#19 - Bill Ward's Well-Reared, Well-Spanked Girls

We continue our Bill Ward F/F mini-series with two scans of a cartoon featuring what appear to be two sisters, either actual siblings or perhaps members of the same sorority. On the left is a scan from Tumblr; on the right is one we did ourselves from Mike's collection. It would be interesting to know if both came originally from the same Humorama digest, but because the Tumblr scan cuts off any possible page number we'll probably never know.

The editor came up with a not-bad gag about "well-reared girls" but messed it up by changing "reputation" to the non-synonymous "tradition" in the second clause. Ward did his part, though, giving us a "well-reared" spankee who seems rather unconcerned about her predicament as the pretty spanker applies the implement (it may be a ruler or small paddle) to her well-defined buttocks. This is good work from Ward's early period, with pretty girls wearing incredibly form-fitting silk-satin lingerie or something very similar. The OTK positioning is good but not perfect because of Ward's habit of allowing motion at the spankee's hip instead of confining it to the knee.

01/04/2013 update: We've located the original source now - the September, 1956 issue of Comedy - and the caption is exactly the same as the reprinted version's except for punctuation and typography. The spankee is nicely restrained; again, this is certainly one of Ward's better F/F spankings.
