We have previously seen the old "Swat the fly (behind)" gag in Archie comics with
Archie swatting Veronica.
Andre at SPK Comics has found another example: this time it's Veronica
as the spanker and Betty as the Spankee. This occurred in Laugh Comics #30
(December 1948) with story and art by Samm Schwartz, who did the
second spanking of Suzie as well as a Suzie
after-the-spanking scene. Evidently ol' Samm is
a man to watch - he may have done other spankings for Archie Comics.
The set-up is simple: Betty volunteers to help Veronica open up the Lodge family vacation cabin in the woods. The girls are plagued by mosquitoes, so they shut all the windows (must have been a very old house if it didn't have screens) but one insect remains to land on Betty's behind. Let's see:

Here's the spanking panel. Veronica puts some real "Oomph!" into the swat, but it
couldn't have hurt too much because it was only with a rolled-up newspaper. (We
spanked a girl with one once on a bet when we were 12 and it didn't get much of a
reaction
). Still, it fits our criteria for
inclusion into the
data base
(hand or hand-held implement making contact with the buttocks) and it's the best we have
for our 2019 Homecoming Edition.
