Doctor Cylon turned to the art of Baron Gerald von Lind (1937-2017) to produce this striking modification of a naughty nautical girl with a very red bottom. We don't know what Lind's original title was, but we were sure we remembered seeing the model and photograph on which his painting was based. Let's take a look now. |

At first it might seem like something of a miracle that even we could have recalled the ultimate source
material for von Lind's painting, and we certainly are blessed with an excellent memory, but
luck played a role here also, for there was something about "The Girls of 1963" (that is, Playboy's
Playmates of that year) that really got our young attention (this was some time after 1963 when we
started reading old Playboys) and there was no way we would ever forget any of them. It might have been
some excellent color photography. It might have been that there were some exceptional beauties among
them. Or it might have been that many of their photo layouts featured their nice-looking, spankable
bare bottoms Sandra Settani attended Southern Illinois University and later moved to Miami Beach where she did some modeling. It must have been there that she came to the attention of legendary model and photographer Bunny Yeager (1929-2014), who was responsible for so many girlie photographs including some very nice shots of models in bikinis bending over (see Humorama Spanking Positions and its sequels over in the Humor Section.) Lind was a phenomenally versatile artist being a noted wildlife painter and portraiture artist (he did the official portrait of President Ronald Reagan) as well as doing many pin-ups, two of which appeared in this gallery (Western Wallopin' back in 2011 and Hot Seat a year later in 2012). His pin-up paintings often feature women with very nicely-proportioned rears, making them good material for the good Doctor as long as the camera angle is favorable. Doctor Cylon certainly knew what to do with Sandra's Seat here, giving it a restrained but healthy pink coloring.
As for "The Girls of 1963," male CSR readers might just want to look them up to see what so
captivated the young Web-Ed. Ten of them are still alive as of this writing (2020) fifty-seven years
later, and one of them became one of Bill Cosby's accusers |
