Hi, Web-ed.

(You and I may be getting older, but neither one of us is lazing around, that's for sure ).

I guess you could say that. I started collecting social security this year and semi-retired. I'm still working for the same retail store I was, but now I'm part-time. That gives me more time for repairing and maintaining the house... plus a little goof-off time. Drawing O.T. Katie cartoons is what I do to relax.

You know, B00m, I figured you'd need the week off before posting another Katie story

I mentioned last week that I had placed a new banner on the CSR Home Page. B00m commented:

I see you've incorporated images from all three of your resident artists, plus a panel from a classic romance comic. I think that's a fair representation of the site within the space limitations you have.

That was my idea, B00m, but I still thought it might be a bit unclear just as the old banner was. I mean, how many people visited the Home Page and didn't understand why there was a guy with a machine gun there? Or why I "borrowed" some paddles from the Yale Class of 1919?

I like making jokes at Yale's expense (I never attended or taught there, although I did teach college long ago), but what the joke was supposed to be in the case of those paddles I can't say. "The best thing about Yale is sorority girls getting paddled"? Perhaps I simply thought paddles were an appropriate decoration for the CSR Banner, which is true, but surely we could do better.

About Chicago: the truth is, I've never liked it even though I've spent most of my life in the greater Chicago area, and at this point I positively hate the city. The guy with the machine gun was a reference to "The Untouchables" and the gangs of the 1930s, but it was horribly outdated. Today's gangsters typically carry handguns instead of machine guns, but guns of whatever type are not the problem - and I say that as a guy with holes in one of his widow panes that weren't exactly made by moths - and I thought a sardonic reference in the form of the "Police Barrier" yellow tape to the carnage the gangs cause because the City's government refuses to lock them up would make the point more clearly than a picture of these modern gangsters themselves would. Government officials' sympathy for criminals is not the only problem, but if we start getting into the social pathologies of America's inner cities we're going to wander too far afield even for me .

Why mention Chicago at all? Unfortunately, I'm stuck with it because "chicago" is part of the site's URL. I suppose back in 2004 promoting local spanking events was a lot more important to me than it is today. Anyway, that's how it all came about. Personally, I'm stuck with Chicago because of elderly relatives but I do hope to move to Indiana soon.

So in the new banner I had to keep something pertaining to Chicago but I also wanted to highlight what the site is about today. Why not highlight the tremendous contributions of our Resident Artists? And in the space remaining, why not continue the tradition of using an example of a comic book spanking (a new one even though there was nothing wrong with the old)? So that's what I did. I still wasn't completely satisfied, so I added some explanatory credit lines and that's what we'll go with until I have time to think up something better. I would have liked to squeeze Humorama spanking cartoons in there somewhere but I was afraid it wouldn't fit. And I suppose I should have coded the thing in HTML instead of patching it together in Microsoft Paint, but that's another issue.

I'm sure we all wish we had the spanking of an actual Jungle Girl, or failing that any female getting spanked OTK, but Jo-Jo the Congo King gently applying his whip to bad girl Tonka's butt was the best I could come up with in this genre. In fact, I only have two other spankings from actual adventure comics in my files at this time: one is a bad M/M paddling of some villains I'm not going to link to even after I post it, but the other is the Blackhawk spanking I've had for about 5 years but could not document until recently. For some reason I decided to delay the Blackhawk one a little while longer until we got through some other genres - don't ask me why because I don't remember - but we will finally be seeing it near the end of what looks like it's going to be a fairly long series.

We've seen Cheetara of the Thunder Cats series before, and Doctor Cylon sees that she gets spanked again - 'nuff said!

And finally HugoB00m is at it again with another new Katie strip with another spanking for another female character - and it's worth another look !

Next Week: We continue our Comics Spankings Series by beginning a new mini-series of foreign comics, and within that a mini-mini-series of Spanish-language comics, starting with "The Spanking Sheriff," and then Doctor Cylon begins a series of cartoons featuring the gang from Scooby-Doo.

