Hi everyone,

Being named Phil doesn't seem to be a good thing here at CSR. You may have noticed that I am not making as many comments as I usually do. That is because I too have some serious health issues. That's about all I can tell you at this time. I'll let you know more after I see the specialist next month. Phil

Phil - I am terribly sorry to hear that. Again I know I speak for the entire CSR community when I say that you and Phil S. will be in our thoughts and prayers throughout this Holiday Season. We all hope you both will get well soon, and please keep us apprised.

Weekly Updates for 12/21/2018

Post by web-ed »

A rough time at CSR as Phil O. and Phil S. are both suffering from health issues (see previous posts on this thread if you missed them). We wish them the best and hope they can follow our weekly updates as they recuperate.

This week:
The Comic Strip Series continues with a modern comic. We're not sure what it's called, so we named this episode "Try Not to Swear" (when you're getting the paddle across your rear). :D

Now a final note about For Better or For Worse which I should have made last week. There are two other spanking episodes that should be mentioned. The first of these is Elly spanking young Mike off-panel, which means it won't make it in the data base much less be posted. The second, which I cannot locate at the moment, is I believe John spanking Mike, and it too won't be put in the data base if it's off-panel as I remember it. Anyone wishing to see these scenes out of curiosity should email me or send me a PM on this board.

Next Week: The Comic Strip Series gets the last week of the year off as we change gears completely and present a sorority paddling scene from the critically-acclaimed (by us :D ) film Coed Fever. It may be a cold night, but this scene will keep you as warm as the pledges' behinds after the paddles were applied  !

As to future plans, this isn't the time to go into details, but I can say that in January we'll resume the Comic Strip Series with three spankings of Alice Mitchell from Dennis the Menace, after which we'll once again start posting more of Phil Sweetspot's :ugeek: great discoveries.

Hi, Web-ed.

I like this one.
web-ed wrote:This is a pretty relaxed scene, with the choice of implement, a long paddle, not really suited to the OTk position.
Yeah. I think that might be my only criticism of the strip. If he was going to use the long paddle, she'd be better bent over the arm of the couch. Or... going the other way... I like the OTK postition, so it would be better for me if he had used something small, like a hairbrush or a ping pong paddle... or even better than that: his hand!

It looks to me as if this spanking may be more about foreplay than punishment, with the woman completely naked. But even if he started out, ostensibly to "punish" her, I think they're both getting aroused! ;) ;) ;) ;) (The artist certainly gave the woman a nicely rounded alluring pair of buttcheeks... the kind that would make a man want to spank her even if she hadn't been naughty!)
web-ed wrote:We're not sure how to interpret his "You would be better off calling for Batman" in response to her exclamation of "Jesus!". Perhaps he's not a Christian, but we think it would be a mistake to search this strip for any deep religious significance one way or the other.
Maybe if this one strip was part of a larger storyline, it would make sense. Somehow, I don't think Batman would do anything to stop the woman from being paddled. If anything, he might wait his turn and spank her himself!

Weekly Updates for 12/28/2018

Post by web-ed »

The Comic Strip Series gets the last week of the year off as we change gears completely and present a sorority paddling scene from the critically-acclaimed (by us :D ) film Coed Fever. On a cold night this one will keep you as warm as the pledges' paddled bottoms.

Next Week: The Comic Strip Series returns as the new year begins with two cartoons featuring the parents of Dennis the Menace. Perhaps Dennis lacks for discipline, but his mother Alice sure doesn't!

Only three days left in 2018 - wow! That being the case and everyone busy at this time of year, and Phil S. and Phil O. both ill, this isn't the time to go on at length about much of anything. As noted, the Comic Strip Series will return next week and either then or in two weeks I can go into my expectation for the upcoming year at CSR. Until then, may the New Year bring you good luck, good health, and always good spanking!

Shame the school those girls went to did not teach them the importance of bending over with their legs kept straight while they were paddled. They looked like Fred Karno's Army.

Yes, that was what passed for spanking material back then. I have even heard that pictures of girls in those "crappy spanking magazines" were not even showing results of actual spankings-their red bottoms were from the application of rouge!
Never was a fan of vanilla porn either. But back then would eagerly await the latest issue of Mr. and Nugget for any spanking letters, stories, or articles they might have,
Back then if you wanted to maybe find spanking material, it often involved a visit to an adult bookstore in a disreputable neighborhood. Though sometimes regular convenience stores would have something like the magszines mentioned, or Letters magazine, where some issues would have spanking letters along with ones on other fetishes,
In the 80s sometime CF Publications came along where you could order spanking stories by mail. on plain sheets of letter size paper, Not sure what has happened with them since the Internet.
Then again, so many wonderful spanking websites are also gone , like Spanking Classics and World Spanking Forum. And others are pretty much dead.

They did indeed, Willjohn! (I wonder if Karno was an influence on Benny Hill?) The paddling scene had such an improvised character to it that I think we're lucky one or two of the actresses seemed to understand they needed to line the pledges up and at least made an attempt to bend them over a little.

Yes, I well remember seeking out adult bookstores in Chicago in the 80s and early 90s in search of spanking material. There was one up on Lawrence on the north side of Chicago (you want to stay away from the south side!) that actually had some of Shadow Lane's videos, although I couldn't really afford them at $75.00 each or something like that because it was a fortune to me. I think they had some of Red Board's also, and I've always hoped to find an old Red Board tape to capture the opening sequence which was a paddle painted red being genuinely applied to a shapely, bent-over derriere  . Perhaps we'll do a special on "crappy old spanking mags" some time at CSR as I still have a small number of them.

