Not much else to report: I'm really trying hard to go through the mail chronologically, but the pile is big and it takes me a long time to deal with each one. The benefits are that I'm being reminded of some fiction submissions that should have been posted a long time ago and I'm finally getting to them now.

On the search front, it's gotten next to impossible to find any of the Humorama books I still need, and I'm awfully tired of glancing through Gabby Hayes Western - how many issues of that thing were there, anyway? Saw one missed opportunity for a spanking but nothing else. At least the pile of comics is under 500 now as I slowly wade through them. A few more romance comics have come in, so maybe we'll get lucky. Or maybe Gabby will stop gabbing and start spanking!

Hi, Web-ed.

It's been a while since I've logged on, so I have comments going back a ways.

I really liked the second "Kinky Girl" installment! She's cute with a very nicely-curved backside.

The boyfriend looks like he might be the same one as before. Maybe he's learned to spank the "Kinky Girl" with the right intensity: not too hard, but hard enough. And maybe that's easier to do in an OTK position with a small paddle than it was with a cane and her bent over a... gym horse?

I liked the joke too.

And then... Alice the Goon? Not very pretty, but it was sort of a funny gag. And,,, surprisingly... Alice had some nice buttock definition when she was in the OTK position!

And I'm a little iffy about the Radio Patrol spanking. Was Red too young? Her behavior and her height would suggest early teens, but her figure seems more mature than that. I don't really know whether she should be included here.

Your point is well-taken, guys. I was skating on thin ice with this one, and perhaps I shouldn't have pushed my luck after originally deciding to present it by revisiting it with Andre's scans. One problem is that I'm attracted to bizarre scenes, and the spankings in Radio Patrol were more than a little weird . I promise I'll try to watch it in the future.

I'm glad to see Doug's fiction is getting some attention. Maybe he'll write some more of it - he'd probably given up on ever seeing it in print - but honestly, it's just been so difficult to keep the lights on and prepare a weekly update that I've simply had no time to try to figure out what chronological order things have been submitted in. I don't organize that way but by category anyway so I have to check whatever is in the files and try to do the best I can.

Hoping to get back to the mail soon.

• The Comic Strip Series continues with a mystery spanking we call The End Result. Not exactly our finest hour - we don't have much info on this one - but perhaps CSR readers can fill in some of the blanks.
• More fiction from Doug S., this time in the form of a television sketch that brings to mind the "Who's On First?" routine of Abbott and Costello: Who Started It? But Doug's sketch has something the classic one didn't, namely girls getting paddled!

I had planned to present this week a lovely Dagwood Spanks Blondie piece I picked up a while back, but because I'm a little concerned - and annoyed - with "The End Result" for reasons I explain on the page, I reversed the schedule and delayed the Blondie one since I had Doug's "Who Started It?" to reinforce the updates this week. (That is, I'm hoping any shortcomings of "The End Result" relating to the paucity of information I have about it will be offset by Doug's humorous piece). So we'll have Blondie next week by which time I hope to have the schedule for the rest of the year mapped out and maybe we can talk about that.

Burning the midnight oil again, so I'm too tired to say all the things I want to. I did finally find a romance comic spanking this week, after going through some hundreds of romance comics the past couple of years without so much as a butt-slap, but it's a guy spanking his girlfriend's 12-year old sister so I don't think I'll be presenting it. I will present the information, however, as soon as I get around to doing some Comics Spanking Data Base updates, which will happen as soon as I make some more progress with the backlog of mail...

Hi, Web-ed.

I have some partial information about your mystery spanking. The drawing was used in a newspaper article in the early '70s. I don't have a date for the article, and I don't know if the picture was drawn specifically for the article or not.

Recently I ran across a reprint of that article in SPK Comics.

Even though I don't remember the date of this article, I'm pretty sure it was between 1971 and 1973, if that helps any.

I think I may have narrowed it down a little more. How about March 1971?

That sounds about right, B00m - having wasted too much of my life in Illinois, I remember this story. No wonder something about the drawing seemed so familiar!

The interesting thing is how many coeds were so broke they were willing to get spanked for money. And if this doofus, who gave a bad name to us spankos for years afterward, had paid them their promised $15 as he should have, we probably would never have found out what was going on. There is no law in Illinois as far as I know against being paid for taking a spanking, but there is one against fraud and after a good talking-to by the State's Attorney's office, he paid off the girls (now in their late 60s - think of that !) and was in the clear.

I was so obsessed with trying to find out whether this drawing came from a comic strip or merely used some comics characters I couldn't remember that it never occurred to me to check the newspapers. If I had looked in my own newspaper spankings file(!), I would have found four versions of the drawing including the newspaper article. all apparently supplied by Dave Wolfe. So:

1. B00m, thanks so much for clearing this up.
2. I will modify this page and move it to Phil Sweetspot's Newspaper Gallery (newly-created this year, as some may remember).
3. It's possible that Mike D. clipped this story when it appeared in a Milwaukee newspaper and it's still in my big box of hard-copy spanking materials because I seem to remember having seen it there. I will have to check and if it exists, add it to the page. Phil S. might have found it independently also, so there's a lot to look through - luckily I've got next week's Dagwood/Blondie spanking already done.

Spanked for money? Who would have thought of that?

This guy did ! Odd as he was, he was also ahead of his time in a way, for I don't think there were a lot of BDSM parlors in 1971 where you could find a pro submissive to spank for money, even in Chicago. And there were some reasons to advertise for college coeds because they were (1) over 18, so the whole thing was perfectly legal; (2) probably broke, although at a school like NW some would have had wealthy families; and (3) were young and naive enough not to guess right away that this "researcher" had more up his sleeve than his elbow .

Honestly, I can remember looking for a pro sub to spank but not finding one only a few years later, when I had no spanking partner and wouldn't have used my looks (good at the time) to persuade some non-spanko girl to go across my knee - it wouldn't have seemed right. (I did try to persuade a small number of women in my youth but on what I considered more legitimate grounds, e.g. they had it coming or I suspected they were into spanking).

This reminds me of Raven Hill Studios, which I haven't looked in on in years, during its early days (say c.1995-2000). The guy who owned it - I can't remember his name - would simply walk down the beach, "propositioning" good-looking young women in bikinis. If they accepted, back to his trailer they went and got paid for being videotaped taking a spanking! Probably some of those early spanking clips are still out there somewhere.

And indeed many early spanking models probably did it only because they needed the money. I remember Nu-West's Ed Lee saying once that he didn't advertise for models; he simply answered the ads of women who made it clear they would do quite a bit for money. One of his early models was this long-legged blonde who I think was a waitress, and she took some fairly hard paddlings not because she liked it but because she was always short of cash. Some of the more recent (say last 15 years) models of course are actually into the scene, as were probably even the early Shadow Lane models.
