We have seen so many examples of spanking in Mexican comic books that a thorough examination of Mexican comics would seem highly desirable. Unfortunately, Mexican comics have been far less studied than their American cousins, probably because fewer publishing records have been kept and creators seem strangely reticent to discuss their past work, and perhaps also because Mexican collectors may not be as well-organized into information-sharing groups. But three things seem clear: (1) Mexicans love comics at least as much as Americans, and probably more; (2) Mexican comics have featured a lot of spankings; and (3) Mexican comics do a generally excellent job when it comes to portraying a M/F scene, as we'll see once again in this example from El Payo #542.
It was written by a man named Vigil, but we're not sure whether his first name is Carlos or Guillermo. This was a weekly comic, so no one artist could have drawn every issue, and the only name we could come up with in connection with the art is that of Ángel Mora. The strip's subject matter is the life of the Mexican cowboy, which Vigil apparently researched with great care.
This is an excellent, extended spanking that also appears on the cover. It is delivered with gusto to a deserving female bandido in reasonably good OTK position, and with her skirt raised which has led us to think of it as "the pink panties spanking". As we'll see, the stinging heat and reddened bottom that go hand-in-hand with spanking are explicitly mentioned in the captions and dialogue, making this a rare treasure indeed.
The original scanner of these pages is unknown, although most CSR readers have probably seen them before. Among other places, they were posted by Dan Rivera on our very own Forum, from which we took page 6 here (the other five having already been in our files and also posted by Dave Wolfe on SpankingPanels). The exact date this comic was published is not known. Dan estimates the year as 1970; based on the issue number and a reference we found to this series as dating from the mid-sixties it could have been later, perhaps around 1975.