First of all: Your new banner makes complete sense to me, and I'm honored to have something of mine represented in it. I didn't think your old banner was all that hard to understand, but then, I watched the old Untouchables TV series when I was a kid, and recognized the prohibition-era gangster with his Tommy-gun.

Just a brief digression about The Untouchables: The so-called "experts" say that young children can't distinguish between reality and fiction when they see it on TV. Of course they can! If they have a parent who explains the difference. My father and I watched shows like The Untouchables together, and he would tell me how much of it was real and what was made up.

During some very bleak times recently, I found myself so debilitated each night that I couldn't do much other than look up the episodes of the old Scooby-Doo series (the original one). I hadn't seen these since they were originally run in 1969, but they were pretty much as I remembered. Sure, they were formulaic, but they were still fairly effective as long as they stuck to that formula: Fred constructs some Rube Goldberg-like trap that the bad guy in the fright mask is lured into by the reluctant duo of Shaggy and Scooby. Velma is the smart one who finds the clues, while Daphne is pretty and is frequently endangered.

Of course all these characters are at best one-dimensional, but it was Daphne who, unsurprisingly, seemed most in need of a make-over to the politically-correct cretins in charge of the entertainment industry today. It simply wouldn't do to have a female in danger; no, no, she has to be the physical equal of boys like Fred who probably outweigh her by fifty pounds. I think she was a karate expert in some of the newer incarnations - I certainly haven't seen them all - and interestingly, the later ones I saw featured a reduced "gang" consisting of only Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby, and Scooby's nephew Scrappy-Doo, who was apparently added when the ratings were slipping. What happened to Fred and Velma was never explained as far as I know.

And of course that's the problem with all series: the original version is best but has to run out steam sooner or later, yet the company that owns it wants to continue making money. We wind up with ridiculous movie sequels like Battle for the Planet of the Apes, TV franchises like Star Trek with numerous spin-offs that are pale imitations of the original, and of course comic book superheroes who go on forever until they sink to bizarre and offensive depths like the upcoming bisexual version of Superman. Of course this last is the product of more than mere exhaustion, which is what happened to Scooby-Doo where the original formula worked but nobody really needed to see it over and over again after the first year or two - it's the destructive result of cultural Marxism that aims to destroy Western culture entirely, and I hope the new Superman flops the way so many other products of our new, wokester "creators" have. But let's get back to Scooby-Doo.

The original version was best, and one proof of that is how spanking artists always use Velma and Daphne as they appeared in 1969. The question of why Velma seems to have been the subject of both spanking and non-spanking (mostly porn) drawings as many times as Daphne is a puzzling one, and I certainly have no answer although I'm sure I'll bring the question up again . We begin a series of spanking-themed drawings with Velma and Daphne this week in the Doctor Cylon Gallery, and during this series we'll see both of them - sometimes in the same drawing - with bright red bottoms.

There will be an interruption after next week's "Halloween Daphne," however, due to the ol' Web-Ed's forgetting that the Scooby Series was ongoing when he scheduled a lot of Little Annie Fanny for November. I have no idea how or why this happened, except that I'm still very tired and overworked and I probably wanted something from comic strips to complement the other comics stuff we're doing right now, so Velma and Daphne will be back for a return engagement beginning in December.

I like women with large breasts, but sometimes Julius Zimmerman goes too far. It's hard to tell in this picture if Velma is bending over to reach a book, or if she's being pulled into a hunched position by the weight of those over-sized boobs!

The Comics Spankings Series continues with the start of a new mini-series of foreign comics, and within that a mini-mini-series of Spanish-language comics, kicking off with "The Spanking Sheriff".

I like this one better. Her breasts are also large, but a size that a normal woman could reasonably support. And her lovely round backside provides a tempting target for the spanker!

Someday, I'm hoping to hear from a Spanish-speaking person who's read this comic, what the story is!