As for Mr., you'll be glad to know that thanks to you I was inspired several years ago to track down a few old issues with spanking mentions in them. I had to resell the issues out of financial necessity, but I did of course scan the relevant pages and have always planned to share them as part of a "Spanking in Men's Magazines" series or special. I think I'd prefer to do them as a special, but they'll have to wait until the current Comic Strip Series concludes and I've completed the new "Newspaper and Magazine Gallery" (currently under construction).

As to CF Publications, the name sounded familiar to me and sure enough they turned up here: CF Publications. So they survived the transition to the internet and their site is definitely worth perusing. :)

Fred Karno was an English impressario credited with inventing the custard pie in the face routine.

" Fred Karno's Army" was a group of slapstick comedians he managed which included Charlie Chaplin and his understudy, Stan Laurel. The term is still in English slang for any chaotic organisation. Benny Hill would have been influenced by comedians in the Karno tradition.

I'm not a big fan of sorority paddlings, since they're always F/F. It might be nice if they did a movie or a video in which the girls partnered with one of the fraternities and put the frat-boys in charge of paddling the sorority pledges! Or maybe the dean finds out that a sorority has been violating the school's anti-hazing rule and brings in the leader to give her a paddling of her own!

But... on the positive side...

Weekly Updates for 01/04/2019

Post by web-ed »

The Comic Strip Series returns after a week off as the new year begins with two cartoons featuring the parents of Dennis the Menace. Perhaps Dennis lacks for discipline, but his mother Alice sure doesn't! First we see Alice Mitchell Spanked Animated and then another gem from the Karstens/Bard file, Alice Mitchell Spanked by Karstens and Bard :D .

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope the holidays went well for you and that Phil O. and Phil S. are getting better. :)

I'd like to talk a little about my plans for this year. First, I have done some detailed planning and the Comic Strip Series has enough material to pretty well take us all the way to Super-Spanking Summer - and that's without Andre's finds on his site that I haven't even finished looking at yet or Phil S.'s that have appeared on this forum but not in Comics Gallery 2. That's an impressive amount for a series that has already gone on for two years, but then it does include not only Phil's finds but also my own, Andre's, Robin's, and Bishop Berkeley's. I would like to continue it without further breaks but we'll see whether I can manage it given some of the other demands.

What other demands? Well, apart from Super-Spanking Summer there is the division of the old Picture Gallery (still there for now) into new Art, Photos, Newspaper/Magazine (to be named for Phil S. because of his many newspaper contributions), and Stage/Screen/Television galleries. I am determined to see these new galleries in place as part of this key anniversary year, and their construction is already underway. No estimated date of completion at this time as there is a great deal of recoding to do.

Yes, CSR's 15th Anniversary is coming up this April! Despite all the obstacles, I feel obligated to come up with some specials this year even though the ongoing series on Comics Strips is as good or better than anything we've ever done here, at least from the standpoint of pure enjoyability :D . But good as the series is, it's also demanding and I'm overworked so I don't want to over-promise on what else I can deliver. Right now, I have three specials planned:

1. A Tribute to Bending Over (should be fun  and relatively easy)
2. Novelty Paddles - us old-timers all remember seeing these sold in souvenir shops, and I've gathered a whole bunch of pictures of them
3. The Identity of the old "ACES" Artist Revealed - it seems like I've been promising this one almost since the site's inception, but I have most of the necessary raw materials now and this anniversary year is a good time to finally unmask this great talent who kept his interest in spanking pretty secret during his lifetime. He worked for a major comic-book company but did not draw any spankings for them as far as I know - and that's the only clue I'm going to give you for now.

Next Week: The Comic Strip Series returns to the great finds of Phil Sweetspot with the seventh spanking from Captain Easy! :)

WOW! I'm touched and truly humbled! Thanks for the honor. I hope that the new gallery will be filled to overflowing with all kinds of good things like this little gem from the 1920s...

Hi, Web-ed.

That's odd! I wrote a comment on last week's update, and then I looked today and it was gone!
web-ed wrote:The Comic Strip Series returns after a week off as the new year begins with two cartoons featuring the parents of Dennis the Menace. Of the two, I liked the Karstens/Bard one better. Dennis looked exactly the way Ketchum used to draw him, and the parents looked almost the same... except that Alice was a little more shapely, and Henry seemed more muscular. Those changes could be seen as improvements, especially in an erotic context. I'd be happier if Alice weren't wearing manacles... but that's a minor quibble.
web-ed wrote:Novelty Paddles - us old-timers all remember seeing these sold in souvenir shops, and I've gathered a whole bunch of pictures of them.
I'm looking forward to that one! I remember seeing one that had a poem about reasons for using it, and one line was, "For nice young brides who burn the toast."

Glad to hear you're doing so well, Phil :D !

I see you've got another big find for us - thanks! It will go into your new gallery, but I should explain that the gallery's debut will have relatively little in it - just the newspaper and magazine stuff from the current Picture Gallery (15 items) plus maybe one or two of your finds at first. The reason of course being that I have to extensively recode about 180 web pages, and even though I'm typically doing mass-changes on four or more pages at a time, the amount of work is horrendous. The good news is that this new gallery is just about finished - it's the Art Gallery that's going to take longest.

I don't recall hearing about Her Big Night before - evidently it was staged less often than Men are Like Streetcars, which enjoyed many amateur productions whose spanking scenes often made the local papers.
