further variations ! This is in keeping with my plan to present Humorama stuff the last week of each month, although I think we'll skip November and December because the holiday season is a busy time and I don't want anyone to miss out on new Humorama material.

I think the "french maid" is a popular fantasy in Middle-Class America. Most of us will never afford to hire maids to take care of our houses, and, even if we did, the labor laws we have in this country wouldn't allow us to spank them. But, it's a fun "what-if?"

I understand why you posted it, but just the same, I'm not really a fan of the "furries". Actually a "furry" male makes some sense, because men have beards and more body hair, so you might say a male "furry" is even more masculine than a regular man. But then, by that same logic, a female "furry" is less feminine. Oh well! we all have our individual preferences, and that's not one of mine.

Coming from a country where foxes are feral pests I would beg off any comment on the Robin Hood sketch.

I'm afraid things have been going downhill for me again, culminating in a serious computer problem today (Windows ) that has left me with no icons (Windows Explorer, the system's file manager, isn't working, meaning I have a black screen where the desktop (background picture plus icons with tray at the bottom of the screen) should be.

As CSR readers know, I have a lot of technical skills (if I didn't, CSR wouldn't exist in its current form), and even with a black screen I was able to start my Firefox browser and get to this board. However, I have no way of invoking my FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program so if I can't fix my computer I may not be able to upload this week's updates (which are completed, by the way). I might be able to invoke a host-provided utility, but that isn't certain. Going forward, once I fix Windows it looks like I'll eventually be reduced to one update per week again.

I mention all this so that if I can't get the updates uploaded or Windows reloaded before Friday, everyone will know what happened.

I don't fully understand the exact nature of the technical problems you're having... but I sympathize with you. Computers are nice to have when they work properly, and an immense frustration when they don't.

Just in case you aren't able to do an update this week, the CSR readers won't be totally without anything new. I posted a Halloween Ghost Story that I just finished writing in the Resident Artists section of the forum.

Thanks so much, B00m! As it happens, I'm up and running again after a hideous amount of work (no graphical user interface, so I had to control my PC by giving it instructions typed on a command line - made me feel like it was 1985 again!

This new entry in The Humorama Series was actually presented three years ago by Hugob00m on this board. I had not posted it previously although I already had a copy because I was still hoping to snag a copy of the digest it first appeared in (and I'm still waiting even now). I thought we'd do it this week even though most of CSR's readers will have already seen it so that the remainder of the series will be stuff that hasn't been seen before. Two points of historical interest: this is the first Humorama "spanker" thought to have made its first appearance in the early 1960s when the digests were mostly reprint except for some new material by Bill Ward, and this is the 222nd entry into the series .

We've all been through so much the past year probably no one remembers this, but last spring I renumbered the pages in the Humorama Series to reflect the actual number of the cartoons. I had not done so originally because back in 2004 I only had two Humorama cartoons and didn't even think of dedicating a special series to them until Mike gave me his collection in 2010. Therefore the most recent number (for now, 222) represents the number of Humorama spanking cartoons actually posted on CSR.

Our second update revisits a fine cartoon with more info and a truly strange version that some unknown person cut the gag off and then colored the art. Bawdy Bard picked it up somewhere (neither of us knows where) and added his own gag. This is presented as part of our ongoing series highlighting BB's work.

Next Week: We continue the Paula Meadows/Doctor Cylon series, and as an extra added bonus we'll see another cartoon from Bill Ward. It's not from Humorama, but it does have a spanking, and there's a story "behind" it that won't be fully told until some time in the future. I've already got this coded so I don't anticipate any problem posting it, but as I mentioned in "Bad Week" above I was already slowing down before Windows literally went black, so after that we'll probably be down to one update per week again. If that had to happen, it's just as well that it should be now because we're getting into the busiest time of the year when some of you may not have much time to visit CSR anyway.

This week's entry in the ongoing Bawdy Bard Series has a very strange history. Neither BB nor I knows who removed whatever gag there may have been from the original and then colored the work. BB picked it up on some obscure website and added a new caption. I did find another Ward cartoon featuring the same spanker/spankee combination in my files, but even with the additional clues there I still have no idea where either of these originally came from. Of course we'll see this other cartoon eventually, and I hope I remember to make it sooner rather than later, but I'm pretty well occupied right now with the Humorama and Bawdy Bard Series, along with trying to make a dent in the truckload of Doctor Cylon material I have.

Paula Meadows, being British, did so many caning and tawsing drawings that we sometimes forget she also did quite a few simple OTK spankings. This is one of them, as colored by Doctor Cylon, and it is also the 200th piece in the Doctor Cylon Gallery. Congratulations, Doc, and thanks for 11 years (and counting) of great stuff for CSR!

The woman looks excited to be spanked. There's a "story" to this? I'd be interested to know why she's wearing a bikini (that she's falling out of) in the kitchen with a younger man who's spanking her. Maybe I'm over-thinking this. She has a round butt and she's getting spanked.