Although last names were seldom used in Scooby-Doo, Willjohn, Velma's last name is "Dinkley" which doesn't sound too French. In fact it doesn't sound like it came from any other ancestry, either! I did a quick check of the White Pages (non-business phone directories here in America) and did not find any "Dinkley," although I did turn up one "Dunkley" and another "Binkley". Maybe it's Anglo-Saxon - you can almost picture someone named "Lord Binkley" although I don't know about "Lord Dinkley" .

Perhaps it's really Julius Zimmerman who came from France, even though "Zimmerman" isn't French either, for his ladies always seem to have misplaced their pants somehow. Strange, but very convenient for spanking!

Yeah. I know "Zimmerman" is the German word for "carpenter", and is a fairly common name among people of German or German Jewish ancestry. Probably, the best known Zimmerman in the U.S. would be Bob Dylan's birth name.

Happy Halloween, everyone! Fortunately, among a ton of Scooby-Stuff that Doctor Cylon has done there was one featuring Daphne "tricked out," as it were, for Halloween, so we're naturally featuring it this week.

The Latina Loca scene is, frankly, a little rough, yet it does feature a double-spanking of two apparently deserving young women. We're going to be covering Spanish-language comics in the ongoing The Comics Spankings Series for a while before moving on to Japanese manga.

In other news, Dan has been having some trouble logging in again but I hope he'll be back with us soon.

I don't know how I forgot what series I was supposed to be doing, but probably I was distracted by the comics stuff and realized the Good Doctor had quite a bit of material featuring Annie, most of it on Julius Zimmerman's base drawings. Let's hope I remember to get back to the gang from Scooby-Doo when we're finished with Annie.

I remember watching Scooby Doo in the '70s. Each of the two girls in the show had something I liked. Velma used to wear those pleated skirts, and Daphne was a redhead. It's too bad the original show never came up with a pretext for each of them to get spanked. How about the ghost of the ghost of the spankin' rancher? At least this week we get to see a scantily-clad Daphne with a reddened butt, thanks to Doctor Cylon!

The Comics Spankings Series continues with "Latina Loca".

It's unfortunate that the artist chose to do the spanking in silhouette, but what might be even worse is that one of the men appears to be kicking one of the girls rather than spanking her. (Huh?)

Yes B00m, Annie was spanked and only once in her own strip as far as I know. I posted it back in 2010 as Little Annie Fanny Gets Her Fanny Spanked .

And there are indeed pictures of Annie suitable for Doctor Cylon to color! One of them came from the strip, and I believe the rest are all by Julius Zimmerman, whose "Plumber's Curse" featuring Annie is already in the Good Doctor's gallery.

It's probably unwise for me to draw attention to those incredibly rare instances in which I make a mistake, but in case anyone missed my previous mea culpas and wonders what the heck happened to the Scooby-Doo Series in Doc Cylon's Gallery, the plain fact is I forgot I was in the middle of it and started coding the Little Annie Fanny Series instead. At this point, we'll complete the Annie series first and then get back to Scooby and the Gang in mid-December.

This week we have an unusual offering that originated with Julius Zimmerman. It's kind of a homage to Playboy artist Alberto Vargas, who had nothing to do with Annie when the strip was appearing in that magazine. It's an interesting piece even though it has no spanking or even a red bottom.

Then we have the only known M/F spanking from the Chilean comic strip Condorito. I have co-credited the discovery of this one to our own Dan Eldorado and El Manto Negro (whose art has appeared on the main site many times) because I remember Dan posting it on this board (although I can't find it now) and EMN emailed it to me. It's very much in the nature of a Humorama spanking cartoon and I go into the reason for that on the page itself. As to the question of further M/F spankings in Condorito, I go into that on the page also, but I'll just repeat here that it's possible but not too likely. (There is one spanking of Condorito himself we can do without and which will be duly posted in the Data Base).

I did have a large number of Condorito comics sent to me from Venezuela before that country's complete collapse under socialism, but I haven't been able to review them all yet. Obviously I will continue to go through them at the rate of a few per week, but I don't believe I have every issue of a comic that goes back more than sixty years.
