Spankee #1 bends over to receive her birthday swat at the East Side Restaurant. We extracted this still from the video at the moment someone was taking a flash photograph, thus illuminating the scene, which was also very close to the moment of impact. We wouldn't mind having this guy's job except we'd look silly wearing short pants and lederhosen.
The Hofbrauhaus(es) are not alone in paddling their customers, strange as that seems. There is at least one other German restaurant (that is, they feature German cooking) that does so, although it appears they offer traditional birthday spankings instead of swats with shots like the Hofbrauhaus does. It's called the East Side Restaurant in New Britain, Connecticut, and we saw it some years ago in Melissa Gets a Swat. We return now to see two more ladies celebrate their birthdays the good old-fashioned way - with a spanking!
The main problem with Spankee #1's video is that the camera (this was some years ago) could not compensate for
the low light level. Sometimes we try to lighten the movie a little in the editing process, but the technique
is not perfect and we elected not to employ it here. The spankee does take a fairly good swat and acts
like she feels the sting - hooray! The other thing we like is how everyone cheers the swat.
