We're going to initiate now a series on public paddlings in bars (where else?), principally the Hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas and Chicago. We sort of intended to do this years ago, but didn't get much beyond the paddling of Candace Gillespie in Vegas. Worthy as that was, we've had a lot of this material just piling up the past dozen years, and it's time to present it.
First up is a scene we call "Four Foolish Women," which we hope doesn't sound unkind. It does seem like they blundered into something they didn't expect when they ordered a shot delivered on a paddle, for as our little film begins we see them lined up to receive a swat delivered with that same paddle - a custom they may not have fully understood. Most of the laughter is coming from an unseen woman to our right, although we don't know if she got paddled as well.
It always pays to observe the interesting reactions of the spectators to these paddlings. Watch the video more than once - you'll notice at least two people, including a waitress, who can't take their eyes off the spectacle and even applaud when the paddle is applied!
