#11 - Secretary Spanking #16

Like our previous entry, this cartoon relies upon the excuse of bad punctuation to justify spanking the secretary. The gag is weaker, though, and certainly written by the editor. The art this time is by "Bill Power", an obvious pseudonym, but for whom we don't know. As for the OTK positioning, the secretary's upper body is placed correctly but her legs and hips are projected strangely up in the air. On the plus side, she seems to be wearing a very tight slip that defines the target area rather nicely.

11/11/2016 Update: We still haven't identified the exact source of Mike's cartoon, but it is probably from 1967 (there appears to be a "2-67" or "7-67" pencilled at the bottom right-hand corner). However, we have now found the other three printings (most of the Humorama "spankers" seem to have been printed four times) and we'll present them now. The original was first discovered by Steve W. in the December 1959 issue of Stare and he was kind enough to send it to us a few years ago; later, we found our own copy. Both of these are shown below:

The cartoon was later reprinted twice more (after the 1967 reprint): in the April 1973 issue of Cartoon Parade and finally in the November 1979 issue of Funhouse Comedy (by then it was simply Funhouse). The caption was slightly rewritten to reference a "Mr. Paddlewell" who paddled the secretary's fanny well. The printing is very similar to the earlier two versions but we think they may have been printed on better-quality paper.
