O.K., this one is pretty lame, but it came about because of some interest in the old television series Petticoat Junction that was expressed on the CSR Bulletin Board here and here. We eventually dug it up somewhere, but it was so long ago we don't remember where or if we had any help in finding it. Betty Jo (Linda Kaye (Henning)) gets one swat with her own baseball glove from her mother (Bea Benaderet).
Linda Kaye Henning was the daughter of series producer Paul Henning. It's interesting to note that the role of her sister
Billie Jo (here played by Jeannine Riley) was later played by Gunilla Hutton, whom we saw
get swatted on Hee-Haw.
Bea Benaderet, who plays Kate Bradley, actually had quite a long career that included voicing a lot of female characters
for Warner Bros. cartoons in the 40s and 50s, and later voiced Betty Rubble for The Flintstones, where of
course she took quite a paddling (see it here).
